They were produced in Poland at the Truck Factory in Lublin. About 5,000 transporters were produced, some for the Polish army and some for the Czechoslovak army.

so may sound like a silly question but how do the locks on the doors work are there keys or something to open from the outside

The door "key" is just a big handle really. Not really a lock at all, but designed to keep the doors air/water tight for swimming or CBRN defences

I am looking into buying an OT-64, but I am wondering is the Skot strong enough and capable enough to operate in an hill environment or is it an big no no to use it in such terrain?

it can climb a 60 degree angle
