HOW TO CLEAN AND PROTECT LEATHER SEATS !! In this video, I show you how to clean and protect your car’s leather seats. These tips and tricks also apply to synthetic leathers and vinyl seats. We will vacuum the seats, remove surface dirt and body oils and grime with leather cleaners, wipe the seats clean and protect the leather seats with a ceramic coating. This will help protect the seats from liquid spills, dirt, dye transfer from jeans, UV rays, fading, cracking and friction damage. I will also explain how to perform regular maintenance on your car seats.

Hi Pan -- does this product damage microfiber towels, ie, should I throw them out?
No, just wash them immediately after use and you can reuse them.
Can you use the same leather cleaner for autos on home furniture like leather chairs or recliners as well??
Pan, is there anything that will minimize the creases on the sides of the leather seats? Both front seats on the side next to the doors have creases on them.

Pan...any tips/tricks you can share regarding how to clean between your seats and console??
I think a better way to go would be to use an Upholstery" brush. This is a vacuum attachment that has bristles on the end. Just like the ones used on regular house vacuums.
3:55 only a tip that comes from experience. Would’ve never thought to sand the edge of the vacuum cleaner nozzle but hearing him say it instantly makes sense

Hiya Pan, another great video. My next new car is coming with leather seats so it was great you talked about the ceramic coating. I am looking at the C Quartz but didn't know they did a dedicated leather coating, do now!!! Also thanks for the info about maintenance washes for the seats/dash etc. 3:1 ratio for cleaning solution...will make a more of that 👩🔬👩🔬. New ways of cleaning but very few tips on maintenance well done sir. Looking forward to your next instalment!!!!

Just did this process last weekend with the P&S Interior Cleaner and Colourlock. Bought both on your recommendation over the last year! Now you’ve got me wondering if I should go the ceramic coating route...
Both are excellent. Coatings are great if you want 10-12 months of protection, but the Colourlock works wonders too you just need to reapply every three months. I love both methods.
Hey Pan. Very informative video. Thank you for all the help. Last year I bought a brand new car, and I paid a detailer to apply ceramic coating on the leather. Unfortunately he applied too much coating and didn’t remove the excess. Some spots on the seats are more shiny than it was supposed, looking like it is dirty. Thanks a lot. My Sline sport leather driver seat was not matte it was very dirty my others seats were matte and not that dirty. This video helped me a lot. I spend 6 hours for front seats and now they look and feel like brand new!!! Soon i will finish my steering wheel and back seats

En général, la même méthode que pour les cuirs réels s'applique. Car la surface a un revêtement similaire au vernis de la carrosserie dans les deux cas.
Merci J'ai seulement découvert tes videos il y a quelques mois (recommandation dun ami) suite à l'achat d'un nouveau véhicule que je désire bien entretenir. J'étais plus un gars de 1/4 mile & performance il y a quelques années, mais l'esthétique m'a toujours intéressé. Je trouve tes vidéos excellents et tu es très professionnel. I must've specified that it is exactly what I was looking for my 2018 RS3 to give back the feel & texture for my driving seat after 3 years and the "Colourlock" brand seems to be the right set as I trust your judgement. I ordered it today and I'll give you my feedback shortly after I used it. PS: I must specify that due to the pandemic, the product is not available for delivery in Luxembourg in Amazon at the moment but "Colourlock" site in Germany is for within a week. Merci !
nice one! one tip we use is to take a bit of kamikaze masking tape around the edges of the crevice tool which protects leather & plastic from any potential marring :)
I take the soft part of velcro (not the abrasive size) and wrap the vacuum attachment; also use a brush attachment as it helps get into the nooks and crannies. 😉

Hi PAN, so modern day leather” is already coated when it leaves the factory? What about older cars.... classic cars that are 30 plus years old? Wouldn’t you use a different set of products and procedures? I use saddle soap on my leather seats and then Connelly Leather conditioner or Lexol? Would love to know your thoughts because I know you do your research. Thanks.

Hi Pan. Thanks for everything you do for the community. Quick Q: What product(s) would you recommend someone use on a top grain leather sofa? I know it isn't a car interior.. but I figured the shape of furniture shouldn't matter so much...? I read Leather 2.0 is only good on finished leather.. and I don't think top grain would qualify.. (purchased the Positano leather sofa from costco in grey) THANKS!

Thanks! They not only look great and feel great with that high quality nappa leather, but they are soooooo comfortable! I had to get that option when I bought my BMW. I guess that's why they call them the "comfort seats". :)
For maintenance cleanings (2 months) the leather protected with gyeon leather shield I like to clean it with leather cleaner and then top it off with gyeon leather coat. Works really well
I love watching your videos! So helpful🙏🏽 I do have a question...after we use the ceramic coating on the leather seats do we need to use a leather serum or anything of that matter? Or the seats are good to go for one year and just wipe with damp cloth every few months...thank you!

I treated my leather with the gyeon leather coating and have done the maintenance with the gyeon leather cleaner diluted as instructed in the video. Is there a product to use to get the seats back to the firmness like they were when new?(they are about 2 years old)after the maintenance with the gyeon leather cleaner it does seem to firm them back somewhat but just wondered if any product can get them more firm.
