I've been saying the exact same thing for years Rakim is number one, he changed the game.
Rakim is the GOAT, period.
No
Ummmm YES!!!!
And never cursed in his raps

Rakim is the father of Nas, Prodigy and the 90's rappers (a lot of them)
Even from makaveli
Prodigy and pac yes nas father is kool g rap
@@brandonfunkeu8029 Nah I don't see a lot of Rakim in Pac.Tupac was like Ice Cube meets Scarface meets LL Cool J.Nas & Prodigy are definitely from the Rakim tree, tho.
@@dirtyface-capone7622 Well u right tho but if pac wanted to be like rakim he was. Listen to brenda´s got a baby. There´s lot of rakim
@@brandonfunkeu8029 I'm a Pac historian/encyclopedia.Pac was in his Rakim steeze when he first moved to Marin City in the late 80's.That was his early development, tho.He had a song called "The Case Of The Misplaced Mic" that had a very NY/Rakim vibe.By the time he got put on with DU, he evolved passed that stage. You didn't hear it anymore once he blew up.It became more Cube, Face, LL.
It's great to see Em respect the greats.
P.s. Nice name 💜🦪🦄p.s. not meant as sarcasm. Fyi 💜
Em always puts greats above himself
No mean to offend you, but you do know, that eminem ALWAYS respected the greats. Even in his early days
@@LCH.RawMan Yeah I do mate
Eminem always has put others above himself. It's a part of what makes him great🤣
From century to century You'll remember me in history Not a mystery or a memory- Rakim

Isso é bem aleatório Mas no meu idioma que é o português também rimou kkkk que magia é essa
"He couldn't follow the leader long enough so I drug him." Talking about Big Daddy Kane, who was good, but not even in the same universe as Rakim.
Em is a student of the game

When you see rappers like these gives credit back to Em, same thing with big daddy kane, cool g rap... All these legends who came before Em and they have nothing but respect for Eminem, same thing Eminem has for them, and then you see today's generation rappers throwing shades at him.. You know it's just fucked up shit.
T Pain (Who not even a youngin like that) & dissing Pac. New school ignorant & so disrespectful fortunately not all of them tho
@@AfroPick82.. True..
facts
And that's why Eminem is who he is! Because of rappers like Rakim that pushed that bar, so Eminem had to go further then the regular standards! And that's why 90's Hip Hop will always be Number 1!
They throw shade cause his MUSIC is terrible now . Hip-Hop isn't only about lyricsm, flows and production matter just as much and he lacks it severely no matter what you Stans say . If he went back to the Eminem show production instead of watered down mainstream beats with Beyonce featured on it he'd get a lot more praises but nah .
Rakim changed the way rappers rapped and he’ll always be in my top 5 ! I study his rap style and it’s influential to me when I rap !
Boy you couldn't rap a gift.
No disrespect but....Rakim is not a rapper...He is an EMCEE...there is a big difference...
😂@@thegamingchef3304
The 18th letter...Rakim is ALWAYS on my list
The master also for me, i quite enjoyed the seventh seal too, but i grew up listening to the 18th letter and the master since i was a pickney my dad used to blast those albums
Guess Whos Back and Stay A while are on my everyday rotation

Absolutely, I’m STILL absorbing lyrics Ra said back in ‘88😅
Facts
That one line, I Ain’t No Joke was my introduction to HipHop and never looked back!
Thank you Em for saying it. They don’t put enough respect on his name. Still, you are one of the best to ever do it. Seriously
This is why Rakim will always be on my list
I got rakim as my #1 too. He's the one that got me into listening to rap
RAKIM 🐐
The God MC. Great live show back in the day when The 18th Letter came out. He was shining on the stage like the light was coming from inside him.
The God EMCEE, friend.
Rakim calls em the goat lol. Rakim is the pioneer/teacher that paved the way for a student to surpass him. They are both the best ever for different reasons.
The God EMCEE never called Em the GOAT. 😂
@@DjTIMEJD ya you clearly never seen the interview, carry on casual….
@@fatdan172501 I saw it and my word is bond, cac.
@@DjTIMEJD then you’re straight lying lol. If he said show him someone better, or that if em was black he would be like Ali of rap etc, that’s calling him the best.

