Star Wars Millennium Falcon automatized model [ Altaya / Deagostini ]
This Millennium Falcon from Star Wars took me a long time to complete, involving a full customization from the base model released by Altaya/DeAgostini.
3D printing additional/custom parts, painting, sculpting, engineering and building an electro-mechanized arm, programming the sequences and light patterns along some sound design.
I also did design and build the dedicated cabinet with an integrated sound system.
The final step was to design and make a remote to operate everything.
Some technical details:
-More than 100 LEDs.
-More than 100 meters of optic fibers.
-Cockpit side panels have been drilled (more than 70 times) to place 0.2mm rods to look like switches
-Engineered, stainless steel electro-mechanized arm.
-The cabinet is 100 x 80 x 84cm surrounded with aluminium to hold a High grade anti-UVprotective cover .
-The Millennium Falcon is 80 cm long x 60cm wide.
-3D printed Dejarik (game table) pieces are approximately 4 or 5 millimeters.
-The training sphere shooting lasers is 3 millimeters
-Characters are approximately 3cm .
-R2-D2 can be placed either near the Dejarik table or near Han solo's computer (in place of Obi-wan)
-C-3PO HAS A SILVER LEG
-3D printed custom parts were added in the cockpit, main room, exhaust grill..
-The landing feet have been resculpted and customized, landing feet side covers have been hand sculpted.
-The textures on the outer shell have been carved/sculpted
Sequences can be switched to French.

I've never seen anything quite like this. The sound system together with the lights switching on and off during dialogue to replicate scenes really brings everything to life. It almost feels like being in a museum watching your Millennium Falcon. Amazing job man!
Thank you! You described exactly what I've tried to achieve, I guess the goal is reached 😁 I'm glad you enjoyed it !
Absolutely amazing! I´m a Star Wars fan since 1977. Your work is unique and should be in a museum. This is a masterpiece!
Thank you very much! Greatly appreciated, especially coming from a fan of the original movies
Ok… this is unfair. One of a kind!?! This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen! I need one in my life!
Thanks, means a lot! 🙌
A walk down memory lane of the finest sci-fi film ever made using "the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy" as a backdrop. Amazing presentation..Bravo!
Thank you very much! 🙌
There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said already. Your attention to detail, right down to light sequencing is second to none. Absolute stunningly, amazing work!
Taking the time to write down your thoughts with your own words is what matters :) Thank you very much ! 🙌
A pure piece of art, it would be loved in a museum for Star Wars fans for an Millenium!
Thank you very much! I love this idea
I wanted to leave a comment with all my thoughts about this model, but there are just two words which describes them all: "incredible beautiful".
Two powerful words are better than a huge redundant paragraph :) "Thank you"
Awesome model. Also highlights the fantastic sound design of the OT movies.
Thank you! The OT sound design was really ahead of its time, very creative
This is the single coolest custom star wars piece I've yet laid eyes on. The fact that I can't get one saddens me greatly. The level of skill you have shown is most impressive. Especially the painting of the craft and crew. Just wow. I wish I could airbrush my Bandai models half as well as you
Thanks for your kind comment, Brent! Practice, practice and practice; with time you'll paint them as good 💪 For me it began as a hobby (I clearly had not my actual skills) and with lot of dedication it's now my job. It takes time (years) but it's possible! Again, thanks for your comment, I'm happy to have such positive reactions 🙌
@@somewhereinagalaxyfarfaraway I've removed the troll, all is good now 🙌
Wait a second, you made this?? This is absolutely unbelievable!! I want one so badly!!
Yes, I did do it ! Glad you like it!
@@seppunsystems You should let Hasbro know, thay need all the help thay can get since the D&D OGL debocle.
The various layers of sounds of the Millennium Falcon penetrates and soothes my soul. I love it. Well done.
Thank you, glad you find it soothing :)
"automatized" is my new favorite word. The model and additional work put into this is stunning too.
Glad you like both the work and the word ! (Apparently few people know about automatize, automated is used more frequently) Thank you very much!
That is fantastic. I'd love to see a behind the scenes / how-to for making this!
Thank you very much, Jason! Sadly, a magician never reveal his best tricks 😉
Incredible. No other word for it. Beautiful, enviable work all around.

