"What was the plan?" One of the funniest lines ever said by a commentator.
I wait for that line every time I watch the clip lol
Time stamp
It was never meant to be snapped unless they caught NE with too many players on the field. Otherwise, just take the delay of game. But there was a last second replacement of the snapper who did not get the whole plan. Whoops
I used that line at work. A stupid coworker made a horrible decision to let one of his employees try something, when it backfired i asked him: “what was the plan Dave?”
cris collinsworth doesnt do a lot good, but he is great at the unusual. this play and dan connolly's return will be remembered forever in part due to collinsworth knocking them out of the park

The Pats live in their head.

You should just have the Browns scoring touchdowns as unusual plays. God I love being a Browns fan.
Lol
Yeah but you have to have the Browns score some TDs to beable to show them on a video. When was the last time the Browns scored a TD? 2014?
has that ever happened?
@Eahab Ibrahim has what ever happened? Have the Browns ever scored a TD? I think they did, a long time ago. hee hee hee.
The Browns score touchdowns all the time! They're just usually in the 4th quarter, when the Browns are already down by like 27 points... But trust me, they do score touchdowns... Just not enough of them...
0:23 The synchronization of the two refs signaling safety is beyond satisfying. I literally slowed it down to .25 speed and couldn't make out any noticeable deviation between them. This is some Patty Duke shit.
If you guys asking if the browns field goal was good against the Ravens, it was good. It technically went through the uprights but just had hit the bar. The ref and everybody else says it is good
The Phil Dawson field goal against the Ravens WAS ruled to be a good field goal Please like this so that people don’t post asking why it was ruled no good
AND the Browns went on to win that game in overtime... They ended that season 10-6...
UGF Pandas
I thought it had to be ruled successful.
So did they check then play in review?
thanks for the info, i was thinking that ought to have been good and wondered if they may have overturned it.
4:20 "He's just out there kicking touchdowns."
6:27 watching that play live was one of the best moments of my life
Nate Ohan you must have laughed hard asf lmao
Nate Ohan I so wish I saw it!🤣
Lol same
Yeah, but the whole thing made no sense at all. Obviously the guy was NOT suppose to hike the ball. That they were trying to draw the Pats offside for a 5 yd penalty and get the 1st down (then 4th and 3). But that didn't matter cuz the Colts were going to get flagged for illegal formation. So the penalties would have offset, and the 4th and 3 would have just been replayed. But in the actual case, the Pats took over on downs, right there. Dumbasses!!!
I like the Ref's explanation of the penalty .. "the whole right side was not on the line scrimmage". Yeah, well, NEITHER was the "whole LEFT side" ... DUH!!!
The colts “fake punt” against the pats was actually a brilliantly designed play but it was just one communication error lol
3:45 Yesssss! I didn’t think footage of this still existed.
great video of these plays!
As a die hard colts fan, I still sit speechless with massive blood pressure increase at that inexplicable nonsense on 4th and 3 against the patriots. If I live to be a hundred and ten years old, that singular play will trigger me over and over again.
Pretty sure they didn't want to snap it, just try to get them to jump offsides. If you think about it like that, it at least makes some sense.
😂😂😂😂
to calm myself I just remember when Bill was to dam cocky on 4th n 2 lol
I feel like the Brown's field goal in second to last video should've counted as good. it technically went through the up rights. almost like as a goal in hockey would be a good goal if it went in then out of the net really quick. tough call for the browns.
TwistedMetal32 if you hear or watch the extended version they say that it was in
They overturned it after review.
Browns won that game in OT
well thats cool that the fg counted as good and the browns won compared to the context of this vid haha. but seriously, you think the vertical and horizontal posts of the goal post would be different colors now after a play that close like such.
It was changed to a made field goal. The Browns ended up winning that game.
Chuck Pagano: "Hey boys run that where the QB only has one blocker. " QB gets sacked immediately. Chuck Pagano: Shocked Pikachu face.
That colts play always gives me a headache. Like what were you trying to do.
they were trying to force the pats to have to many people on the field but it didnt work
Also, the Center fucked up, it was to force the Pats to have too many people on the field and if it didn't work, just let the play clock run and take the penalty. But the Center continued the player as if nothing was wrong.
Yeah, the starting center was out, and his backup was not privy to the play at all.

