In serial «The Terminal List» cast Chris Pratt as a Commander of Alpha Platoon US Navy SEAL named James Reece, whose entire team is wiped out during an ambush. James Reece wife and daughter are later murdered as a part of a military conspiracy. Reece creates a list, called "The Terminal List" which is written on the back of a drawing his daughter made. The list is of all the people involved in the death of his loved ones, eventually adding new names as the mystery unravels throughout the series.
Another key plot point in The Terminal List is Reece discovering he and his men were given an experimental drug that was intended to prevent PTSD. Instead, it gave him and his men brain tumors, with Reece suffering from painful headaches and hallucinations throughout the series.

  • “At some point we will all confront a dark moment in life. If not the passing of a loved one, then something else that crushes your spirit and leaves you wondering about your future. In that dark moment, reach deep inside yourself and be your very best.” - William McRaven(United States Navy four-star admiral).

  • It is refreshing to see the protagonist have to exfil and evade competently to complete the mission. Most garden variety revenge flicks end with a fan service inspired bloodbath followed by a beer commercial reminiscent ending. High-Fives and a couple cold ones, slow motion swagger into the sunset, and no cops anywhere.

  • In the book, his showdown with Ben Edwards casts Ben in a much less sympathetic light. He has no remorse, holds a hostage, and tries to kill Reece. Reece crosses off the last name on his list with much less regret.

    @srtaylor1911@srtaylor1911 Жыл бұрын
    • Thanks for the interesting comment. In my opinion, the authors of the script for the series changed the character of Ben Edwards to make the plot more dramatic. The book also has other differences.

      @EditingByFT@EditingByFT Жыл бұрын
    • I think the reason was to show the remaining humanity and regrets of Reece as his thoughts weren't as clearly expressed as in the novel. Example: The first kill of the driver in the road, Reece realizes that he has just crossed society's lines of law and acceptable conduct by becoming a murderer.

Turns out that it was the police who were responsable for her death as instead of taking her to the hospital they took her to the police station where she lay dying on a table of a brain hemorrage, her husband found her there. The police in that Muslim country was known for it's corruption and the fact that my beautiful 20 year old blond, blue eyed sister was dying didn't take away that the family who died were muslim. You have to let go. That day we all died inside, my dad died then my kid brother gave up and now it's me and my 90 year old damaged mother. One unjust death takes many in it's wake.

      @1970elektra@1970elektra Жыл бұрын
    • @@1970elektra Well because when you live in a Muslim country you abide by their rules and as much as expats live in a 'bubble' you have to remember that you are a religious foreigner. I believe if she had been Muslim things would have been done differently but I am not saying that she would have survived. The police who did this also asked us for 300,000 pounds 'compensation' for the accident that she didn't cause and they embalmed her body and sent her home in a cardboard coffin and not a lead coffin. In UK law, when someone dies under unverified circumstances there has to be an autopsy on arrival. The whole thing was overwhelming and it destroyed us all and we still live with the consequences of that loss. I have nothing against any religion, I can separate the religion of people with their behaviour.

    • I didn’t turn it on on purpose, I thought that I might reanimate it in the second season. For the murder itself is not shown. And when I read the book, and found out that Ben was definitely killed. The clip was published and did not want to redo it. By the way, a couple more murders are not shown, as it would be too long. I wanted to convey the main thoughts of the film, I hope I succeeded.

    • Not all storylines are shown here. The film has a lot more to offer.
