Badosa's growth is amazing, hope she can win a slam this year
Paula was very solid in this match
Can she beat Barty?
Plus the slams just always have one player on terrific God mode.
@@tochiemmanuel3608 depends on the mood, this is the WTA
She won’t. Other then Madrid and winning Indian Wells at the end of the year, what did Badosa do?
Fernandez losing to the defending champ isn't a bad result and I think Badosa wanted to prove a point. She's looking strong. Great job both ladies.
Don't say she lost to the defending champ, say she lost to the better player. That's it.. she isn't as good as you want her to be yet.
@@SalHardy Badosa was the better player and she's ALSO the defending champion. No one is saying otherwise so not sure what your point is. Saying Fernandez "isn't as good as you want her to be yet" is just unnecessary. Go away with the negativity and get a life.
Leylah keeps giving away first set. She can't go deep in a tourney like that.
@@SalHardy so what happened to Emma????
@@fcf777 she's gone with the wind
Fernandez brought a very high level; glorious shot-making. But Badosa is just another level. Go defend your title PB!
🤣😸 sorry, what?
@@justdev8965 it's literally all clearly written, what
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
How many levels are there? Sorry, but 6-4,6-4, looks very tight. For a defending player it looked very close level to me. We will see what future brings.
@@oneraksakal Badosa is definitely a level up. Why does this seem confusing to some people here? 😂 The final result is why I even mentioned Fernandez's phenomenal shot making in this match.
Paula Badosa has a solid game and strong mentality. Definitely one to watch out in the coming years.
Paula was very solid in this match
lmao i guess you never watched her breakdown mentally
I never see her as mentally strong type. She's only confident if she won the first set, but if you double break her in the 1st, she'll collapse downhill and mentally defeated. For real, like in games v Coco, Iga, Garbine, Swiatek, Madison. If she doesn't win the first set, it's over - kind of personality. 🥱
Paula makes womens tennis attractive again.....
@@whitespace270 she is coming ...she played very strong against a excelent playing Sakkari .
Still proud of you Leylah!! You just played with the defending champ. This experience will elevate your play💪🏻🙌
they played equally the same, nothing significant skills does badosa possess. Fernandez lost the game because she has plenty of errrors. Besides one could not compare an inexperienced young player against a seasoned player. Five years from now Fernandez will beat Badosa
These people sound so funny sharing half a brain. They keep claiming that Emma Ridiculous & Laylah Fake-nandez are inexperienced but denied their USO final was a fluke.
@@sciencekid7565 exactly. Fernandez should lost in r2 with anisimova. She was so lucky in that match..
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
Leyla did a great job mixing shots and hitting that forehand in the air winner was impressive. She gets overpowered by bigger opponents and hiting with more pace will help Leyla. Badosa did a great job attacking Leylas second serve and just overpowering Leyla at times. I felt Leyla played more strategically to get the shots she wanted. Good match to watch.
Great to see PB stay so mentally tough. Really happy for her!
Paula’s Serve was strong and help decide this match
Most comments go on about Fernandez but it's worth stressing that Badosa showed proper top 10 player mentality here, hopefully that will shut some mouths that claim she is undeserving of her ranking.
its because in comparison, Fernandez is young and inexperienced player against Badosa who is a well-seasoned player. they've just played equally the same, except Fernandez has plenty of errors, a reason she lost the game. Give time Fernandez for about 4 years, I'm sure she will beat Badosa
@@crestfinancehrconsulting6727 I mean, maybe? Assuming progress rate is dangerous - we get this wrong about tennis players all the time. Badosa has improved her game exponentially in the last year or so - I for one did not see this coming. Age is always a factor, yes, but only one of them.
@@crestfinancehrconsulting6727 yes she maybe will once, from 10 times. Seppi beat Federer once from 20 times but if we see overral nobody can't say that he is better player than Roger.
I’m a big Fernandez fan. But props to Badosa, she has a great game. Dangerous player for any opponent.
Badosa's result for her rank doesn't translate to slams unfortunately which is funny. NOt different from Kontaveit. Still an asterisk for me
Badosa's footwork is just flawless.
Leylah is a legitimate contender.. Good experience again tonight ..she needed it..Another year maybe, to reach the full maturity of her game..Keep playing Leylah you need all the experience you can get..Great effort tonight..
Nah this is her peak, even if she does get better, it won't be that much more
@@Max-ti5nq go away with your negativity haha, she's just 19 years old. The reason why she lost here because of her unreliable serve and opponent's power that she can't withstand yet forcing her to make errors look at the whole match for straight sets it took them 1 hr & 42 mins
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
Why wouldn't she be a legitimate contender?? she already has a Grand slam Runner up trophy in her Cabinet and she is 19, in order to get that she had to beat a lot of the top players. last time I check Paula doesn't even match her with one of those.
@@wrecker402 Just validating it ..A lot of viewers still think her winnings in USO was a fluke..They just could'nt accept the fact that Leylah is a good player and capable of beating top players any given time...
बहुत खुशी हुई।बदोसा ने बढिय़ा खेला और जीत हासिल किया।आगे के लिए शुभ कामना।
Even though thtis was a loss for Fernandez I have to say - very much enjoy her style of play and willingness to play some quirky shots. She's playing against top form Badosa (and like other said with something to prove) so it started out as an uphill battle. However, will definitely look forward to her matches in the future!
Fernandez could be better than Badosa four years from now. One could not compare an inexperienced young player against a well-seasoned one
I was sad that Leylah lost but I don’t mind as much if it’s against Badosa.
Emma is better
@@crestfinancehrconsulting6727 no worries, both Emma & Laylah will disappear like Melanie Oudine.
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
It's so interesting that in all of Fernandez' matches whether she wins or loses it seems that everyone is playing to her tempo her style of play even when they are aggressive players themselves like Badosa. I just think all of Fernandez' opponents feels rushed and crowded at all times. So many of her shots are half volley groundstrokes of fthe baseline, she never moves back, in fact she's usually moving forward giving her opponents even less time. Her style of play is so interesting and aggressive. I think a good play against her would be to play with a lot of top spin since she's not very tall, bring everything up to shoulder and higher especially on the forehand side. I could see a Kerijikova or a Swiatek giving her a very hard time.
The reasons why Leylah is difficullt to play is she has great sense of timing, she read cues from her opponent what to do ahead of time then predict and intercept the ball ahead of time before balls final landing and thats is what it called a total anticipation..Leylahs strenght is her gross motor skill and fine motor skill that enables her to recover the ball in lightning speed and perform a drop shots deccelarating from the full speed motion in amazing control and accuracy ..what an amazing tennis player..Im very excited to see her game after a year from now...The maturify growth will be fullly developed...
swaitek ,barty will dominate her
@@bibek6713 it’ll be interesting to see Leylah v Iga, Iga would trouble her but Leylah is mentally tougher.
@@samisankey3104i dont think fernandez is mantally tougher than iga iga won a gs at 19 and has won 4 wtp titles already at 20 years age at this tournament she came back from a set down in every round she did the same in dubai and won the title there dont think leylah has dont that constitently
Leylah has improved much better than Raducanu
Women's tennis is at a great level these days. Great match!
Always fun to watch Paula's games. She deserved to win
I'm a Leylah fan but Paula was just too tough, agreed.

