"Lose Yourself" is so popular because it's a song that transcends the genre of rap. Its themes of overcoming adversity and seizing opportunities are universal, and its driving beat and infectious energy make it a song that people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy. The opening is known world wide you know word for word the song and its singer is idolised and I am an English woman but this song spoke to me in such a way it changed my life literally instead of hiding what I wanted and doing what I was told it made me take a long hard look at what I was willingly allowing people to treat me and from the moment I heard this it was one of those EUREKA thoughts and my life did a 180 and I have never been more happier and settled now than anytime in my life, just by been ME and doing what I want to do. Through errors and wrong turns and listening to others tell me I am no good. This song lit a fire that is still burning. So for me this is my anthem and always will be

Eminem is so talented and he actually sounds like he does on his albums.
I feel like he even sounds better in this version.
the start was a little iffy
I honestly disagree. He sounded out of breath the whole time. Sucks getting older lol That being said, he’s my GOAT.

Lets appreciate eminem for letting Oscar's take place in his concert
He's actually very brave to perform this song totally live in his age, it is definitely one of the most difficult. And he still managed it extremely well, hat down.
*meanwhile the rolling stones..*
Maybe you're forgetting he doesn't gaf
you make it sound like older people cant sing or talk
@@omega458i mean most of the hip hop scene wouldn't be able to perform any song at all in live 😂
I know this song word for word wym difficult
It's wild. The 2003 Grammys performance was him in his prime, and the audience was pretty dead honestly. Where as in this, he's clearly older and not quite as capable of doing it perfectly or without a backing track, but he's doing great all things considered, but THIS was the performance he got a standing ovation for. Just goes to show how his legacy is alive and that people respect the hell out of him
Did he perform at the 2003 Oscars? I was under the impression that he didn’t even show up in 2003 because he was positive he wouldn’t win and then Barbara Streisand announced him as the winner and someone else accepted on his behalf. Hence why the academy asked if he would perform in 2020, because he didn’t perform in 2003
It was the Grammys
That's grammys, not oscar .. And in this performance he perform alone usually he have his backing/backup vocal with him right.. but since oscar use orchestra maybe thats why no backing vocal here..
It wasn’t “dead”, you’re just used to loud screaming diehard fans at his concerts, the Oscars are a more formal setting so of course they aren’t going to be going crazy. But they gave him a standing ovation at the end which shows they liked it
@@dy-fathiyana3385 I think his best friend used to do the backup for him to let him breath, but he is dead now and it probably didn’t feel right to Em for doing the Grammy’s without him
"Lose Yourself" is so popular because it's a song that transcends the genre of rap. So for me this is my anthem and always will be
Grew up with Eminem since I was born and now in my 20s he's still iconic and my idol

Without Eminem I don't even know where I'd be, This dude is gonna be 50 years old in 3 months and is still inspiring people through his music and words and his quotes, When I first listened to an Eminem song I instantly knew I'd be hooked on his songs, Eminem has saved me from my addiction and I'm glad he is still making rap music to this day and inspiring millions if not billions of people even to this day, This dudes legacy will never be forgotten since he has saved Hip Hop as a Genre, And when he eventually passes away there wont be an Artist that will come close to Eminem's talent and skill. Oh yes. This song, that film, was a moment in art/music performance history. Everyone in attendance knew that film was truly influential, and the song basically summed up not only the film character’s journey, but the artist’s struggle. It was brilliantly done, and we haven’t seen anything quite as uniquely special since then. I think it’s great that he came back to perform. Better late than never, and because he waited so long to make his appearance, an entire generation of people knew the lyrics for it, too. 🤩