The amazing thing about the Giants kickoff that they recovered in the endzone at the start of the game..... No time was taken off the clock.... Because the ball was never touched in the field of play...
I love how teams seem to just LOVE helping out the patriots as much as possible. like, "yea, you guys are arguably the best team ever, but here, just take the ball. we ain't stressin. we ain't gonna do shit with it anway."
Mockturtlesoup1 oh you're the best team ever let's just get rid of our offensive line
seems a little awkward now doesn't it...
Mockturtlesoup1 I mean they didn't win the SB this year did they?
NyteFury YT I don't understand what you're trying to say.
Mockturtlesoup1 You're saying that the Pats are the best team ever but they lost to the Eagles (Ubderdogs)
4:31 that ref was sp happy about that touchdown 😂
Saints and rams always have the wackiest plays. Looking forward to seeing them play this week. Who else remembers the Barnhart punt
5:49 when you forgot to change the difficulty on Madden and you realize the computer is set to rookie
I have noticed in college games that when they kick off now and the ball lands in the end zone the kicking team does not try to cover it for a touchdown. Has there been a rule change? A kickoff used to be a live ball after it travels ten yards. Now it seems that if it hits the ground , it is a touchback.
YYYEESSSS another great video!
good collection of bizarre plays.
That Touchdown from Bills vs Jets was hilarious.
" Illegal formation on the whole right side of the line" LMFAO
That was one of the funniest freaking penalty calls I've ever heard.
@@ZLRob What about offsides on everyone but the center?
You should just have the Browns scoring touchdowns as unusual plays. God I love being a Browns fan.

My day has been made by this video.
Cool comp!
4:33 is what most Bills fans think many times during the season
7:15 Amazing. The Lions actually benefit from someone ELSE'S mistake!
Thanks for the laughs
Nice video !
8:36 sums up the browns franchise...
That actually was changed to a made FG as the ball crossed over the plane of the uprights and hit the supporting stanchion.
That field goal was good and should have counted.
Chad Snow It did count, they reviewed it and changed it.
Adam's right... After reviewing the kick, the field goal counted and the Browns won that game in OT... It was priceless... They were interviewing Flacco on the sideline and somebody came up and yelled "C'mon! It ain't over!" That was the season the Browns went 10-6 and missed the playoffs because of a tie-breaker with the Titans...
after they said it was good
For everyone wondering, he tackled his own teammate to try to keep him in the endzone because if he went out they would've been in like the 1 yard line.
Nevertheless, the man with the ball RETREATED into the endzone, which means it is a safety if he is tackled there.
As Bart noted, at 3:52 he was already out to the 1 yard line. Too late to push him back into the end zone.
You should make a compilation of players who possess the ball going to the ground without getting touched.
It drives me crazy when pro players do that considering in high school I was always taught you try and kill the ball carrier up until you hear the whistle
7:02 it was the 4th down, the plan was trying to force an offside from the deffense and getting the 1st down.
They shouldn’t have snapped it

That Browns field goal was good.
Yes, after reviewing the play, it was called a field goal and the Browns went on to win that game in OT...
Can I️ ask what video editor you use I’ve been struggling to find one that will actually render my videos
House of Highlights word. I've been wondering that too
House of Highlights you really don’t need a fancy editor to make videos like this, I use Sony Vegas 12 (or 11, I’m not sure) which came out in 2012
Savage Brick Sports ok thanks because I’ve been using panzoid and it’s not too difficult since I used the strategy you showed in a video you made way back then deleted it. Panzoid takes like 2 hours to render and eventually fails so I can’t download anything
I will never forget watching that Sunday night game with the Pats n Colts
3:52...why the hell did he tackle his own team mate, am I missing something here????
Pianoman3131313 he tackled him because if he went out of the end zone they would have the ball on the 1 yard line but if he stayed in and they tackled him they would have it on the 20 but it failed and he fumbled
Because he was stupid, I guess. The tackling teammate (Jack Golden) should have left his teammate (Fred Lewis) alone. Instead, Lewis ended up fumbling it. You can't go back into the end-zone once you've possessed the ball in the green field of play. Otherwise, it's a safety. If the ball ends up in the end-zone with the defense in possession, then it's a touch-back and they get possession on the 20 yard line.
chrisgast well he just tackled his teammate too well.
To keep his teammate in the end zone so they could start at the 20 yard line
He couldn't keep his teammate in the end zone when he wasn't already in there in the first place. His teammate (the one with the ball) had possession of the ball in the green field of play and then went into the end zone. At that point, it would be a safety had his opponent tackled him then. You can't go into your own end zone with the ball. Otherwise, it's a safety. The ball has to land into the end zone for it to be a touch-back (except for kickoffs - that's a live ball/play).
The Colt play.....question.. . Who was smoking crack when they designed that play lol?????
The synchronicity of Al Michaels saying, "You tell me," and the clueless look on Chuck Pagano's face is perfect.
Pat explained the whole play, it was never supposed to be snapped, just meant to confuse the pats and possibly get them to have too many people on the field
I still laugh hysterically at the ref. "Whole right side of the line". Play was so dumb.

@Berzerker204 Oh yeah bro, since that ref had already thrown his first flag... oh wait. IDK how someone can be so blatantly wrong and still try and correct somebody like that lmao
1:19 the infamous conference play
5:48 One of the greatest plays of all time! : )
On the replay on the first one there’s a hat on the field
Glad I'm not the only one that noticed
Saw it too
RM Vlogs that’s the ref’s hat. They throw it as a marker to mark where he caught or first touched the ball
RM Vlogs the hat usually means a player stepped out of bounds and came back in and #18 Slater stepped out of bounds at the beginning, but since he wasn’t the one who tackled Benjamin the Penalty didn’t take affect
The hat was there when kickoff began...I’ve rewatched it like 5 times in a row lol the camera moves quickly but you can tell. Idk why it was there, but it shouldn’t have been The reasoning of the hat being there was a placeholder doesn’t work because the hat was on the ground way before the fumble & before a player was anywhere close to it
5:56 I'm so confused, did the person who called this play have a stroke or something?
The person? Really?
Could you do a perfect bounce compilation? Like sunday hops?

