Please maya, be very careful, I would not like to hear about a bad accident. You don’t deserve that. Please put plenty of props up, safety first it’s not worth the risk. Love your channel.
Must be really nice to be able to relax after hard work in your new warm room!
Hi Maya, normally I’m not the type of correcting people here, but as a structural engineer, I can’t help myself here… that way of making holes, isn’t the way - it’s not complicated I think, but please contact me or someone who is on top of this… so that we avoid cracks and the well-being of you and your mates… Kind regards from Denmark
I wish I'd known better, I do now. Believe me the nightmare this turned into was awful enough, but probably people will come at me for this. Thanks for offering your help though :)
@@mayafeliz no reason for laying it on you, you are doing a wonderful job, and shows so much joy in doing it… and it’s coming along fine…
@@mayafeliz❤
@@mayafeliz It’s not something people should come at you for, it would be a shame if you injured yourself or if the house suffers damage after you finish it, you put so much work in it. Since you made the balcony I’ve been thinking that my neighbor skimped on the structural project when they made their house, they just bought the architect project and decided to add some windows that weren’t in the project…and their balcony fell off. I’m no expert but maybe look into two columns to support it, it’s small and not that heavy but it can cause a lot of damage if it cracks.
@@minime7375Yes, and she weakened the wall under the balcony on which all leverage forces impact with the window. Hope all that holds up together.
Maya.....if I may suggest....a video of your life before Portugal! I'm sure I speak for many subscribers we all would love to know more of who you are and where you came from and what you've done! Give us a life story so far!
Window just below the balcony doesn't seem safe at all, makes no common sense and no scaffolding or studs... but that's just my gut feeling, not an architect..
Maya I find you irresistable, and terribly capable, keep making us happy!
maya please take notice of the structrual engineer comment below here
Hi maya, I've been watching your channel from the beginning and it's great to see you progressing each episode, keep up the great work 👍
Putting your own electrical outlets in. You are amazing!
That looks precariously scary😮. I think you should definitely put some kind of brace holding up upur porch. It too will come tumbling down some day
Maya, I love your videos! Don’t be afraid to use a weight lifters belt to help support your back when lifting heavy items.
I wear a back support brace for all strenuous jobs. I lifesaver!
agreed
Hi maya. I didn’t know you were an architect. That’s a bonus.
Next to the support, you should wash-rinse of all dust and sand-mud of the stones before motaring them. And make sure they are soaked so they do not take the moister out of the mortar and have maximum cohesion with the mortar. Good luck!
Definitely, pls read comments and these will help
Soak ur bricks.. a big bucket water and put a few bricks in at a time
She said she studied Engineering….
@@BARBIEJA4ANDI- I'm very surprised if that is so, based on her approach. Maya did admit that before owning this home she had never built anything personally. She is tenacious and I commend her resilience. Much of her applied experiments in renovation scare me! I have an emphasis in interior design, we learn about torsion forces, foundation technology and materials for safety.
Admire the way you work side by side with the builders, and continue after they have gone home.
Another priority project should be grading a driveway so you can drive down heavy items and get deliveries properly. It's pretty fundamental at this point.
Also, it is time to sink load- bearing posts to ensure the balcony has more than one safety against gravity and crown it with a railing. Maya may be part cat, but I get nervous watching her dangle from that balcony!
If you cut a slot for the first lintel and fix it in place you can safely take away the rocks on the other side and fix that lintel (or two). Works for me. Safety first, always! Love your hard work but not your safety precautions. Best wishes from Ibiza.
Never a dull moment with Maya around😂😂❤❤
We are all glad you are alright. Yes, get professional help with load-bearing renovations. Punching through a wall under a large balcony?!! Omg! Be safe. ❤
6:38 kind of makes sense that you’ll have some cracks upstairs if your shifting the walls below. Even if you had propped up the balcony. But now you know for the next building start from the ground up and wait on finishing touches until all structural work is completed. Stay well.
if finances allow buy some acrow props or similar often can be found used youll find you use them often much safer. good work well done.
Such grace and understanding on your part through such a taxing and trying endeavor! Your warm personality and always present smile brings back your followers time and time again! Grace under pressure is such a rare thing but also one of the beautiful when put on display for the world to see! Kudos to you, Maya! Until next time have a blessed and prosperous week ahead!