@@vin-metal5192 Leylah has a bright future. She's very young n talented.
Right now Fernandez is most exciting player to watch. She looks so comfortable on court and has a brilliant pace to absorb aggressive shots. Her playing style is superb far better than other players of her age
Lol..the other player is way better.. she’s new on tour but she already won grandslam.
Leylah! She played some magnificent shots. On her way to being top 10. She's a star!

Badosa has been getting better and better. Took a lot to beat a blazing hot Fernandez. Impressive win.

Easy win 😏
Leylah ❤💖💙 lovelots from the Philippines! you played well today just look at the score. next will surely be yours! you are already on the 🔝🔜🏆
It was a tougher match than the score indicates for sure. Badosa had to really work for it.
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
The score line suggests it was a very close match. It’s just on the crucial moment in the end, Fernandez faltered. There wasn’t a big gap in the score line so It was obvious it wasn’t so easy for Badosa!
proud of Fernandez for playing what you will call professional Tennis now. very important shots, so great points.! she lost but playing high-quality Tennis now! Congrats Girl!
Nice game to both, ranking says it all. Badosa to remain consistent and Fernandez to continue improving while in younger experience.

Badosa won, i mean, I saw it coming. But Leylah fought so hard. I am so proud with the way Leylah played. Hopefully Badosa can defend her title.

LEYLA,KEEP ON PLAYING,YOURE STILL YOUNG,YOU HAVE THE HEARTH OF A FIGHTER...
leylah has improved a lot in 1 year. her game is gradually becoming more expansive & the wide array of shots she is willing to play is indicative of how much she has advanced from a mental perspective. i would be surprised if her favorite player isn't rafa. she modelling her game so much on his playing style which is almost impossible to miss. i'm pretty optimistic for her going forward. For paula this has to be time when she takes the next step to knock on the doors of top 3. she's gotta fight at the business end of wta tournaments more often now & may be 2023 we can have her as a regular in semi finals of grand slams. i love her commitment in every game, the physicality that she brings & the power of her ground strokes are adorable. she is the quintessential new age tennis player. i just hope she stays injury free & pushes herself to the next level.
A strong showing from Paula, but have to feel for Leylah - she really fought to the end.