This is really a nice piece. You should see if someone would put something like that into production it is that good. The level of detail on the control panels is really impressive.
Glad you like it! Those control panel weren't the easiest part, I must admit

It is truly an amazing piece of "live art". I still remember watching episode 4 at the drive in theatre back in 1977. Watching your video has brought back so many cherished moments. You are the epitome of genius when it comes to this model. What a fantastic video on my favorite all time ship. Thanks for sharing your skills with the world.
Thank you very much for the nice words, Max. I'm happy that my work has been able to bring back cherished moments to your memory, it really means a lot to read that. Sincerely, thank you 🙌

@@seppunsystems this must be something done for the love of the project. It would be really difficult to sell it for an amount commensurate with the hours you’ve spent on it and skill involved. Hats off to you. Your dedication is without question. It’s an amazing piece of work.
Perfectly well done piece of art. It's amazing how fans still love Star Wars all these years later, myself included.
Thank you very much, greatly appreciated! The original trilogy was ahead of its time, I think it helped making it timeless.
very detailed throughout its functionality, and I love looking at it

Curious, How long to create and, cost?
@@cptkillemall1403 more than 3500 hours of work, there are some more technical details in description if you're curious about it. Regarding price, I don't plan to sell it immediatly :)
Thats amazing. A screen behind it providing visual effects for the sequences would put it out of this galaxy
Thanks! Can be easily achieved, nice idea!
One word: Stunning! The attention to detail is incredible. I saw the original in 1977 opening night after begging my mother to take me. I didn't really know what to expect except from pictures on Time magazine. This 8 year old kid was awestruck from the opening scene. Thanks for sharing this masterpiece.
Thank you, Randy! I'm glad to bring back pleasant childhood memories!
I think this may be the coolest thing I have ever seen in my entire life.
Thanks! Means a lot!
Wow. Amazing. Woulda love my falcon from 77 do this when I was kid

I want it, I need it, haha, this is beyond epic. If you made more of them and each one nicely customized, you could sell them, dang I want to buy one right now, it would be a dream come true.
Thank you, Eric. Glad you like it!
Awesome it s Just awesome😱😱 can t believe this ! You desserve the gold medal ! I m so impressed ! Congratulations !
Thank you very much Rick ! Glad you like it ! 🙌
This is absolutly stunning! A labor of love no doubt. Your attention to detail is second to none, this could be used for shooting in a film sequence. What really sent me over the edge was during the cockpit scene when the falcon was having electrical issues, you could see the controll panel lights come on and off in a way where it made it look like Han and Luke were moving around in the cockpit. Well done!!!
Thank you very much, Roger! I'm glad you've been able to notice and appreciate the details in the sequences! 🙌
This gives me so many ideas for my perfect grade Bandai falcon. Now to test out my engineering skills. The lightsaber training sequence looks like a nightmare to wire, congrats!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
In all honesty, the wiring wasn't hard, it just requires proper forethought. The most annoying part was the internal metallic structure for a lot of reasons. The Bandai doesn't have one if I remember correctly, it will save you a lot of hassle.
Amazing! ILM would be proud
Thank you very much! That's such a kind compliment !
This is really cool. You should do this with the starship Enterprise too.
Thank you! The Enterprise already crossed my mind once or twice, so, who knows 🖖
yeh you went above and beyond on this
Thank you!
INCREDIBLE!
Thanks!
Jealousy, envy...no words can describe how I feel about what you have here. I'm blown away. Amazing.
Thank you, it was a lot work but worth it in the end apparently. Cheers!
@@seppunsystems Let's for laughs say you were going to put a price tag on this. What would it be? Looking at your web page, you have some amazing, stunning work.
@@EDGeProjects thanks for checking the website! My works are usually kinda affordable, not on the cheap side though. But for the Falcon(even if not for sale immediatly)... that's a completly different story. Let's say a nice car (but maybe our conceptions of what a nice car is aren't the same 😁)
@@seppunsystems Wellll...maybe maybe not. Here's one of my rides. kzhead.info/sun/id6dnK5-mJWdoq8/bejne.html I have another that I should post a video of but it is not good at all in snow :)
@@seppunsystems I also used to build a lot of models but have gotten more into building Halloween decoration stuff. My Fine Molds Millenium Falcon looks forlorn at me with about 8 years of dust on the barely opened box. My current project is turning the Nerf Aliens M41A pulse into something that looks more film accurate
As Vader would say... "Impressive.. MOST impressive!" Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you! And thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!!!
Beautiful one. I need it.
Glad you like it! Feel free to add me on IG or FB to know when it will be up for sale
Congrats! The Millenium Falcon is not only the fatest ship of the galaxy, it's the coolest of all Times!
Thank you! It, indeed, looks cool!
Oh! 😮 This is Awesome. I got to get one.
It's one of a kind :)
Incredible!
Thank you! 🙌
Awesome!! One of a kind.
Cheers! 🙌
You did an amazing work here, i have followed a couple of builders making this ship in the past. And they where not always happy with the build construction. Seeing this you have overcome most of them as it seems. Beautiful. As a tech geek, i love to see the inside of the ship (the wires and controls for the leds etc,) and how you maid the lifting arm.
Thank you Niels! The base model is not complicated to build, but some of the parts have to be reshaped a bit to fit properly. From a fellow tech geek to another, cheers! 🙌
impressive. Most impressive.
Thank you! :)
Incredible 👍🏾
