In this video I talk through my moves against chess players rated under 800 to explain what they are doing wrong. Hope this is helpful to you and lmk if I should do the same thing with other rating groups :D

Video recap basically goes: "So, when you are playing agains a 500 rated player player it's very important to... wait, I checkmated him. Let's try again. As I was saying, when you... wait, I checkmated him again"
xDDD too good
😂
why you don't take advice from 1200+ elo
@Czeslaw P. what do you mean halfway decent? Yes shes very beautiful but shes a very strong top player. Why dismiss one thing because she has another.
@Czeslaw P. The next time you wonder "man why wont women sleep with me?" i want you to know its likely not because your ugly, its probably because of your whole personality.
I like how she reinforced the chess lesson by finding two different players to make the same exact moves back to back.

If you are under 800, you can surpass it by playing safe, fundamental moves. 1. Develop all your pieces before trying to attack (unless there's a tactic that will immediately win material). 2. Keep your pieces protected. Unsafe pieces become targets. Every move should aim to make progress whilst keeping your pieces safe. 3. Always check for threats, particularly with the opponent's queen. Your eyes should be trained for B+Q and N+Q checkmates. 4. Don't trade active pieces for inactive pieces, and do trade inactive pieces for active pieces. 5. Keep training tactics through puzzles. Puzzles are the way chess players maintain and improve their vision.
idk what type of 800s you guys are playing im losing games against 800s where my accuracy was 80-85
@@TimelapseWTO Are you analysing your games? It sounds like you might be making singular blunders that end your game, or maybe you aren't playing enough to increase your rating quickly
I just broke into 800+ elo after being stuck at 700 for a long time. Love starting with the Fried Liver Attack as white lol but you CANNOT overcommit to it or else you will be severely punished
@@LuKiSCraftjust make a new account and press advanced and then you will be automatically be matched with like 1500 opponents, if you can beat them you will be high elo. Even if your not at there level you could probably learn something

Yes please do more videos with different ratings groups. I found this SO instructive!
More videos like this! Very helpful to see you playing the game and commenting on your thought process and what the other person is doing.
Thanks for the great video! You make this look so effortless, in part because you're so incredibly quick to assess the board, whereas as a
Such a informative and helpful video, you should do a lot more of these videos. Maybe even a survey of what your viewers ratings are mostly . Then do more videos at the more common ratings.
I love all of these beginner videos! Really helpful lessons in each one
So much fun to hear you explain your reasoning in real-time! Thank you!
Thank you so much Anna, this is perfect for me, you're a brilliant teacher!
You are a really great instructor - good directions and swift explanations as you roll in and push forward, keeping it simple 👍🏼
Great video, really useful. I love the idea of the other player racking their brain trying to figure out the best move while Anna is just sat there making a KZhead video making it look effortless 😅
this video was actually so helpful thanks for the help!
You've done amazing videos lately. Thank you so much!
I learned quite a bit from this. What I run into the most is instead of holding tension on the board the opponents are always trigger happy about trading pieces and it leaves us both with very few pieces to work with. That being said, seeing how you pin pieces giving yourself time to develop faster than the opponent was a huge help.
Trade if your piece is inactive, avoid trading if your piece is active. Golden rule: "If there is an opponent's piece on your side of the board, eliminate it".
That was super helpful Anna, really! Please continue to share videos where you tell us what you think for each move 🙏👍
Thank you so much for this, your content is always great but these educational ones are my favorite.

I really like your teaching method! Clean and concise, without snobbery, it is refreshing.
you are so well spoken and such a good teacher. Just love the way you can vocalize your thoughts as you consider each move.

@@Noahplays456now she is very well spoken though
While listening to you talk, i was imagining all the deep conversations you must have had with your mum when you were little. Your fundamental understanding really helps you make decisions on the fly. Awesome video. Thanks a lot.
Your videos are very helpful. Thank you for making them!
This video was extremely insightful. Nobody teaches the way you just showed moves. I just started playing chess with a super low rating around 400 and would definitely wanted to progress. Please keep this kind of tutorials coming👍🏼🙏🏽
thank you anna! i found this extremely helpful and will try to apply what i learned in this video to my games 👍
Gracias por las claves! Me sirven mucho tus videos para mejorar mi juego 😊
Yes please! To your question at the end of if we would like more like these, yes please. It's really great to watch you talk through these games. I'd kind of like to see you intentionally do some questionable or random type moves to force more "normal" games at lower levels.
This style of live feedback vids are some of the most helpful for me, very relatable. Looking forward to the next ones of 900+ where you might have a bit more chance to teach =)
Thats a great idea!
Your name is among the best and I agree with your comment
Shinzou wo Sasageyo!