Congrats to Paula for winning. Leylah gain so much on this match. Just like the other matches she fought before, i know that she will learn again from it and will still continue to inspire and give us a very entertaining and memorable fight.
Great Match very close leyal did well it’s just experience
Strong match for Leylah, but she fought so great. Way to go Leylah.. keep on playing and go for that Grand slam win in the near future!
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah.
Leylah has a lot of potential and seems to be improving a lot. I have underestimated her skill before but she has shown so much determination to get better and I won't be surprised if someday she wins a slam
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
Great play by both players. Badosa's serve made all the difference in this match. Still happy for Leylah getting this far, that was a very entertaining match.
Good match! Could have went either way. Congratulations to Badosa. Too strong today. Fernandez has improved her game. See only good things for her and a great future. She proved she belongs 👍
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
I know why we saw so many hightlights where Leylah won the point....although she lost the match...that`s because her game is so much more attractive to watch. Nothing - absolutely nothing agains Paula - she deserved to win - but I`d watch a match with Leylah instead of a match with Paula any day. Leylah does what makes female tennis so attractive IMHO....not just winning the point by power but by tennis intelligence, feel and variation...Leylah shows sooooo much of that. Leylah, for me you are a clear winner even if you are losing a match to a powerhouse like Paula...thanks for showing up on the tennis stages of the world...
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
Paula is so Solid !
LEYLAH FERNANDEZ IS SHOWING US STRENGTH. Even if you loss this match, we are still with you in the coming tours.
Hope paula can win this title again 💚💫🪙🏆
High level match for 4th round of the tournament. Both players played well. As long as they stay injury free, can see Badosa and Fernandez competing for Grand Slams over the next decade.
I actually love ❤️ tennis 🎾 what match up I clicked when I saw these two
Good effort from Leylah. She didn't win but her game is getting more intelligent.
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
BC IW so slow + bouncy Badosa was never really stressed of getting passed on too many straight up exchanges or even shots into the corners. She is super hard to beat on IW (her fave) which plays to all her strengths.
Paula’s Serve was strong and help decide this match
Great match. Congratulations 👏
I don't see the essence of watching this highlights without seeing those crucial moments of "Breakpoints" just my observations, enhorabuena Badosa Campeona !
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah.
Badosa is a carbon copy of Sharapova. Her movement, her strokes everything. Just wow.
Not really she moves so much better than Sharapova and is more consistant with top spin in her shots.
Maria hit everything all flat and Badosa is very much top spin with power in most of her shots. They are not similar at all. Your understanding of tennis is very limited.
Badosa has a monster serve NGL ..reminds me of young Serena .
Sharena?
Nice to see both women show this kind of focus and mental strenth.
both of them are my favorite tennis players, both have great fighting spirit, but Paula has good speed and consistency, so she can win, hopefully Paula wins this Tournament.
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah.
No matter what happens, you are still my Idol, Leylah ! That's Forevermore ! From the Philippines. 😍🇵🇭😍🇵🇭😍🇵🇭
Fernandez needs to improve her first-serve and gain some strength. Other than that, her game is top-notch. Go Leylah!

