    • @@tomitstube You completely missed my point. The physical way that Rodman and Malone played during their day would get them ejected in today's PG NBA. Heck, you can get called for a technical just for looking at a ref wrong. I don't understand your reasoning since I didn't say anything about fouls. If you get as physical as these guys did in the NBA today, you would get tossed from the game.

      @tke567@tke5675 жыл бұрын

    • @@markfrost2707 the numbers don’t count some of the shit he actually does. Like force open areas for MJ and Scottie, or zone/foul a player out of the game. He was a bruiser, and he did the work that the team couldn’t afford having Scottie or Mike do. Argue what you will, but Scottie, MJ, and Phil Jackson kept him on the team through 3 championships for a reason. Edit: Mark Frost is making up arguments to argue against. LOL nobody is saying Charles Barkley sucks or that Rodman made MJ. The argument is that he brought defensive and offensive options through his sheer presence on the court, not that he single-handedly made his teams. Besides, Rodman led the league on rebounds through various years on different teams. Bringing up that you watched all of the NBA games is embarrassing though, especially if you can’t understand such a simple argument. Just another old head hating for no reason.

    • @@eFrog27 I'm sorry?? Where you watching the NBA then?? Seem a little young? I watched ALL of it--ALL of it and Rodman is widely regarded as someone who did not belong. the hall is NOT for "role players" PERIOD. He got in because he was part of the CULTURE og the 90s NBA. Not a great player but ALWAYS getting attention with his antics, tattoos, hair colors, wearing dresses or anything else he could do for ATTENTION, instead of letting his NOT hall of fame numbers to speak for themself. Rodman was able to defend and get rebounds BECAUSE JORDAN WAS DOUBLE TEAMED. You know nothing about basketball. It wasn't Rodman who helped Jordan into the Hall--it was the other way around...and the simple fact is his numbers are a joke. When you look at his rebound numbers? factor in he was nogt ask to SCORE!!! Look at 6'4" Charles barkley's rebound numbers as he put up 50s! Do you think those two are similar? Again--the hall is not for ROLE PLAYERS. How much defense or how many rebounds do you think Jordan would have got if told 'dont worry about scoring"?? THINK .......sorry

    • righttttttt ANY starting NBA player could DOUBLE his efforts (he has THE WORST numbers of ANY player in the hall) when told not to try to score BECAUSE HE COULDNT HIT THE SIDE OF A BARN. Barkley has better rebound numbers and he's 4 inches shorter and scored in the 50s sometimes. he sigle-handily took the Suns to the Finals in his first year. yet he has better rebound numbers. Know why?? HE'S A HALL OF FAME PLAYER. Google it--most pro writers agree--the hall is NOT for role players. he was a BUM. I guess Joe Klien was the greatest center in history, right?? Look at his rings...and Barkley sucked because he has no rings...right? Rodman does NOT belong in the Hall--period

Just look at the fun and competition between Mailman and Worm. Yeah, they pushed it, got overheared, but also had tons of fun being the characters they were. I miss the Jazz from back then, but also the Bulls, Spurs and Knicks. What a decade, what a ride!

    • Ulysses432 are you honestly saying that when a player shoots 40 percent or higher from 3 he should be going to the paint smh math class beckons, 3 is greater than 2

      @MegaClintbeastwood@MegaClintbeastwood6 жыл бұрын
    • @MegaClintbeastwood Because there were superstar big men back in the day so they always feed them in the post just like Malone or a simple pick and pop or pick and roll, if the opposing team double team him he kicks out to the shooter simple as that. That's why Malone and Stockton were so effective. The gameplay right now is ridiculous and foolish at times as it focuses on the 3 point shot which is the least efficient shot. I'll give you an example which happens a lot in today's NBA. In an offensive play during a switch where the offensive big man is being guarded by a small guy, instead of giving the ball to the big man in the post, the offense let the offensive guard who's being guarded by a big man isolate on the top (3 point area) hoping to create distance for a three point attempt. No matter how effective you are as a shooter the 3 point shot is less efficient because it is farther from the basket as oppose to giving it to the big guy who can easily get past his smaller defender on the post. This is why the Spurs has been present in the playoffs since 1995 from David Robinson to TIm Duncan and now Lamarcus Aldridge. They always have an anchor in the post and play inside-out instead of throwing hail mary's every offensive play. Simple efficient offense plus great defense, that's the winning formula. It's sad that everybody wants to copy the Warrior's formula when they got lucky by drafting two great shooters plus an anchor in defense in Green and now Durant which I really don't like because he took the easy way out but that's another topic, to me they are an exception. If I pick the Jordan Bulls and current Warriors. I would definitely pick the Jordan Bulls because that team played simple basketball using MJ as the anchor in the post and is surrounded by effective role players and another star in Pippen. Just like the old NBA they play inside-out which is far efficient than attempting threes everytime. If that three gets defended properly it's easy to lose confidence and eventually lose your rhythm and before you know it your team is getting clobbered. Besides the zone defense in the NBA is a joke, how can you call it zone defense when you can't stay in the shaded area without guarding anyone or else you'll get a 3 second defensive violation. There's a gaping hole in the middle when team employs zone and the quick athletic guards are capitalizing on that stupid rule.

      @Impenneteri@Impenneteri6 жыл бұрын
    • Ulysses432 here ill break it down simpler for you. Lmao you're gunna love this, because your hilarious comment holds no water, and now I'm going to make it so that people reading this realize, who in fact needs to go back to school. 40 percent of 50 is 20, 55 percent of 50 is 27.5.......now if you take both of those values, and multiplied it accordingly, if I made 20 three pointers out of 50 shots which is 40 percent made of total shots, I would get a value of 60. If I made 27.5 shots out of 50 which is 55 percent, it would give me a value of 55. Now, last time I checked 60>55. Correct me if I'm wrong. Geez I'm sorry to do that to you, I really am, but you forced my hand.

His energy was off the charts> I watched Rodman guard everyone from Malone to Shaq and he played them all hard and tough while being quite smaller than most he was tasked with. • junior2404 - this right here. When you can play defense like back then, you can't just play like teams today do shooting indiscriminately. Nonstop passing like today's teams couldn't be done with the defensive physicality - there would be too many turnovers and interceptions. This also gave shooters less time and space to shoot which affected shooting percentages. Like you said, teams needed to find ways to score - that was what the game was about.

  • I miss 90's sports. Like literally all of them, racing too. So much more raw, wild...and even dangerous.
