    • @@9some I'd argue he's very connected to the audience. He knows what is and isn't socially acceptable to laugh and feeds off of the ridiculousness of their silence. It ends up building the pressure of the joke higher and higher, and once he eases off people are dying to laugh.

    • DrDeadlifts exactly because in the end no matter what our views are in life, all humans can connect no matter their differences and I believe comedy does that well. It allows everyone to understand eachother and that’s why I think Bill Burr is one of the best comedians ever not to mention he’s in my top 3 comedians.

He tried an experimental bit with the whole "slitting throats" thing, but they didn't get that either. When he jumped straight from that to the tired old "slice of my life" comedy starter bit, something about his mannerism, "So . . . I'm staying in a hotel" . . . I just lost it. Epic.

  • *Dude that "weird noise" joke is so good and also underrated. This joke becomes 10x more funnier when you imagine it. Men actually talk about being brave and ready to have a fight but in reality, no human being is designed to take on a fight and be dominant in that unexpected brutal fight. Bill burr is completely correct, if a guy with a chainsaw or a gun unexpectedly enters your room, your first reaction would be shock, then seeing the weapon gives more shock, and by the time brain starts processing it and the adrenaline starts pumping in for a fight or flight, the killer attacks and it's game over in a single blow. A well written and a well thought joke, bill is the G.O.A.T.*

Everyone is too busy trying to impress eachother they forgot how to laugh. This world is becoming very miserable and mundane. And for some reason it's considered cute. I mean hell, this is why i don't fuck with people. I stay to myself and get silly alone. Fuck people. I'll have a good time by myself. And all these intellectual norms always ask me why you always talk to yourself and suddenly laugh out of nowhere? Well i talk to myself because all you people are miserable shits. And did it ever occur to you that i just might be thinking of something funny? Got damn these fucking people! Feel better now. Just got out a little steam there. Rant complete...

    • Yeah, yeah yeah I know it too. How does that bit relate to this anti-PC rant though? Bill Burr is an all-time great, but he took a risk here and it didn't work. No biggie. And blaming the crowd like some of these other posters are is weak. On the Night of Too Many Stars you heard groans from that crowd, but Bill's jokes (and the set) for that were classic. This, not so much...

      @bOmBAsTiK@bOmBAsTiK6 жыл бұрын
    • MiSTaH bOmBAsTiK .... It doesn't have to relate to think George Carlin would like it. Carlin's earlier stuff certainly doesn't classify as "anti-establishment" and neither do his later shows if you watch a whole show. Enough to be a little contrarian to think Carlin would get a kick out of it.

      @jjryan1352@jjryan13526 жыл бұрын
    • Carlin didn't get his real voice until way into his career, if you cared to watch his earlier material. It takes time to get to a place where you no longer aim to please but just do what you want to do. Maybe Bill Burr got there and you don't like what he likes

Job growth is mostly in part time and contracting which it has been since Obama. Swing states are still suffering from lost of manufacturing jobs, racial divide is worse than ever, income inequality has increased non-stop, people are still dying due to inadequate healthcare, our prisons are over crowded, gun violence is non stop, Nazis actually think they have a place in this world, we have done nothing about climate change, and the trade wars have proven completely ineffective. I’m not saying he is the worst president ever, but he has accomplished nothing. He did give a massive tax cut to the rich. Although many presidents have accomplished that, Democrat and Republican.
