tbh social media played a part in his decline the off field drama and problems made him decline tbh along with injuries. You could say at united pogba didnt have a defined role and was played defensive and not at his full potential like we seen at juventus and france national team. He`s had an above average career no doubt.
If you look back then you would see that the only time he had a free role was at Juventus. With the French team he plays further back and actually put in a lot of defensive work for the team and ping his long passes from deep. Unfortunately for United Pogba did not have the discipline or consistency to play as he did for France in a 7 game tournament for a 50 odd game season . All the coaches tried to build their team around him and it backfired on them, they tried to play him in all sorts of roles but he basically failed them. Unfortunately for both Pogba and United he made a poor choice in coming back to United for money as he was not suited for the fast paced English Premier league and did not get a lot of time on the ball like in Italy. Great guy but I believe his agent Riola made some bad choices for money a not football reasons
His lack of commitment was his downfall. As Men we need to have accountability and be responsible for our own actions
Pogba is an attacking midfielder. During his time in man utd, they actually needed defense more, he doesn't really have freedom. Casemiro and bruno is proving to be a better fit.
I think he would have flourished with someone like casemiro next to him. They always expected to much devensive work from him
not really, I think it has more to do with the league being more physical. Regardless of whether you play as a CAM or CDM, most midfielders in the PL are expected to defend more due to the nature of the league. I dont think there has been a true CAM role in the PL since David Silva, and David Silva is small enough and intelligent enough to justify playing as a pure attacking midflieder without having to defend too much. Even KDB who is considered the most creative attacking midfielder today does a lot of defending - because that is the nature of this league. Pogba expected to play like it was Serie A, where he was afforded more space and time. But he is not David Silva. He is far too wasteful when he has the ball and doesnt do the running back when he doesnt have the ball. The biggest mistake was not MU or their managers, it was Pogba coming to the PL in the first place.

Pogba had two career peaks, his last season at Juventus (2015/2016) and his WC win in 2018. His time at Manchester United harmed his legacy significantly, as he joined them during a particularly unsuccessful club spell. Yet, Pogba has rarely lived up to expectations and the superstar status applied to his name.
A 1 month tournament can’t be considered a peak. All this tells us really is that if he’s going to perform to anywhere near his level of talent, then he requires the best supporting midfielders of an entire generation (Kante, Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio)
Unlimited potential. His own worst enemy. That about sums it up.

Playing in EPL is no joke. Lots of miles and hard matches. Physical game.
He actually would of fit the new utd team better. He would be beside an actually DM and have a coach that would keep him disciplined. Sadly though the injury bug would always find a way to affect him. Going forward I don’t expect him to play more than 30 games a season.

Paul Pogba has only ever been consistently great at Juventus(Where he got cover from Pirlo, Vidal, and Marchisio) and at France where he got cover from the likes of Kante. Paul Pogba is an inconsistent mess if he hasn`t got all time great players around him like Pirlo, and Marchisio, and the likes of Kante, Varane etc at France.
He’s a midfielder who can’t play good defense and is prone to losing the ball causing a counter. He plays really well with a good defensive midfielder. He would do well now at Man U with casemiro.
