Eurovision entrant Joost Klein questioned by police over 'incident', Dutch media reports
The Netherlands' Eurovision entrant has been questioned by police over claims he made "unlawful threats" to a member of staff, Dutch media reports.
Joost Klein, 26, missed his slot in the show's penultimate dress rehearsal in Malmo, Sweden, on Friday and was not allowed to take part in either of yesterday's two dry-runs after the event's organiser said it was investigating an "incident" he was involved in.
Swedish police say they subsequently questioned a man over alleged "unlawful threats" made against a Eurovision employee on Thursday evening.

This year of Eurovision has just been a dumpster fire
This year?
EBU please be transparant in what actually happened. What happened to innocent before proven guilty??
I just saw an updated report/statement from EBU. He's being investigated by Swedish police for making a threat or threats towards a Eurovision member of staff.
@@RoxanneLavender link?
EBU and transparency LOL.
@@rafadydkiemmacha7543 😀 good point
@@RoxanneLavenderwhy would Joost treahtt someone !! maby she insult Joost before and joost only response to it
Avatros just posted this: We have taken note of the disqualification by the EBU. AVROTROS finds the disqualification disproportionate and is shocked by the decision. We deeply regret this. An incident occurred after last Thursday's performance. Against clearly made agreements, Joost was filmed when he had just gotten off stage and had to rush to the greenroom. At that moment, Joost repeatedly indicated that he did not want to be filmed. This wasn’t respected. This led to a threatening movement from Joost towards the camera. Joost did not touch the camera woman. This incident was reported, followed by an investigation by the EBU and police. Yesterday and today we consulted extensively with the EBU and proposed several solutions. Nevertheless, the EBU has still decided to disqualify Joost Klein. AVROTROS finds the penalty very heavy and disproportionate. We stand for good manners -let there be no misunderstanding about that- but in our view, an exclusion order is not proportional to this incident. We are very disappointed and upset for the millions of fans who were so excited for tonight. What Joost brought to the Netherlands and Europe shouldn’t have ended this way.
Honestly, it sounds like some tabloid paparazzi trying to really get a news story and even a potential payout. He never put his hands on anyone, thus to kick him out of the finale was utterly ridiculous. I feel like the EBU is so out of touch, honestly.
The camera woman assaulted him by not respecting his boundaries. The EBU is twisted as hell. The only reason they did not disqualify Israel from participation is because their biggest sponsor Moroccanoil is from Israel. Boycott Eurovision Song Contest ❌
I knew it!!!
According to the Dutch Broadcasting Association, Joost was being followed by a camerawoman from the show. Despite his repeated requests for her to stop filming and leave him alone, she continued to do so. Eventually, he made a threatening gesture towards her, but did not make physical contact, and then walked away.
What kind of gesture?
Joost: "Europapa!" EBU: "Welcome to the Nexit, sir. I'm sorry."
Today I am sorry te be Dutch.

Get the backing singers to present the song.
So, apparently Joost has not been physical and he basicly didn't do anything but say something and that person was hella offended.
Last Thursday Joost wanted to go to the green room after his performance. It was agreed that no press, videos or photos would be taken. There was a lady filming. After repeatedly asking to stop this, Joost made a dismissive gesture. That's why he was suspended.🤷🏼♂️ @Eurovision
There was an agreement that Joost would not be filmed when he was finished. A camera woman filmed him anyway so Joost asked her multiple times to stop filming. She would not listen and continued. Joost then made an agressive faint towards the camera but did not touch the woman. AND THIS LADIES AND GENTLEMAN IS ENOUGH FOR EBU TO CANCEL HIM. Absolutely disgusting behaviour of the orginisation! Boycot this bullshit!
This is politics. He or someone from his crew made a remark that didn't land well at an employee of ESF. Even the co- broadcaster said that this disqualification is completely disproportional. This is insane. I hope the fans start a revolt in Malmo
No its not, the law should be followed by all. No exceptions for politicians and celebrities. Thats what differs between us and them.
This is not politics. It’s acting stupidly and breaking the rules or even law.
Rules are rules. For everyone!
He made threats to a female employee
The fact AvroTros is saying it’s disproportionate is quite interesting, since the mediapark already had scandals and lots of training the last 1-2 years about it. Imagine the hit on their name if he did something scandalous, but since they know what he did and STILL take Joost’s side says enough imho.
Double standards, a country who killed 35000 people can be part of the ebu but just a argument vocal is not allowed

@@fernandosm2066 What is the connection between Russia and Israel? Apart from your irrelevant opinion?
The incident happened just after Joost left stage on Thursday. They started filming him backstage. He repeatedly said he didn't wanted to be filmed and when this camera woman kept on filming he attacked her verbally but he didn't touch her. Simple version: Joost said stop, she didn't, he got angry
Just in Dutch news: Joost was filmed by a camera woman after he got of stage in the half finals against the rules and his will. He asked her several times to stop filming which she didn't. Joost made a move towards her camera without touching her. Of that incident has been made a complaint which got him disqualifite. :-S
And just in a Swedish police report it looks like Joost will get convicted for unlawful threat. Seems like Eurovision made the right choice to disqualify him.