Bryande Master06 no it was not
I'm surprised they did not show the Leon Lett play where he touched the ball after a missed field goal and the other team recovered it.
The majority of these plays involve things we teach the boys in the backyard before their first CYO game. However, if I may be forgiven a brief trip on to a soapbox, it stuns me that professionals set around a room, designed that farce that the Colts tried to pull off, and then they all agreed to it. I told my dad I wanted to coach football when I was a big boy. Hell maybe I could. And yes, I know it always looks different on replay. But still
4:09 I cringed so hard when he tackled his own player, it about sums up the giants though.
3:05 "New orlyans saints"

did that kick get overturned? That went through the goals and therefore should be 3 points, right?
Yes it did
Nope. Came back through the uprights so no score.
+Mark Vahlkamp : Actually, it was reviewed and overturned as good. In this video, that part was left out (for time probably).
Not only was the kick reviewed and called a field goal, but the Browns won that game in overtime...

Alexander Wood not even the colts.
Swinging gate qb sneak that just failed
Colts had a miscommunication. It wasn't meant to be a trick play, if you want to know.
Is that a hat on the field at 0:29 ?
Yes. Refs throw their hats on the field where the ball is caught in case a penalty occurs at the spot of the ball.
@@jdonovan74 No, that's what the bean bag is for. The hat signifies that somebody stepped out of bounds.

I love watching Travis Benjamin struggle makes me 😊
At 5:48 I remember watching that and I think this is what happened: The Colts thought the Pats would have to burn a timeout with the formation shift but when the Pats just lined then the Colts didn't want to burn their final timeout so they ran it. Only problem is they probably never actually ran a play for that in practice (because the whole point was to make the other team use a timeout) so no one knew what was going on.
The Passionly Passionate Nightman uhh basically from what I remember, what chuck pagano said is that they practiced it and ran it in hopes of catching the patriots off guard and getting them to line up incorrectly and cause confusion, whether it be to get the patriots to waste a timeout, jump, or actually run a planned play if they lined up horribly wrong, and if nothing happened they would let the clock run out and take the five yards delay of game penalty and punt it away, but griff Whalen (or whoever the guy who snapped it, or maybe the guy who took the snap? Whatever) wasn’t with them the day that they went over taking the penalty and not snapping it, so he was confused and ran a play
really? the guy taking the snap wasn't there the day they practiced that play and they ran it anyway? I hope that's just a rumor otherwise that is one of the worst coaching miscues I've ever heard of.
I don't think he was actually supposed to snap it.
Uh....both teams had 3 timeouts. What are you talking about?
As a jets fan, I wish the bills made that mistake against the jets in week 17 of 2015 so that the jets could’ve made the playoffs

8:30 should have counted. It went in, I didn't know it had to stay in
I agree it's like if a basketball went in then hit someone in the head then out it wouldnt count just a weird rule.

As a Bears fan, that Jared Boykin play gives me nightmares.
Marino's fake spike against the Jets was one the best plays ever.
that kick from the Browns should’ve counted???
Jalen Jones yes it still counted as a fg because it went in but just hit the bar that holds the post
But the announcers said it was "no good".??? It should've been good.
aspenrebel yes it was. Are you not reading the comments up above
@Noah Lingao I hadn't been, but now I understand what happened.
Jalen Jones It was overturned
3:53 He tackled his own team mate!!!
Yes, this does happen as referenced by the commentators. It was meant to be a supportive move ensuring a touchback - giving them the ball at the 20 yard line, instead of the other team right at the 1, but the well-intentioned tackle was too jarring and created a fumble for a touchdown by the opposing team, as you saw. The tackling player was trying to keep his teammate/ball in the end zone for the advantage...and it unfortunately backfired. :P
Leanne Mo would've been a safety because he left the end zone
Luke Prescott he was trying to get a touchback
the field goal was good!

Was that a Steve Young Tampa Bay highlight at the end?
I don't get how the Bills v Jets one was a touchdown
It was essentially a onside kick that went 50+ yards down the field. It's not a punt. It's a kickoff.
Camden Barber you have to possess the kickoff (unless it goes out of bounds or out of the back of the end zone)
Camden Barber kickoffs are love balls so the first team to touch it gets it and the first team is usually the receiving team bec. it’s kicked to them, but the bills didn’t take the live ball and the jets got it first so it was jets ball and since it was in the end zone, it was a TD
I think maybe the Bills felt the same way, like why doesn't #35 fall on the ball?
Kickoffs are love balls??? LOL
