2010 I went to Brazil to learn to do the Brazilian way and boy they use sticks branches and rebars to bring back in such perfection that's almost magical!
True story. Those guys are talented and industrious. For me, I’ll stick with the tools I have, but mad respect to them
The Best PDR teacher out there hands down!!! "Dent Map" Baby
Thank you Jim. You have been generous with your time & techniques. This video has been very helpful to me. Much appreciated........Kim
This video just popped up on my feed. Watched it all and think it’s excellent. I think the way you show how it’s done and explain it, is very good indeed.

Спасибо за подробный показ !!👍💪🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
you are amazing man !!!
Impressive ! thank you for such a detailed video !
My pleasure!
Those first two hard to get tools wouldn't be too hard to fabricate for yourself. (If you couldn't Get them.) Can't get it, make it.. Welder and a torch go a long way. Great informative videos. Thank you.
love your videos btw!
Great stuff. thanks
For the ppl that disliked this video i want to see your work
And old school metal finishing tip that you can apply: In the beginning, when you are pushing, stop and hole the pressure on, and gently tap on the crown. Dont hit it so hard you deform it, but tap gentile to "Nudge" it into letting go of its stress. Use a "slapper", or your metal hub cap hammer.
Good info thank u 😇
Hats off for your presentation technique. Very pleasant to watch, thanks!
well done
Thank you very much your video
Very nice 🙂
KAWAŁ DOBREJ ROBOTY 😁
Good one bruh thanks
Thank you
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
Great content as always....Thanks Jim🙏
Very amazing 💪💪💪👌👌👌
When I own the body shop we used to do this but back in those days we use the hammer and Dolly
Great 👍 best regard’s from Germany
jimmy. nice to see you. did i ever tell you your channel is going to blow up!
Haha once a long time ago you told me something about that
I can't believe someone could dislike this great video
Ahhh, people find reasons to hate on things. It’s ok, I’ve got thick skin!
I'm going to dislike it on the grounds of creating tons of high spots while pushing from behind, I'd say about 80% of those high spots could've been avoided if he had been more careful and PATIENT. He just made a lot more work for himself by creating all those high spots that he had to knock down.
Hey Jim thanks for yet another awesome video! One question, You said you used to use a Slapper Tapper for this kind of crown before. Is that a Dent Dial or one the red or blue ones from Keco I think? I ask because I'm trying to get a handle on my new Dent Dial Slapper, thanks
Спасибо!!! 😊👍👍👍
Thank you so much for this video متشکرم
Nice
Hi, your works are mind blowing. May I know where we can buy these tools and brand name?
You should do an aluminum door dent ON the body line. Like the 2020 Ford SuperDuty pickups.
I’m real interested in knowing what the end cost would’ve come out to for the average customer, I get you did it for a wholesale customer but the reason I ask is because I’m curious to what the cost would’ve been with PDR vs just changing out the panel!!
Dude thats Insane!
I’m new to this so can you explain the science behind banging on the dent to take the dent out? I’m definitely a starter so definitely would like to know.
Did you remove that pressure dent from your thumb on the bottom of the wheel arch at the end of the video?
how much time you spend for repair that fender ? and how much your charge for repair ?
the light reflection makes a bend when it goes over the body line at the repair area. doesn't that indicate theres some locked up tension there that wasn't released?
I signed up a couple of days ago .......kinda screwed it up i might be on the monthly plan but i need the 101 ! I'm waiting on tools ! i've been watching pdr 101 but i can't do much i've done a few glue pulls in the past ! Jim kinda knows about it ...just waiting on my light mainly! oh and my poker!
The monthly comes with the 101 content, and you get the Anson goodies!
@@RealWorldPDRTraining i got it i received a letter telling me to join and it's like did i get lost ! So I was just checking
@@RealWorldPDRTraining great!
How long does this actually take if I missed it? And how much can you charge for this?
During the first massaging above crease you mentioned the area below came out on its own. Yet I clearly see marks where your tool also pushed this lower area outward. No big deal, but your comment was that it came out by itself. And as a collision repair tech I understand metal. So yes it would want to release as you massage the crease outward. However the marks left by your tool show a different story. So we’re you just wrong about what you said- or were you misleading your audience. However regardless you are a master at PDR and should continue doing training for beginners. Kudos to you and continued success. Once more however: I don’t know that anyone could actually learn these skills on an online course. Unless they have a clientele of dents coming in to practice on. If I believed it would help me I’d subscribe today as I want to add the PDR to basic body skills to try and speed up or save money on materials thereby earning more per hour. Thank you.
Well, I’ve got hundreds of techs that would tell you otherwise. It can be learned with guided practice that I have available on Real World. I’m not going to re watch this video to see what exactly you’re talking about, but I assure you I’m not misleading anyone.