Great video. I like your rules. I’ve used the “own the center” strategy and it worked great. This video is golden for beginners.
This was such a great help Anna! Thank u so much! I hope u make more like this 🙏
I'm really happy you're focusing on making helpful videos. :) Thank you so much for making me a stronger player!

Nice video! It would be nice to see a series w a progression towards 1500. Fwiw, I see that bishop and rook checkmate once every couple weeks even in 1200+ games.
Lol, that checkmate. I just had a 1000 player walk into that the other day. As a sub-1000 player myself, the best lesson I’ve had so far was one from Robert Ramirez on board vision. It’s a simple exercise but it has helped me so much. All of Anna’s tips in this video are also fantastic, not that a great player like her needs any validation from a scrub like me.
What's Ramiez' advice on board vision?
@@tokyosmitsubishi It's just an exercise where you count all the possible moves from a given position but it is very helpful. He's got a ton of good content.
Don’t put too much stock into “had a 1000 player walk into that” I’m 1200 rated and went on a phat losing streak playing drunk last night
@@DietersYT haha, guess that could have been it.
@@DietersYT best excuse when you lose from lower rate players 😅
You're an incredible teacher! I watch tons of videos from big channels like gotham chess and you really do a better job of just keeping it simple and intuitive for lower less elo rating and not getting to into super complicated stuff
I currently watch both, but I prefer Gotham for the reasons you mentioned xD
this was SOOOO helpful! thank you!
Helpful and entertaining, thanks! How you stare at the camera while the 2nd checkmate, so Funny!!
I completely agree with all of these statements. Also, I feel like the Queen's Gambit is the best opening at around this level, because you can play it without knowing _any_ theory. Great job!
🤣 That was so funny. Anna's reaction is the best!
You’re awesome! Love your attitude, your smile and your skills! Keep on doin!
More of these please! Very instructive!
this is such a good video . i'm 800 and got up to 1067, but this video is so helpful to see everything so clearly, thanks Anna
This was very helpful. My teens and I have started playing a lot of chess recently, and I quite enjoy it. However, I've never taken the time to study or research strategies whatsoever. I just wing it, and we've certainly learned by trial and error. This video gives me a framework for establishing a solid opening strategy.
Same here, I used to play all the time but it's been a while and people online are much different than people in real life. You need to know a lot more online.
I'm so glad I found you because you're such a good chess communicator for someone at my level. Congrats on your achievements in the Rilton Cup! I like chess, but I don't love playing online. I usually watch chess content here on YT and I love solving mate in N like problems against a bot I'm running on my computer. I'm currently thinking I should start playing for real but stockfish, which never makes human like mistakes, is just too hard for me and I may have to simply bite the bullet and start playing online. My finances are trash so I would love a solution where I can pay a one off fee and then play online for a while rather than using something like a subscription.
Great teaching skills, thank you
Another great video, Anna!
I instantly got better and started winning games after this video. Definitely subscribing for more analysis training.
Hey Anna, I love your videos. I am about 800 right now. so I love the lower elo vids. You're a great teacher and explain things so well. I have also loved and benefitted so much from vids with your parents. So fun and I feel like I'm learning in a warm family environment. Love their different playing styles: attacking vs positional. Yours seems like a great hybrid :) Thanks so much for all your vids and all your work ! :)

Thanks you Anna, I was needing this!
Damn this scene is so dope !
Instantly gave it a try, but noone gave me a chance to go for the bishop-rook mate ^^" But, after hearing it now so many times, it finally clicked, that just bringing out your pieces in a solid way is like 80% of the game at this rating. They will blunder eventually :D
Yep......never attack with one or two pieces..........impossible
This was so helpful and hilarious too! Your mic volume is a little low, though. I have to put it on max volume, then the ads come up way too loud all of a sudden in the middle of the video
Pretty instructive! Amazing vid!
I don't even know chess. I just simply watch it because of you!
I can confirm that move works every time against 500 and below players. I’ve lost about 10xs in a row now to it. 👍

Anna, this was super excellent. Thanks so much for explaining everything so succinctly.
The exact same two games in a row and your look into the camera as the second developed the same way was so funny. 🤣
Thank you, I learned a lot!
I think you should do the same thing with other rating groups :D This was a really clever and effective way to teach the elementary principles at heuristic level with a live example, rule of thumb in a practical demonstration that touches the main bases just to get the very basic framework in place, perfect for people who know the moves and 'get' chess and whom you artfully spared any mention of chess openings at outset. It want to see what comes next as we go higher to 1200, 1600 and beyond ._.
