Today we go deep into my OBD1 M50 Intake swap on a M52TU engine. It was the first time I did this exact modification from start to finish. If there's anything I may have missed or should explain further please let me know!!!!

  • there is certainly a bigger cleanup, that make things better from this point, with this intake. But on the m52/54 intake ,those small diameter tubes, are for low to mid range rpm, and they are narrower, because for that given volume of air ,at that rpm, the speed of the air to be higher. Then the Disa valve, change the route of the air incoming towards the valves, by those big fat shorter pipes, from underneath the manifold, and the engine gets a lot of ai for high rpm. So for street use is a very good itake manifold.

Works fine, ran the cable up thru where the brake booster is then to the TB. There is ICV ports that you need to plug. You get a tap tool and makes some threads in there then put some screws in it to plug. Make sure you got a towel or rags / vacuum ontop of ur valves to not get anything in there. You can hear the manifold alot it do be sucky sucking . Makes more power and didnt really feel any torque loss tbh. Top ends super fun. With tune rn makes about 260

Try to squish it down close to the valves. Then do the cloth/towel or whatever etc. That way any shavings that may make it past "should" stick to the tape". Anyway, love your work dude. :)

Planning way ahead and I'm concerned about why you had to flip your injector wire harness connectors. Will I also have to flip mine? I have same throttle body, any suggestions? • Bayside Fabrication I’ll go Check out the video! The main things that I would like to get rid of is the SAP, the disa valve, the CCV, and all the other extra junk besides my A/C I live in Arizona so no chance I can’t have that but I’ve been looking into a new intake manifold and really there is only really two ways to go ether you use a m50 intake or a custom made after market one that typically ditch the old throttle body for a cable one I was wondering what one seemed like the better option. Clearly both will make a better gain in power due to better air flow but I was wondering what one will be better in reliability, serviceability, and cost effective.
