  • I love how Kofuzi, Fordy, Herm, Ben Parkes, Matt Choi, Ben Johnson, BITR, etc. All support each other instead of competing against each other. It makes for a much stronger and interesting community.

  • You’re absolutely not too old to be setting PBs! I believe your best days are still ahead! I’m sure the Boston-London travel, all-night video editing, and all the events with time on feet had a cumulative effect. Way to tough it out when you knew early on it wasn’t going to go well 🙌🏼

    • Definitely 👍 I also think a lot of people have struggled in Spring Marathons so far this year. I know that I certainly did. Kofuzi is still a young man. Always dents your confidence for a while when you run a bad one though, which can often help out in your next big race when expectations are lowered but you want it more. Great video this ❤ which made London look really exciting from the perspective of a runner from the other side of the pond 🙂

  • Way to grit it out to the finish and get that medal! Great commentary on how sometimes the marathon (and the sport in running in general) is a fickle beast. You didn't get paid this weekend...but the hard and dedicated work you did for the past few months will pay off down the road in the future! I honestly think you can still PR by quite a bit at all distances (from the Mile, 5k, 10k, half and Marathon). We've got to look at your work/sleep and diet balance a bit more perhaps (as well as maybe some blood work/nutrition stuff). You've also had to put in a ton of content/video work/editing and social events over the past few weeks leading into this and that can certainly be draining/exhausting. Not to mention all the international travel. Hope you are staying healthy and recovering well and safe travels back!

    • The "work/sleep" balance is what I took from this film. I'm sure Ko will make the decision to cut back significantly on media and event commitments when he goes to Berlin in September.

      @rych7852@rych785214 күн бұрын
    • Coach Sage nailed all the factors that played into Ko's "not so mysterious" underperformance in London. I'd say, though, that Ko really seems to enjoy spending time with his friends and fans, so as long as his expectations for the race are in line with reality, it is OK not to focus on times PBs/PRs. When Ko was focused on sub 3, he dialed back the circus and met that goal.

  • Ah man this is so awesome. As a Brit, when you said you needed to carb load...then cut to you eating a Cornish Pasty, I was cracking up. Awesome video and makes me miss London! On performance, you were amazing ... but that busy schedule / time on feet prior to the race, on top of the travel and jet lag effects surely had an effect. It's so tough on these overseas races, but especially so when you're Kofuzi!! Keep going man and you're NEVER too old for a PB...just today I took my Half Marathon PB from 1:27:10 to 1:23:27, at the ripe old age of 47 💪

  • As to if you're too old for PBs, I say nah. My philosophy is that progress is not always linear. And it's been the case for me. I think you have a lot of potential that hasn't been fully realized. But with that said, I've lately been focusing on having fun and not taking things too seriously. That usually makes even more progress than obsessing on training and strategy etc. Well done Kofuzi! Thanks for the video.

  • Another beautiful video! While watching your Boston video I realized how demanding it must be to go to all these events and document everything along the way. Add to that a long flight + jetlag and I guess you have part of the explanation of why you felt exhausted. You gave everything you had on that day and adapted very well to the situation. Well done champ 💪🏻

I just experienced the same at the Rome marathon a few weeks prior. The first marathon (out of only four) I was really unhappy with. I was really questioning myself whether I should continue but thanks to insights like yours I try to look at it as a process, to learn from my mistakes. So I‘ll try to take my lessons for Berlin. Hope to take a glimpse of you there! Greetings from Germany!

You had a very busy itinerary, only you can know if that contributed to your race day. International travel will always take it out of you. But it was nice to see you and participate in the Soar Shake out run. It was also VERY VERY cold for this time of year. Normally a bit warmer. You know what us Brits are like and our obsession with the weather! 😂😂 Don't beat yourself up over not running a PB on this day in history. You finished when the going was tough. Thats a win! And you'll get PBs again in the future! (Edit to add) Ben Parkes always looks perplexed by the attention he receives. Never met the guy, but he seems a decent chap.

  • That's the weird thing in sports and athletes that happens. Everything seems to indicate that we will perform our best and, for whatever reason, things just go differently. Way to push through! Now you have finished London. Your videos are honest, inspiring, and so perfectly well done. You have inspired this runner for sure!!

  • Great to see London get the Kofuzi RW treatment. The weather this spring has been unusually cold in the UK, maybe it's the El Nino effect but you normally get a bit of balmyness in patches by late April. Still usually rains though, lol.

  • You definitely have a PB or too left in you. You were a busy lad then few days before the race and traveling doesn’t help with carb loading. Glad you loved the crowds thou 👊

  • Top content as per! Tough day at the office but that’s the marathon so many things need to align for it to go perfectly! Rest reset and head back in the game for Berlin! Age is just a number - 2:55 is well achievable

  • I too hate handling travel logistics and all that stuff just gives me anxiety. I like the idea of a specialised race tour organiser, will definitely try that when I start my majors' journey

  • You will face many defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated. -Maya Angelou. Some times you need a reminder what you’re made off. This race was that for you buddy. Thanks for keep inspiring me and many more. My fear of blowing up in Copenhagen next week is gone after watching you do This in Lndn. Toughness is earned not given
