Cosmo is actually a very nice guy tho. He told fans to not hate on sage and tag him in insulting posts because they're both just doing their jobs. He also said he doesn't understand why Sage is hated just because he looks like a model. He even went so far as to say he felt very sad when he learned how bad sage was at the hospital. Point fighting will just never equate to being competitive against a world class Muy Thai fighter. Muy Thai fighters are the scariest of strikers in MMA. Two anomalies are Machida (who ended up getting wrecked by Shogun, point made) and Wonderboy (who is abnormally good amongst karatecas). Kick boxing wins 9 out 10 times bruh.

they did not want sage to win that fight. One FC’s idea behind it I feel like was let’s display our roster show how good the guys we have are, compared to his hype train the ufc sent over that we’re about to derail making him move up in weight, and fight a great Mixed martial artist/ fighter. By design, Sage wasn’t going to win that fight. His standup is not even close to being on the same “level” that joe and brendan are talking about. He got starched, the best thing for Sage is to take time off. Train his ass off all over again , and work harder for a better result. Joe creates a great point in this, if Sage is just going to stand against these guys who are more accomplished stand up artists than him, he should be a kick boxer and not a mixed martial artist.

Sage was interested in trying Kickboxing in ONE. I guess they figured matching him up with Cosmo would give him some experience with an actual kickboxer but also give him an "advantage" to test himself with MMA rules. If they put him straight in a Kickboxing fight he couldn't shoot in for a take down to escape dangerous strikes.. Also Cosmo hasn't fought MMA rules in a while they must've figured it'll even the playing field with his apparent MMA ring rust. In the end it didn't work out. I don't know, that's my view anyway.

He might be able to come back. Look up Ken Roczen’s comeback to professional motocross. He pulverized his arms, they wanted to amputate them. Countless surgeries later and he’s returned. He’s currently fighting for a championship. It is a very inspiring return that has taught me to think twice about saying someone is retired. If there’s a will there’s a way.

Well it's good for One FC. It shows how good the fighters really are. It definitely showed me how good the fighters are in One. I agree with Joe. I'm a huge UFC fan. But now I know for sure ONE has a lot of better fighters than UFC. It's close and it's been proven now. It's actually very smart by One FC. Bring in UFC fighters and watch One fighters smash them. Thats true but as Schaub was saying...that doesn't apply to Sage. Having an old dude that is a striking legend beat the shit out of a young guy that everybody thinks has potential but is a long way from reaching it doesn't accomplish the goal of saying "we have the best fighters". Sage hasn't beaten any good UFC guys either. So the only reason to get Sage is because he has name recognition. Build him up and then let him have a big fight. If Cosmo starches Alvarez...that looks good on One, Cosmo starching Sage just wastes the investment in Sage with littler return.

I actually don't think it was such a missmatch. He go KOed quickly but that happens in evenly matched fights as well. I think he was not accostumed to fighting in a ring an circled horribly into a monstrous right hand, if it went longer he could've wrestled and done more stuff. He's not a bad wrestler and has given other fighters trouble with takedowns in the past. It was definitely a hard fight to win, but this is the fight game and sometimes this happens.

Point fighting will just never equate to being competitive against a world class Muy Thai fighter. Muy Thai fighters are the scariest of strikers in MMA. Two anomalies are Machida (who ended up getting wrecked by Shogun, point made) and Wonderboy (who is abnormally good amongst karatecas). Kick boxing wins 9 out 10 times bruh.

By design, Sage wasn’t going to win that fight. His standup is not even close to being on the same “level” that joe and brendan are talking about. He got starched, the best thing for Sage is to take time off. Train his ass off all over again , and work harder for a better result. Joe creates a great point in this, if Sage is just going to stand against these guys who are more accomplished stand up artists than him, he should be a kick boxer and not a mixed martial artist.

Sage was interested in trying Kickboxing in ONE. I guess they figured matching him up with Cosmo would give him some experience with an actual kickboxer but also give him an "advantage" to test himself with MMA rules. If they put him straight in a Kickboxing fight he couldn't shoot in for a take down to escape dangerous strikes.. Also Cosmo hasn't fought MMA rules in a while they must've figured it'll even the playing field with his apparent MMA ring rust. In the end it didn't work out. I don't know, that's my view anyway.

He might be able to come back. Look up Ken Roczen’s comeback to professional motocross. He pulverized his arms, they wanted to amputate them. Countless surgeries later and he’s returned. He’s currently fighting for a championship. It is a very inspiring return that has taught me to think twice about saying someone is retired. If there’s a will there’s a way.

I actually don't think it was such a missmatch. He go KOed quickly but that happens in evenly matched fights as well. I think he was not accostumed to fighting in a ring an circled horribly into a monstrous right hand, if it went longer he could've wrestled and done more stuff. He's not a bad wrestler and has given other fighters trouble with takedowns in the past. It was definitely a hard fight to win, but this is the fight game and sometimes this happens.

I got to train under Cosmo for a while in Muy Thai. First of all, awesome dude. Second, while going over a combo that involved a leg kick, he tapped my leg. I felt that all the way through my body. His strikes are so precise and deadly.

I think Sage underestimated Cosmo, especially with the wide karate stance with his chin out.
