The plan was fine, the execution wasn't up there at Khabib's level. Justin thinks he's the superior striker and a great defensive wrestler. Khabib is not on the same level, to him a great defensive wrestler would mean a fucking bear. I also believe Khabib's striking is underrated.

Khabib doesn't smash against good opponents. He forces them on the fence, ties their legs and wears their cardio down. That's why tony has the biggest chance of winning. He has about the same cardio as khabib probably even better because his style is even more cardio demanding. Justin doesn't have cardio at all. He will get choked out in the third.

I agree with this. My only thing is that if there's a guy built to give Khabib fits, its Gaethje. Good striker, big power and he can really wrestle. Conor's ground game is ass, Poirier's wasn't great, Barboza's wasn't great, Johnson's wasn't great.. But Gaethje can keep it on the feet enough to keep it interesting. That being said - he's gotta actually do it lol and everyone who fights Khabib talks about how the thing that just shocks them is how quickly he closes distance and how strong he is. They're just not ready for it. I still have Khabib in that fight, but if Justin can't do it, I honestly don't know who can in that division.

Tony has been hurt in other fights but nobody could deal with his relentlessness and pressure.. Khabib is relentless in a way where most fighters don’t have much of a chance on the ground.. Gaethje is an All American wrestler which means he is the best of the best. Khabib is a great MMA wrestler but should try and avoid the fight at all cost. Gaethje will use his high end wrestling to avoid take downs and keep the fight on the feet. Khabib should focus on McGregor 2.

@Wayne Baptiste Great Video analysis bro. I believe Gaetjhe could be a hard fight for khabib. If Gaetjhe will use a great footwork against Khabib and avoiding the fence and defend takedowns he can win the fight, I wouldn't be surprised if he can drop khabib, we know he has heavy hands and nasty leg kicks. I think it might ended like the Holmes vs Rousey fight. Holmes was avoiding all the takedowns by Rousey and used great footwork. I can see that Khabib and Rousey has the similar type of footwork while cutting the cage. They don't use lateral movements and they bullrushing takedowns if they sense danger. No one in the ufc exploits khabib's bullrushing tendencies but I think Gaetjhe may pull it off, and obviously if you notice Khabib takedowns were relying on the fence and do the clinch work afterwards. We all know Khabib has the best ground game now in MMA but his footwork and striking ability are mediocre as it's best. He isn't GSP even in an open space, GSP can takedown his opponent because of the striking ability of GSP and by using feints and level changes. If khabib will take down Gaetjhe on the ground, I know it's over. Gaetjhe has great wrestling background but he doesn't have the level of BJJ and guard game that Tony has, We all know Tony's BJJ is nasty and sick, especially his guard game, (elbows from the guard, triangles, armbars, leg locks and scrambles) which it can threatens khabib. Do you think Gaetjhe has the skills to pull it off if Khabib will be able to take him down. Eventually, I think the only gameplan of Gaetjhe is by using great footwork, avoiding the fence, using counters if Khabib's try to bullrush takedowns and defend takedowns since he has wrestling background.

That's *exactly* what I was thinking too. You can totally *tell* that Joe is trying to avoid saying things that could/would shake Justin's confidence. Its kind, but also sort of callous. I like Justin. His fight vs Tony was outstanding. He has a lot of skill, and he's got top-class boxing... but (sadly) he's still going to get *smesh.* Poor Justin.

the strategy was great. many of the fighters’ strategies were great. it’s just once you get in front of him it’s a whole different story. they forget he can actually box, at least good enough to keep him from any real danger. and he was eating some MONSTER shots and kept marching Justin down which I think kinda killed some of Gaethje’s confidence. but when they got to the ground the skill gap was just too much.

Last minute of the first round you start getting popped, Hard . 2nd round you immediately are taken down and slowly moved to the fence , then you start watching the clock with that dazed look in your eyes realizing you cannot stop him. 3rd round he's beating the shit out of you standing up cuz you're scared for him to shoot, last place you want to be is back on your back. The cycle just repeats itself doesn't matter who's in the ring.

I agree with this. My only thing is that if there's a guy built to give Khabib fits, its Gaethje. Good striker, big power and he can really wrestle. Conor's ground game is ass, Poirier's wasn't great, Barboza's wasn't great, Johnson's wasn't great.. But Gaethje can keep it on the feet enough to keep it interesting. That being said - he's gotta actually do it lol and everyone who fights Khabib talks about how the thing that just shocks them is how quickly he closes distance and how strong he is. They're just not ready for it. I still have Khabib in that fight, but if Justin can't do it, I honestly don't know who can in that division.

Gaethje is an All American wrestler which means he is the best of the best. Khabib is a great MMA wrestler but should try and avoid the fight at all cost. Gaethje will use his high end wrestling to avoid take downs and keep the fight on the feet. Khabib should focus on McGregor 2.

@Wayne Baptiste Great Video analysis bro. I believe Gaetjhe could be a hard fight for khabib. If Gaetjhe will use a great footwork against Khabib and avoiding the fence and defend takedowns he can win the fight, I wouldn't be surprised if he can drop khabib, we know he has heavy hands and nasty leg kicks. I think it might ended like the Holmes vs Rousey fight. Holmes was avoiding all the takedowns by Rousey and used great footwork. I can see that Khabib and Rousey has the similar type of footwork while cutting the cage. They don't use lateral movements and they bullrushing takedowns if they sense danger. No one in the ufc exploits khabib's bullrushing tendencies but I think Gaetjhe may pull it off, and obviously if you notice Khabib takedowns were relying on the fence and do the clinch work afterwards. We all know Khabib has the best ground game now in MMA but his footwork and striking ability are mediocre as it's best. He isn't GSP even in an open space, GSP can takedown his opponent because of the striking ability of GSP and by using feints and level changes. If khabib will take down Gaetjhe on the ground, I know it's over. Gaetjhe has great wrestling background but he doesn't have the level of BJJ and guard game that Tony has, We all know Tony's BJJ is nasty and sick, especially his guard game, (elbows from the guard, triangles, armbars, leg locks and scrambles) which it can threatens khabib. Do you think Gaetjhe has the skills to pull it off if Khabib will be able to take him down. Eventually, I think the only gameplan of Gaetjhe is by using great footwork, avoiding the fence, using counters if Khabib's try to bullrush takedowns and defend takedowns since he has wrestling background.

the strategy was great. many of the fighters’ strategies were great. it’s just once you get in front of him it’s a whole different story. they forget he can actually box, at least good enough to keep him from any real danger. and he was eating some MONSTER shots and kept marching Justin down which I think kinda killed some of Gaethje’s confidence. but when they got to the ground the skill gap was just too much.
