In May of 2020 I had the desire to farm for profit. I had no industry connections, no farming background... I did not even own any land!
3 years later, by God's grace, my farm business grossed a little under $100k within one calendar year. This is farm business only, not media income. This is a simple business model that anyone can follow... and it does not require thousands of dollars in expensive advertising.
In this video I outline the 3 year process of building and promoting my sheep farm business on 23 acres. I hope that a look at my thoughts and strategy help you do the same for yourself!

About this Channel: This channel chronicles my journey as a sheep farmer from the very beginning. My primary occupation is in business management. In 2020, I discovered the principles of regenerative agriculture and embarked on a journey with the end goal of building a profitable small farm on 23 acres by 2027. Thank you for joining the journey!

  • So i am getting out of the military in 14 months and have been really obsessed with starting a sheep farm in Tx. Your videos have literally helped me build my confidence that I can do this. Thank you so much for helping everyone and doing this yourself. You are truly an inspiring human and I hope one day I am like you.

    • canopy9396 start the BGBG program ASAP. Enroll now if possible. Overlap it with your ACAP, as they won't know about the BGBG as its listed as "for veterans" but it is not a VA sponsored program, so it's elected not selected. Battleground to Breaking Ground is the technical name for the program. Download and print off all of The Sheperedess' blueprints and outlines and take them to class. Between you and me, the class is garbage, just like everything the army picks up without a contract, but it will put you in a cohort with others and it brings the people who can help you, into one concentrated local. They'll help with literally every paperwork aspect of starting a farm in TX as a veteran.

  • Anyone thinking of what they want to do in life. I suggest following this Shepard to learn more than most Universities teach in four years. Very specific and knowledgeable on what it takes to succeed. Her spirit is flowing and you do not need to make 100K. However your focus on what makes her talents shine is GOD based and we need more Shepherdess like her.

  • Just found your videos in the past week or so and have been watching a couple here and there. I'm finding them quite practical and helpful... I'm a single woman on 17.95 acres in Maine with a low mortgage, and would love to create a business that keeps me on the land instead of working at a tourist trap store in town. I can't do sheep, as my land is still too rough, but with your business plan in mind, I've been researching and trying to think of what I CAN do. It's been very encouraging, as for a long time I've been thinking "someday" and I finally feel like with your help I might be able to turn that into "soon." A topic I'd like to see you cover - taxes. As a person with no business background, the concept of learning how to pay self-employment taxes is extremely intimidating. Thanks for sharing your fascinating journey and for being clear in your testimony of gratitude toward God's provision. My guess on your break - getting married?

  • Love watching your videos and looking forward to using many of your suggestions on my place. This episode does point out one item most people don’t talk about. $100,000 investment and a return of $30,000 means $100,000 or pretty close to that is invested first. Farming is very cash heavy investment. The challenge is to come up with the $100k will be the hinderance to most people.