Hi Maya. If it is legally possible, it would be worth moving the water wheel to some structure in that river, there is sufficient water flow and it should generate electricity for 24 hours. And a larger generator would certainly tighten the wheel.
I'm taking this as my sign to go do some yoga. Love from America!
@Maya, you must be on something...perhaps Heineken Beers...that reaches part that other beers cannot. Always full of beans inspirational. You remind me on life on construction site. There is always one person with your personality that carries everyone else.
Love the fact that you included the goofy "yay dance", well deserved all around 😊👍
Hi Maya, I’ve been watching you from the beginning you are a beautiful, strong woman. God bless you and keep going skies the limit.❤🙏🙏🙏
Wooow.
I think your drawings for the bathroom, bedroom and utility room will look great x

Great job on the windows you are a amazing woman. Take care of your back.
Maya you should be proud you did an amazing job on the window frame. The plans for the stone house are lovely, looking forward to the transformation x
What a warrior! You GO, girl!
Well done Maya. Another step forward in the rebuild. Take care of yourself please 😊😊😊😊
sieht gut aus, weiter so!
I applaud your effort. live your dream
Somehow I really hope you learned something. The first beams you put in are designed for abobadilhas in ceilings and are not really good for lintels. Fortunately you bought the correct ones for the second window. Could not really see well the bearings, but they seemed to be kind of small for a stone wall. Finally, buy some steel props if you want to replace the floors in your other buidings - much safer and faster building.
I appreciate your very industrial construction in a beautiful location. Thanks for the videos.
Be safe because I l9ve your vlogs! I live in Cornwall and enjoy beaches similar to yours. Can't wait to see how you get on. Thank you for sharing x
Thank you lovely, well done : )
I have been a subscriber since your first video before you move on to the land , I am amazed how much you have done in just over a year i wait for your video every sunday , Be careful now you are moving on to the bigger renovations them walls are so thick , Stay safe and be proud of what you have accomplished ❤️ ❤🎉

🎉🎉🎉 What a beautiful amazing project. I’ve been watching the progress on your home for a long time now and just love it 😊. Everything looks so awesome over there. Keep on filming and I’ll keep on watching. Blessings from Paso Robles, California, Carlos
Maya your content is getting addictive
I totally feel your pain! So much stress comes from project renos! Glad you were able to get it fixed up. Always important to hire someone with insurance. Thay way any major issues are covered by them! Well at least thats how it works here. Not sure about portugal. Great video! Thx for the update.
Hi Maya, can I suggest you think about selling the Corsa and getting a van or a pick up. That age of Corsa is a classic and if you sell it before it gets damaged from carrying concrete around you could get thousands for that car
I enjoyed your video.
GREAT VIDEO !!!
coming along nice lee doing well love it
Beautiful beach
I love your videos, and you did such a great work with the house! I don't know if I am missing something, if you explained before, but I can't help but wonder where's the kitchen hahahaha
Maya Feliz, you are fantastic, you know how to tackle things and are making good progress. I have been following you for a while now and I always enjoy your activities, cheerfulness and your zest for life. I will continue to follow and watch for a while, fantastic! Wishing you continued success and for a long time to come. Greetings from the Netherlands! J.C. Moes.(72) Lelystad. 🌹🌹🌹
lovely video well done
hab dich erst vor kurzem entdeckt. Ich mag deine Videos, wie sie geschnitten sind und die Inhalte- mach weiter so!💪
Brilliant 🤩🤩🤩!!!!!!
All that weight of the balcony sure doesn’t help. Kinda why I mentioned I would have cut posts to support it last week. You can clearly see angled posts on the smaller balcony on the other structure. It just provides more strength and better weight transfer to the ground or foundation rather than relying on prayer and gravity. And yes, I do understand that there are literally millions of unsupported concrete balconies in high rises around the world but those are high psi 6-8 inch or 15-20 cm thick. I just want her to be safe and all the expense and effort to last a lifetime and not cause issues in the near future. Cheers.
O projeto 3D ficou incrível!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Maya, it looks great. Agree with some of the comments of putting in supports.. you’ve come such a long way with your dream. An accident would be devastating after all your efforts. As always I admire your hard work and willingness to learn. Love your plans. Will the room off the bathroom have outdoor access? I love that you’re mixing old with new. Look forward to the next video 😊
Amazing to see you do some yoga for your back strength
Hi from Italy, What you have achieved by not giving up is amazing. I love Nazare beach so amazing would like to go there again one day.