Excellent content! What if you’re unable to access it from the back? Have an identical dent but the back of my fender has a 1 inch hump impeding my access
One inch hump? Is it the fender liner?
What’s the cost comparison compared to getting a replacement part
Hi, I have a huge roof dent covering the whole left roof rear quarter. It includes some deep creases at the left roof rail. Can I get by with some basic minimal PDR tools? Thanks.
PDR isn’t something that generally goes well for a DIY guy. I’d recommend finding a good PDR technician in your area. It takes years to learn this skill well enough to even repair moderate damage well. What you describe seems pretty extensive. It’s entirely possible you’ll make the damage worse and unrepairable if you try yourself. Sorry for the bad news, I’m trying to be honest here.
I have a very similar dent in my car. How much something like this repair will cost me?
and whats up with them new silverados you get cleanup close and still if you think its done and if you step back 5 feet away it still looks like not right.i have been rushed lately from boss and thats not good im close and hes like whats taking so long and the 2019s and newer have aluminium rear doors now to front doors metal
Witchcraft! 😅 This s like watching a magician! So interesting and amazing to see this process.
Quá tuyệt vời
At the finishing stage, how do we differentiate between those tiny lows and highs? How do we recognize them?
That’s an excellent question! Learning to read your light Is the first step to answering that. If you find yourself in a situation that you’re confused what you’re looking at, always grab your knockdown and even up what you know is high to start. Id strongly recommend hopping on www.realworldpdr.com I answer everything in depth there. New sign ups also get 100 dollars worth of Anson store credit so it’s risk free and then some!
Does the light matter when doing this?
Absolutely light placement and how to read your light is the most important thing. An absolute building block. Of course I explain exactly how to use your light at www.realworldpdr.com
Instead of going smaller and smaller, could you go larger (like the hubcap tip, or some kind of roller) and sort of "burnish" the texture out?
I think with a larger tip, especially like the hubcap you’re going to lose accuracy and also move a lot more metal than you’d like to. But hey, give it a try! Maybe you’ll stumble on something we should all be doing
How long did this repair took please?
Great question, I wonder that, too. Also, how much of the total work is shown, in all, plaback speed notwithstanding. Thanks
this is so cool!! how much can i expect to earn if i get good at this? im in CT
I’ve trained a couple of techs from CT, and I can’t speak to exact numbers, but I know one is into six figures for sure.
Thanks @@RealWorldPDRTraining I def want to get into a shop and get some time in. Maybe I can order a starter kit and experiment myself. I used to work at a sign shop and may aluminum channel letters so i am familar with bending and shaping metal somwhat. i do enjoy it
How can I gain leverage from a tool that’s not so bent like that? I’m having issues with that, I have beginner set of tools
Make those tools work for you, bend the crap out of it. I do it all the time!
I have a lot of Waves on the right side of my finder dent I tried to tap them out but won't move them I can't affor But I still try to get my car done
Do you have a list of the basic tools a beginner should get? Just so I’m not wasting money on a bunch of Amazon junk trying to learn lol
ansonpdr.com/collections/jim-mitchell-beginner-set These don’t have to be bought all at once, but this is a great place to start. Many thanks to www.ansonpdr.com for helping curate and carry this beginner set!
Wrecked my 2021 Kia Rio S. Front end damage looks worse than it is...in my opinion. 😁 Insurance company still has not been able to get to the car at the tow year. I am not the registered owner, my wife is. She is out of the country and does not return until the end of this month. I did send pics though.
@3:20 that's what he said..
How can a content creator not make a technical video in anything less than 1080p?!?
Are you asking why I’m not shooting editing and posting in 4k? Or 1080?
Either way. It’s free KZhead content. You get what you get and don’t throw a fit (as my daughters preschool says) 720 shows what needs seen, and speeds up my work flow for free content. There’s plenty of 1080 content in the paid subscription.
👏👏👏👍👌
If you were to buy all of the knockdown tips from VIP, you would be spending around $10k 😱
Great content as always Hello Jim ,This is EAGLE from Buddygo. We are a car product service company, we mainly produce the car Cabin Air Filter for cars. My purpose of contacting you is to seek business cooperation, and I look forward to your reply. best wishes
i think fender repairs are overdone i want to see boxside big truck repairs we get them constantly in midwest and tools need to be thin and very strong with a big swoopp to go through boxside top holes under cap i love my shaved reaper rod but it will not turn in the square holes and i have a bunch waiting tuesday no ascess lower sections gravel rock outys ect.we all know a good rod is no good if you dont have the swoop to reach the dent to get power but still thin to go through factory holes its a bitch on side damange
Speeak to MUCH!!!! Ohh no!
Did you heat it up
Absolutely.
