    • I saw Alien with my dad at home back in the 80s. I was way too young to see it. By far the scariest movie for me. Exorcist is a close second. American Werewolf in London horrified me too. They don't make scary movies like they used to. I could make one really damn scary. Maybe a dogman (werewolf) versus a sasquatch. That could be a killer script. Maybe the dogman is hungry and kills a hiker. Then develops a taste for humans and sasquatch steps in to stop it. There is an unwritten code to not kill humans. The problem is that neither creature can talk. But maybe that would make it even better. We need something different in helly wood. I'm sick of the demonic crap. Its not scary its just demonic.

  • I swear Fede is living every film makers dream. Gets whisked away to Hollywood after his short film. First film maker from his country to get to make films like this already making history. His first film off the bat is evil dead and Sam raimi becomes his mentor. His next film is entirely original and is a big hit that spawns sequels. Now he's working on one of the most important properties in cinema history and getting notes and praise from two of the greatest living directors. Guillermo del toro loves this guy for a reason. He's the real deal. Can't wait for this.

      @jasoncruizer@jasoncruizerАй бұрын
    • @@jasoncruizeryou're right, money is the only thing that matters right? What was I thinking talking about the fact he gets to work in the exact way that fosters the creativity of a good filmmaker and talking about how impressive his trajectory is. For starters, Failures make you better anyway. But since you're focusing on money: This guy gets to continue working on massive ip regardless . And they handed him 100 million to make alien with the reported extra fifty from scottfree/disney. If his 12 million dollar failure with girl with the dragon tattoo had hurt him (which was insured by sony btw) , do you think they would hand him alien and 100 million? Also that movie wasn't a sequel to finchers film. He's produced 3 films in that 6 year interim and developed a TV show. This dude was plucked from obscurity because of a short he made for no money, on his own. and now he's working on alien. No one from his country has EVER done that....but you're right money is all that matters. Maybe I should have said 'every film makers dream except those who only care about box office' my bad...😂 I didn't say he was the most financially successful director or the best DIRECTOR period or even that his movies are great or that this alien film is going to be amazing (though I hope it is) . I was saying this guys trajectory and the people who he's working with and being praised by, is impressive given where he started. But obviously our metrics for success are waay different. Making films is hard. Try it sometime.

The original Alien was so successful because the xenomorph was on screen so little, and you only saw it briefly, exactly as you would if it was coming to get you. I really hope this film captures that, and doesn't show the alien too much. It also looks like the scenes, tech, weapons have continuity with where it should be in the order of films - if it's set between 1 and 2, it needs to have the same aesthetic.

  • Great job job guys...Love the channel. Nice to see the director's overview of a favorite project. A'lvarez appears bright, insightful and driven. The trailer is Stellar...just enough to hook the audience...without giving anything away. Too many trailers are heavy handed and over exposed....this one is just right. Also nice to see the nostalgia element...we want the horror aspect of the film. The past few movies were just too...complicated. We fans...want a more linear approach I guess. This is very promising.....Again, Great job!

  • It makes me feel so good to listen a director talking about the project he's into instead of his personal activism or his sexual issues. The teaser is great, the director is great and he knows the saga, didn't tell bs to sell it, debrief with the right poeple, he knows where to go with this franchise, thank god!

I was hooked and sold and I can't wait for this, I love the fact that Fede has used Practical sets/props etc everywhere he can and is using CG as minimaly as he can xxx love and respect to him as a story teller xxx And also to you all @ The Movie Podcast xxx Keep Doing What You ALL do so well xxx

  • one of the things i loved about the score of the alien movie jump scares, they were always a split second after the jump. like the music was an audience reaction sound and not the movie music on the jump moment. facehugger comes, then sound on ripleys reaction. and music would cut as the alien reached out. very clever

  • I love that there is nothing I feel I disagree on with the way he talks about this movie. I hope the story doesn't have too much Scott or Cameron influences, although I loved their original work their recent story work has been so synchronized with their new vision. I think I can speak for many that we just want to relive those first two movies through a fresh lens and not such a huge departure from what made thoae movies so good to begin with. I hope Romulus delivers on that front.

  • If you look at the directors take on evil dead he did many years ago. He did beautiful I may add. His ability to blend both both alien with aliens, and the game really laid the whole picture the backdrop we need to relate the two. As long as its not a "force awakens" safe movie, we should be in for a cool film.
