  • The fact that his back up dancers have been seen to struggle behind him for so many performances says a lot Taemin is the king

  • Taemin is Taemin. He is in a league of his own, graceful in all dance styles, Modern to Street Dance. His body control is insane, them hips don't lie. He has the best back up dancers in Kpop... his crew moves with force, no matter the genre. Taemin offers a elegance and embodies MJ's aura like no other artist.

  • Taemin and his dancers are top notch! I think you'd like "Move" by Taemin. Subtle, groovy, and much more difficult than it appears. Many people have covered the dance but few approach Taemin's same control and artistry.

    • Also, his song and live performance of ARTISTIC GROOVE which in my opinion is one of his underrated songs.

  • Taemin has no professional dance background like most idol dancers who went to dance school since they were little and some specialized in some dance style/genre. taemin learned to dance by himself watching videos of michael jackson and rain (his favorite artists). When he was 11 years old, he auditioned for SM and was chosen,after 3 years as a trainee. He debuted at the age of 14 as a main dancer. Of course, on his way to becoming the artist he is now, he kept learning and practicing. Also, he is not only an amazing dancer, but also an incredible vocalist, one of the few dancers who can be a main vocalist too (another one that comes to mind is ten).

  • TAEMIN our Legendary Artist, Dancing King, Idol of Idols and Ace of Kpop (just to name some titles given to him by the industry) inspired by The KING of POP MICHAEL JACKSON! I love every part of the choreography especially @ 5:08 where you say “that changed the mood” with TAEMIN is doing the hand gesture! I can’t help but STOP to look and be again mesmerised by TAEMIN because the hand gesture is meaningful ~> refers to the story to ADVICE! The choreographer is KASPER! KASPER has also choreographed TAEMIN’s CRIMINAL and IDEA!

  • I’ve got 800 things to say, Taemin is my biggest…he’s the only human I’d ever consent to marry. Number 1 is that Advice is the third part of a trilogy, the title track of the 3rd Never Gonna Dance Again Album. It is his newest single, the last before he went into the military (he gets out in April). The first two parts were Criminal and Idea. You’ve seen the Criminal MV but never watched a practice. All three dances fit together in that where he ends on one picks up on the next. So if I were you I’d definitely check out Criminal and Idea practices, and then the MVs. Taemin is DEFINITELY a storyteller. He is known by epithets such as “the Idol of Idols” and “Korea’s Michael Jackson”. He takes big influence from MJ, which you can particularly see in his early solo work before he developed more on his own. He started in the business as the youngest member (also known as maknae) of the group Shinee, who are known as the Princes of Kpop, when he was 14. When Taemin started doing solo work, his stuff really blew up because he is not only very skilled in singing and dancing, but his ability to tell a story onstage with his performance is pretty unmatched (I’ll tell you about the pretty unmatched part in a sec). He has a willingness to play with his androgynous looks and also do dance moves that one wouldn’t typically find “masculine”, especially a decade ago. This made his song/video MOVE iconic in Korea. Everyone knows the dance, the song, they do covers. Even artists older than him who have been in the business a long time respect and admire him, hence the “idol of idols”. Now for the “pretty unmatched” part. Taemin is known to be one of the best soloists/dancers in kpop. The other two that you hear about are Ten (you watched his Birthday video, also from WayV, an NCT subunit) and Kai (from EXO and a soloist you’ve seen). Taemin and Kai are best friends actually. All three of these dancers are members of SuperM, which is SM Entertainment’s supergroup of their best/most popular guys that they took and shoved together. Baekhyun and Kai from EXO, Ten and Lucas from WayV, Mark and Taeyong from NCT 127, and Taemin. This group is SM’s BEST dancers and most captivating performers. If you want to watch SuperM, I recommend Tiger Inside, 100, and One (Monster and Infinity) (which is my favorite).

  • Taemin's "Idea" dance practice is one of my favs!!!