I vividly remember the summer day in 1986 at my boys house...he’d just got back from visiting fam in the NYC/NJ area (we lived in the DMV) & he’d made a tape of either WBLS or 98Kiss FM I can’t remember but it had “Eric B. is President” on it....mind you Run DMC was at their peak & here comes Rakim with some shit that sounded like it was from outer space & I loved it immediately ....he’s still to me the greatest to ever do it hands down....he is hip hops Jimi Hendrix ....all love from the DMV/Baltimore 🖤💙❤️
I love that he gives people their flowers!
And Rakim barely cuss 🔥 🔥 🔥
I grew up in this era of rap,Rakim's delivery was so smooth
Facts! Em my nigga yo I rock wit him! He does so much shit behind the scenes in rap you can't deny hum
He is the greatest lyricist of all time ❤️
This is why the hip-hop community loves and respects Eminem. Because he shows love and respect back.
Rakim created lyrical techniques that a lot of the best rappers who came after him still use to this day. And even now, there are very few who can even stand in his shadow lyrically.
When that beat dropped and you heard “I ain’t No Joke, I used to let the mic 🎙️ smoke now I slam when I’m done and make sure it’s broke” you knew it was heat 🔥
“Inside rhyme scheme”, I always wondered if there was a name for it. Em took that to another level
I didn't grow up listening to Rakim. But when I first heard one of his songs in the late 2000s I like him.. he was before his time
Eminem has supreme lyrical ability but Rakim was supreme as well and REALLY elevated the Hip-Hop game when it came to rapping.
Rakim Allah been the GOAT
don't put Allah with rakim
don't put god with human dude
I just put you in the conversation as the goat 🐐 respect ✊🏿 to hear you say that is omg moment Rakim is my first artist I ever heard rhythm and he’s my goat
Em has always given Rakim his props. Em respects the goats.
So dope to hear the Goat speak so highly about another Goat.✊🏽✊🏽
I'm so glad Em has said this so that all you younger genz while understand the impact Ra had when he came through the door.
My melody blew my mind first I heard it.The God MC
Yes rakim is one of the best super smooth delivery & fire word play
Bro Marshall is so poetic in the way he talks like wtf dude😮
“I hold the microphone like a grudge” Is the single most exceptional one-liner in hiphop history.
Rakim was like a decade ahead of his time as far as complex rhyme schemes goes. Em has insane rhyme schemes as well. There’s several factors in rapping but on the complex, multi syllabic rhyme level they’re both in that GOAT tier
All the above without cursing, fly and sexy. Rakim is that dude fr fr
Rakim is a true legend pure fire extremely good point 🙌🙌🙌🤌
Rakim has always and will always be one of my favorite artists of all time.
This is life... This is true.. Respect From 90s.
Em is on it. My favorite is "Follow the leader" and I aint no joke too! I'm not just a Uniform.
Yes Em, Respect🙌🏾🙏🏽♥️
I wish they gave more info on shorts to see full interviews.
Right. Like bro the fuck is this like the whole thing you just took smh
Rakim has poetry in his style that is not replicated by any yet to this day where you can understand every word and hear every beat as he speaks.
Facts, Rakim a pioneer 😎
He definitely needs more respect I think bc he is a lot older than other rappers people forget how important he really is to the genre
Not “is a GOAT”…IS THE GOAT. Rakin Allah changed the entire game
I say the same thing at work every time we have this conversation.
only rakim don't say rakim Allah (don't say god's name with human)
@@Id_give_a_sht Religious freak you all over the comment section, stop that
Rakim a legend he revolutionized the game and inspired so many amazing rappers
Em Bro . . You killed It. Rakim and the whole clan was Crazy...gang rap was the stuff o liked
He speaks the truth. Rahim was one of the first lyricists
Legends recognise Legends
Regardless of his later albums, this is why I respect em. He gives it up to those who do they thang. Yell
bro RAKIM IS BEYOND LEGENDARY STATUS HES LIKE A PHAROAH OF HIP HOP
Eminem inspires me to keep making my music. I’m a rapper too, but I’m not very good yet.
He inspires me to write my lyrics too. I don't rap yet but damn I wish I had the strength to.
Just gave you a listen and subscribe I’m a writer too..Keep the good work bro!!
