I grew up with two havanese, one of them was so attached to my mother. He would howl just like this at the door when he heard her drive up to the house. Dogs really are man's best friend. The are such wonderful creatures.

My Havanese was sleeping beside me last night when he howled for the first time. So loud, three times, clear, sharp. He woke himself up and was staring at me like “what happened Mama?”. I didn’t know this was even possible. Then I found these videos thanks to google. It sounded so sad, broke my heart.

That's so great! We have a Cavanese and she howls a little like this sometimes. Not as long. She's 1/2 Cavalier and 1/2 Havanese.

I only heard my Havi puppy howl once, he was sleeping. It was such a cute yet mournful howl. I wish I knew what was on his mind to cause such a thing. He's normally a pretty happy pup.
