Tadej Pogacar Giro d'Italia 2024 is undoubtedly the number 1 candidate to win the Corsa Rosa after his victory in Liege 2024 and seeing the great result of his teammates Brandon McNulty and Juan Ayuso in the Tour de Romandia 2024 time trial and Isaac del Toro in Vuelta Asturias 2024. However, the cycling dinosaur Roger de Vlaeminck wanted to throw beef at him in a ridiculous way, trying to destroy him with absurd comparisons to Eddy Merckx that were not relevant. Pogacar has it clear, De Vlaeminck, you're going to see how the UAE sweeps Italy.
Sorry dudes. When title said "Doped dinosaur" i wanted to put "200% clean dinosaur". Probably KZhead will fix it.
I understand your lingo mate. Doped = 200000000% clean
LMFAO!
U know that Roger De vlaminck his last son is called Eddy.
Eddie failed drug tests and got off on technicality . The sport was and still is a drug circus.
A new title: "Old man yelling at clouds"
"Beloved Danish anchovy" - LOLOL
I laugh out loud every time :-D
So glad I stumbled across this channel. It is now a favorite. Brilliance!
Hey Roger, MVP will never climb like Pogi..Get over it!
Why can't old and young dopers get along? Either one thinks he is too . . . high?
Thank God for those tail winds😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
I love this channel🤣🤣🤣🤣. It gets better each day.
I really think you know what your talking about ... Very entertaining and gratifying that the ruse is up on all of those "CHEATERS" ... At least here ....maybe everywhere eventually...
Thank you.❤️ It made me so mad when i read the article the other day. Knew he wasn't the oh so great rider he claimed to be
Roger your videos a brilliant. Love everything about them. You always keep us laughing at the same time you're teaching me things i wasnt aware of and I've been watching cycling for 30+ years Cheers 🤘🏻🏴
To be fair, the sport wouldn't be nearly as entertaining if they didn't dope. 6+ watts per kilo is absolutely possible naturally, but doing it day after day in a grand tour without a day or two in between to recover is impossible without assistance.
Love your videos.
Haha love this videos! The narrator are so funny 😅
Sunday in Hell greatest cycling documentary ever Merckx,Roger,Moser,Maertens,Roger poetry in motion across the cobbles dream on son of second place to Greg at the 1983 world championships 😂
I love your videos!
Great video as usual.
Who needs drugs, when you have E bikes.
Allan Peiper on Tulip classic
I was racing at that time both in England and France, good story and good times back then😊
Great video sir, keep em coming:)
Roger knew all about performance with steak for breakfast😂
in 1969 Merckx won a TdF that was 18% longer than 2023, had 3 "double" stages and the 1969 longest stage that was 62% longer than the longest stage in 2023 (203km vs. 329km)... so maybe uncle Roger has a point... if you make Pogo race as much Merckx raced and then race the same course Merckx raced, it is easy to imagine Merckx winning. Also in 1969 Merckx won MSR, Flanders, LBL and Paris Nice before winning the TdF. If you look at the facts and put them on equal ground, it is likely Merckx beats Pogo.
And being only 1 month of sanction after positive Now not
@@cyclinghighlights You equate taking the drugs of the 60s an 70s to todays drugs... speed and the roids of that era are not the same as taking EPO and the cornucopia of what has become available. EPO changed the doping game, it makes someone 10%-15% faster. That is unbelievable at the world class level. Doping changed.
Do you think in 60s there’s no advantages for French riders in France or Spanish riders in Spain? Crazy
I'd forgotten about those double stages!
Can You make video about Christophe Bassons?
The best cycling channel by far
If it were Vingegaard, Vlaeminck would be trying to have beef with anchovy
I started going on my first club rides as a young teenager in the mid 70s, There was a guy that would show-up in a Brooklyn jersey, I thought I was in the big leagues. I still have a de Vlaeminck poster in my basement, right next to Zoetemelk's worlds win. Thanks for the video.
Great colour footage of the racing
Roger has always been a "back in my day!" type of character. I wish our humble narrator will someday have the chance to sling the mud against these champions in-person (as-in to their face) rather than make cheeky videos like these from the comfort of his mum's basement. Anyone who wins is doped and anyone who doesn't dope can't win and is a fool it seems to Mr. Humble Narrator...who as far as we know has never pinned-on a number or won a bicycle race of any kind...or has he?
The classic Peiper sandwich interview 😊
Never been able to stomach how Merckx was an alpha doper and was/is still praised as a superhero …
Totally agree! The fact he is still proud to be wheeled out at races shows the unbridled level narcissism of the guy and the cognitive dissonance of organisers and the sport in this “new era” of “clean” sport!
Who is the 'Crusty olde Man' behind these narrations ?
Merckx doped too, think the only clean champion was Greg Lemond
If you don't count the testosterone after getting shot(I don't). His biceps looked like Arnold's. Micro dosing T was actually allowed. Lemond's beef was with EPO, and rightly so.
Don’t care what sport it is, what drugs they are on, what equipment they are using, there’s just no way elite amateurs of the past are beating even halfway decent pros of the modern era
LOL, excellent
hilarious!
halfway through it and I read in French that Bernard Hinault was a fantastic racer that he could not beat. Sorry I am very biased on the matter so Roger can't be a bad guy 😉
Still waiting for your response
Cañita Brava 😂
So if you want to do another old school video do one of Freddy as the curator of the cycling museum or Moser at the cycling expo in Long Beach California circa 1987/88 with his giant wheel hour record bike and I have a autographed photo of him on it
Win or loose everyone gets paid 😉
Relentless bait factory, where you can survive buckshot while bird hunting, like Greg, lol, or gain 65% faster race times than 90's. Might as well be call centre in Calcutta 😁😎😂🤣😂
Although I enjoy your videos, this one is a bit over the top. Words uttered by former stars are just words. Comparing cyclist's abilities with decades between them and with the many technological advances that have also occurred, such comparisons cannot be accurately done.
1:47 Old drug dealers, making a comeback, selling . . . crack rocks!
Next video current pros racing clean 🧼
Mmmm … transparency will help. Unless Cycling Highlights an AI bot.🤖
YT comments are awash in ignorant fanboy hero worship. Whether Lance, Pantani, Contador, Froome or more current false idols, Bini, Jonas, Pogs or Mohoric, if you question their credibility you're a hater. OR, it's the other way "they're all dopers, my guy is clean" The old timers were just as dirty and are no different than today's YT nitwits. Love cycling, not any specific racer, team, national hero. Be honest about our sport and realistic in your praise and support.
Why is the prevalence of dementia in Belgian former pro cyclists so high?
Sorry but the pro’s these days are a bunch of super duped fairies
I still think no one could beat Merckx.
De Vlaeminck himself do it a lot
Skjaelmose doped? It that verified? Or just your assumption? Not backed up by racefacts. As you could see recently, Skjaelmose just couldn't keep to with the very best in the Classics of 2024.
'Contaminated supplements'. Banned for a season.
@@drphibes7666 Strange terminology. But not EPO? And no blood-doping? And no 'speed'? (Amphetamines....)
@@user-pt1ow8hx5l I don't know why you couldn't see it on racefacts, but it's a Wada-banned performance enhancer with a long list of suspensions across many sports. Bans of 18-24 months for many sports.
You are wrong .
Why
Cringe. At least make an attempt to pronounce 'Pogačar' correctly.
Can you do one about Jan Ullrich please?
Nice one:)
