  • I'm 64 and have a 30+ minute aerobic step-box routine with light dumbbells that I've been doing since last spring 4-5 times a week. It's similar in intensity to a light, steady jog. A couple of weeks ago, I started working in a few workouts with this pattern on days I normally would have skipped. Yesterday, I was astonished to find that my resting heartbeat has dropped by about 6-8 beats/min. WOW -- those "sprints" really are effective!

Its nice to look big and muscular but its even better in my opinion to have full control of your body. Right now i can do about 8 good pull ups and arround 30 push ups. My goal is to start doing weighted calisthenics that way ill be stronger and more athletic. After just about 2 months of calisthenics i already feel stronger and more athletic then i was when i was doing 22kgs dumbell curls at the gym.

      @mariajoy4541@mariajoy45413 жыл бұрын
    • The gym's I have been working out in don't want people to do HITT, they like members to stand around doing weights & making the place look full. And spending time with classes and paying extra for personal training sessions. Beginner's need it, then you can do your own program of HITT in the gym. I attended a gym for 16 years, now I have kettle bells and a stepper machine in the garage with a weight bench, punch bag and an assortment of other stuff collected over the years. Everyone needs to understand that when they get older, they need to keep moving and have strong muscles. People in care homes get lazy and let the staff do more for them, then they no longer are able to move for themselves, ending up being hoisted to the toilet and rolled in bet to have their pad changed. So please everyone, keep strength training and keep moving.