He father the lyrical MC's
and he did it without cursing in his rhymes.
Em is so damn dope.
Two thing I can listen for ever ‘em talking hip hop and Tyson talking boxing
Rakim and big daddy Kane
Kane Rakim and G rap
Love how Em gives respect to the old school rappers he doesn't take them for granted like a lot of artists do
Em is such a hiphop historian💪💪 he knows his shit
Rakim is Rakim💓👌... He was game changer🙌
Yesss Rakim is that dude ❤
Em always giving props to the pioneers, respect
Rakim will always be on my GOAT list and that’s real
Rakim was so underrated. His timing and writing was immense.I still listen to those tracks that I grew up listening to.And he had a great voice too.
And that's what EM did as well. My 2 favorite Emcees. Rakim & EM
Eminem always rate others not only himself
Em gets alot of shit from the hip hop community, but truth be told he is a real student of the culture and is very knowledgeable compared to the rappers many glorify. Rakim is the mic of the gods for real. The ultimate goat.
em is a true student of the game
Big Daddy Kane is also up there with Rakim as one of the first to bring lyricism to another level
Just today I was listening to Rakim and thinking Eminem must’ve learned a thing or two from him, and then I see this video 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Rakim definitely changed the game back in the day. Facts 💯
Em is the ultimate Hip Hop nerd. He has mastered the art and shows love to his peers and biggest influences.
True, greatness can be about pioneering , not just about creative skill
Eminem was the reason I found out about Rakim long time ago. I had a super strict family and the first two Rap CDs I secretly bought were the Eminem and The best of Biggie smalls... Dead Wrong became my project, learning it and imitating Biggies voice lol. I still rap it to myself a couple times a year
Rakim ALLAH brought the lyrical science!! PERIODT!!
Rakim= lyrical genius.
ive honestly never heard somebody sandwich rhymes like Rakim. like Paid In Full was fairly simple but his stuff in the 90s was next level.
TALK THAT TALK EM‼️ BIG FACTS
Eminem giving Rakim his Props!!! Truly A Class Act!!!
This is why Eminem is in the GOAT discussion, he recognizes talent more than most. He modeled his rhyme style off of Rakim (another member of the GOAT discussion), was responsible for 50 getting signed, formed D12 which had multiple talented members. His rhyming is GREAT, but his recognition of talent is AMAZING!!
Rakim is certainly in the top ten uh huh
imagine thinking he isn’t haha. Without him rap would be like a decade behind where it is
It was so dope when Eminem put Rakim on the 8-Mile Soundtrack. I’m going to listen to that track right now. Either I didn’t know a song by Rakim or I didn’t care about Rakim as an emcee until Slim Shady gave Rakim a spot on the soundtrack.
You had to be a mid 80’s hip hop head to know Rakim! Straight legend!!!!!
Eminem is like a professor to me. His skills been scholastic and he's reached scholar level.
Rakim is iternationally known, the God MC 🔥
First TIME I SAW Rakim in Concert, I was SO YOUNG. But I Remember saying to myself, he carries himself like a KINGGGG. I'll NEVER forget that moment. I been Rockin ever since.
Rakim is my favorite rapper Eminem has good choices
Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap and even LL Cool J were the 4 who took hiphop/rap to another lvl. But don’t forget N.W.A too…
KRS 1 You must learn & Why is That late 80's conscious🔥 dude seriously needs his⚘2
LL doesn’t get enough credit . 15 years old out rapping guys 10 years his senior
Rakim will be ahead of his time for a very long time yet!
Rakim is the G.O.A.T.,there is no other above him.
What Em is basically saying is If there was no Rakim there might’ve never been an Eminem/Slim Shady
EXACTLY EM Always pays respect to the Artists that were great that came before him! Those guys were and still are his Teachers!
I love their mutual respect for each other. Ems payed homage to his idol Rakim many times throughout his career & Rakim called Em the Ali of rap & one of the greatest lyricist ever🐐🐐
Rakim changed the way EVERYONE Rapped after he came to the Scene
Rakim= Rap God🔥
Rakim Allah ain't nothing to play with, and this why I love Eminem cause he shows respect 💯💯🔥🔥
Now to go jam out to "Follow the Leader"
"Microphone Fiend" my Rakim go to