    @ireneserrano4570@ireneserrano4570 Жыл бұрын
  • Taemins dance practice is on a whole other level, as everything else he does (that said not because he is my bias)- He needs to have the best back up dancers in the industry to keep up with him. Surely you will be suggested to look at dance practice of "Idea", "Move" and "Want" and "Criminal". But if a dance practice possible could be any sharper, you MUST watch "Famous" with his japanese crew: they are insanely sharp. I will give you the link below. But about the choreographer to Advice: it is the korean Kasper, and he is amazingly good and creative. He and Taemin together created the choreo for "Criminal". He is often used to create choregraphy for SM artists, and he also did the choreo for SHINee's comeback 2021 "Dont call me". Also he has been a back up dancer for Taemin. More fun fact about Kasper; he was told he could never be a dancer !! Look what hard work can do!! But even so, Taemin will also put his own flavour on the choreo,, and has created some amazing choreo himself as well. His popping and locking style is unique, and there is a lot of it in Advice-more than Kasper did in his draft. I can't think of anyone who can excecute it in same tremendous way as Taemin does. He doesnt miss a single beat!! This is the link to dance practice Famous: kzhead.info/sun/oNOqgZaNgqCVZ3k/bejne.html Kepp up the good work! Love and greetings from Norway!

  • I think my fav thing (not really one part) is that Taemin never looks like he is rushing or behind. No matter the speed or texture of the choreo he is just there, exactly where he wants to be ... does that make sense? This is also a bit random, a couple years ago he taught some of his choreo from Criminal and Idea to his younger bros from NCT... I love how he explains the thought process of his movement Not long now, in April he'll be back from enlistment!!

Also my favorite part of the choreo is the last sequence when he is kinda controlling the other dancers. The synchronization from everyone there is nice and dramatic.

  • You talk sometimes about practices being "for the music video" but it's important to remember that in Kpop, the choreography and music are sort of equally important parts of the song release (the performance aspect being an inherent part of Kpop), so what you see in the practice is exactly what you would see at a concert or a music show on TV. The music videos usually include clips of the choreography being performed, but whether the dance practice video was recorded immediately prior to filming the music video or prior to going on tour, it wouldn't really look different because the choreography is just sort of attached to the song and it's unlikely to be altered for a music video. I don't know how to explain it but the sound of the music and the visual of the choreography are both parts of the recognizable artistic property for fans, and changing the choreography from the music video to the live performance would be just as odd as changing the song. The choreography doesn't just accompany the song in Kpop, it's essentially part of it.

    @vitalyaloves@vitalyaloves Жыл бұрын
    • Just wanted to give context because I think some things, like groups covering the choreography of other groups songs (while not even necessarily covering the song), is something that can only happen because of this aspect of Kpop, and took a while for me to figure out the significance of this as I got more interested in Kpop. I think once I figured this out it contextualized a lot for me, so I just wanted to share. Also, from my understanding the choreography is usually perfected after the music video, before live shows. I've heard a couple Kpop artists say they just learned the choreography the day or so before the music video in order to be able to perform those parts, and then worked on details and synchronicity before the live performances, when it would matter more (because you can't reshoot or edit live shows).

  • This is one of the big reasons TAEMIN is one of top #1 dancer and Korean MJ of KPOP even though he is own unique artist. Its said, if you cannot keep up with TAEMIN then you need more training which is why you will NEVER see BAD DANCERS behind TAEMIN; ARTIST OF ARTISTS.

    @ellie_jeann@ellie_jeann Жыл бұрын
  • Thanks for the reaction! My favorite parts are the push-pull choreo at the end, and the choreo beginning at 5:50 in this video. Especially 6:02-6:05. I love that shape they do for some reason. You can’t go wrong with any of Taemin’s dance practices, honestly. They are all impressive - so sharp and smooth and precise and intricate. I love his dancing so much! Please check out the dance practice for Idea next. You can also try the practices for Famous and Criminal too, or Move which is absolutely iconic in a completely different style. Want is also great! Drip Drop dance practice is hard to find and poor quality because it wasn’t meant to be released publicly, but I LOVE how sharp he is in that dance practice. And if you can find the duo dance practice he did for Sayonara Hitori (where he practiced with the choreographer) you should definitely react to that!
