Doped Dinosaur tried to Beef Pogacar (Try To Not Laugh)

Tadej Pogacar Giro d'Italia 2024 is undoubtedly the number 1 candidate to win the Corsa Rosa after his victory in Liege 2024 and seeing the great result of his teammates Brandon McNulty and Juan Ayuso in the Tour de Romandia 2024 time trial and Isaac del Toro in Vuelta Asturias 2024. However, the cycling dinosaur Roger de Vlaeminck wanted to throw beef at him in a ridiculous way, trying to destroy him with absurd comparisons to Eddy Merckx that were not relevant. Pogacar has it clear, De Vlaeminck, you're going to see how the UAE sweeps Italy.

  • Sorry dudes. When title said "Doped dinosaur" i wanted to put "200% clean dinosaur". Probably KZhead will fix it.

  • To be fair, the sport wouldn't be nearly as entertaining if they didn't dope. 6+ watts per kilo is absolutely possible naturally, but doing it day after day in a grand tour without a day or two in between to recover is impossible without assistance.

  • in 1969 Merckx won a TdF that was 18% longer than 2023, had 3 "double" stages and the 1969 longest stage that was 62% longer than the longest stage in 2023 (203km vs. 329km)... so maybe uncle Roger has a point... if you make Pogo race as much Merckx raced and then race the same course Merckx raced, it is easy to imagine Merckx winning. Also in 1969 Merckx won MSR, Flanders, LBL and Paris Nice before winning the TdF. If you look at the facts and put them on equal ground, it is likely Merckx beats Pogo.

    • @@cyclinghighlights You equate taking the drugs of the 60s an 70s to todays drugs... speed and the roids of that era are not the same as taking EPO and the cornucopia of what has become available. EPO changed the doping game, it makes someone 10%-15% faster. That is unbelievable at the world class level. Doping changed.

  • Roger has always been a "back in my day!" type of character. I wish our humble narrator will someday have the chance to sling the mud against these champions in-person (as-in to their face) rather than make cheeky videos like these from the comfort of his mum's basement. Anyone who wins is doped and anyone who doesn't dope can't win and is a fool it seems to Mr. Humble Narrator...who as far as we know has never pinned-on a number or won a bicycle race of any kind...or has he?

Whether Lance, Pantani, Contador, Froome or more current false idols, Bini, Jonas, Pogs or Mohoric, if you question their credibility you're a hater. OR, it's the other way "they're all dopers, my guy is clean" The old timers were just as dirty and are no different than today's YT nitwits. Love cycling, not any specific racer, team, national hero. Be honest about our sport and realistic in your praise and support.