@@bigtradestennis571 could not agree more with you! Paula is a huge server and Leylah had a hard time returning anything.
Paula Badosa forever ♥️😍😍😍🏆🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I didn't know who to root for because I like both of these players. Leylah gave it her best shot but Paula was just too tough today.
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
Las dos bellas y talentosas . Un gusto verlas jugar.
Since that US Open Final Last year I would say Leylah is so much better player that Raducanu at the moment. The variety of her shots and placement and all. You can tell. All the best to her. She’ll definitely will be in the top players list in the coming years.
Without a doubt
amazing match.
Fernandez improved her game so much in these couple of weeks!
¡VAMOS BARDOSA!, UNA ESPAÑOLA , GRANDE
As a Spanish citizen I was with Badosa, who played better, but I’m a huge fan of Fernandez (which by the way is a Spanish surname) and I hope one day she’ll be n.1
Badosa was too strong for Fernandez , plain and simple . Better serve , better movements, better in terms of consistency and better at the key moments of the match . Fernandez continuing fighting was cool …but it doesn’t bring much without a solid server . Bummer that she couldn’t reproduce what she did with Rogers yesterday. Looking forward to see what Fernandez will bring in Miami . Props to Badosa for continuing to play like a champ🎉
The defending champ marches on!
Leylah can hold her head up high looking back on an incredible couple of weeks. She has a lot of maturity and mental fortitude for her age. She always gets tough draws and would have won against any other player with the top level tennis she displayed here. But it wasn't enough to beat Badosa who's always too much to handle for any opponent. These conditions are a match made in heaven for her. I can see only Iga as a real challenge for her.
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
Badosa may have the best face on tour and has a great game and Leylah is a terrific talent. Both women are pure class on the court. To me the decider is the power of the serve. Leylah has a very good motion but her lack of size and strength is a deficit in the woman's power game today. Only a handful of points decide an entire match and this will always be a tall mountain to climb. Consider Serena as the greatest server of all time in woman's tennis because she had the power of a man. She won countless matches bailing herself out with free points on her serve. She won by her serve. Of course she had great speed and power in her ground strokes as well almost like a Nadal but her serve is why she won so many slams. This will not be in the cards with Leylah. Badosa is bigger and stronger.
Brava Paula
@WTA - Wow! Great highlights. Match won by Paula , but somehow, mostly, winners from Leylah are highlighted.
Bravo campeona, preciosa 😊🤗☺️
Impressive game from both players !!
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah.
Come back stronger Leylah! That was an amazing match
Paula’s Serve was strong and help decide this match
still love Leylah.. the way she constructs points is beautiful and thoughtful... she plays like Hingis who also could not really handle power players...
Leylah did handle quite a few power players at the US Open. She needs to work a bit more on consistency, but that will surely come - she's still only 19. And I doubt her intelligence will desert her. BTW, I think she once said that she spends a lot of time studying entire tennis matches on video, like chess players study others' games. That is very impressive.
she is better than badosa. she only lost because she has plenty of errors
At Leylah’s age, Hingis already won a few majors. Unlike Leylah who won 0 major
@@pbfloyd9b different time..as you can see Hingis did not do much when the power game became established
I couldn't decide who I wanted to win this one since I love/support both equally. Then I decided for Paula since I want my favorite top players to stay put or climb in points. I don't think Leylah can go down from this but maybe gain a few points(?). Congrats to Paula on moving on, and Leylah: you did your best so keep your head up and keep practicing practicing practicing.
Same same. But it's great seeing Badosa beat the scrappy players too. Leylahs style prefers disrupting the rhythm, but Badosa didnt waver.
The Spanish woman is very powerful 😎
Great game both players, slightly biased coverage for Fernandez, apart from seeing the match point you would never guess Badosa won, (no coverage of her service break games at all).
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
Of course it would've been great to keep going, but being beaten in the 4th round by the defending champ is nothing to be ashamed of. Plus Leylah still has doubles to play. It's been a good tournament and I'm happy for her. Looking forward to seeing her in Miami.
Yes, at least she can focus on doubles now and maybe make finals, already took out #2 team the US open doubles champs
Doubles really isn't the same as singles victories. If you care about doubles look at mertens, or krejikcovas record.
Well, they are two different games, of course...look at Barty, Krejcikova they play doubles well and also #1 & #2 in singles...Serena and Hingis were great at both
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah.
Both are tennis giants; good luck in your next tournaments, Leylah, Paula don't stop until you endorse your previous title in this tournament.
Badosa got lucky today let’s wait for the next round good luck on your next match Badosa😀
I thought Fernandez played pretty well, but Badosa was on fire, especially her forehand.
Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah
Leyla has put up a match against the mighty badosa, very enjoyable match to watch!
Excellent high quality match. leylah was hitting some nice shots and Paula would hit some better ones back. In Leylahs previous match with Rogers, she seemed to be reading where the next shot was going, but with Paula, she didn't didn't seem to be reading her next shot well. Compliments to both ladies.
Fernández is serious, concentrated, intelligent. She played a great game and will continúe to improve.
BRAVA, Badosa! Great game!
You gotta post Anisimova vs Fernandez highlights. That match was still highlights-worthy even if you'd leave out the drama part.

Very good match, good job Paula and Leylah.
so Vn happy to see Badosa winning the games, she have no nice attitude and calm , professional player
Whoever put these highlights together is obviously a fan of Fernandez. Somehow, the scoreboard didn't reflect the highlights so closely, did they?
most of badosa's winner is her power serve and return and down the line forehand/backhand, that's it.
Muy fuerte y muy inteligente la señorita Badosa, le encuentro algo parecido en su físico con la diosa Sharapova, además tiene las piernas mas bonitas del tenis femenil.
Badosa was just another level above thru and thru, much like Anisimova was.
