Off Grid LOG CABIN Build / Peeling LOGS for the Bathroom/Sauna (S3 Ep10)

2021 ж. 15 Қар.
314 135 Рет қаралды

I will be expanding the log cabin, to add the bathroom and sauna after deciding that doing it inside the current structure would take the much needed space for other important things. Myself and a friend, some know him from previous videos, peeled all 12 logs in just one day. This idea randomly came to our mind when we started early in the morning around 7:00 and we continued with peeling until 3:00 in the morning next day. I was getting to the limit with the last logs, but somehow we made it.
Thank you for watching!

  • Hello from Arkansas USA! just wanted to let you know how much we enjoy your videos and miss you when you don't put one out regular. We worry that something might be wrong. We understand you have a life and it is more important than You Tube and patiently wait for the next one. I also wanted to say how impressed we are at all of the old school skills you have demonstrated in the building of your cabin. it is really impressive of how tightly your logs fit together! Thanks again for bringing some joy into our lives and the beautiful shots of your part of the world that you live in. we enjoy those, almost as much as watching you work on the cabin. :) blessings to you and all of your family.

  • So happy to see you back! Have missed your videos. Cheers from Tasmania. Edited to add that the "banana shovel" is unique! *smiles* Surely that is a new world record for peeling logs!! Also, why did you plant 2 trees in the same hole, so close together?

    • Because when I pull them out from the ground they were growing together and sometimes I did put 2 in the same hole if one of them wouldn't survive. We had a very dry summer so many didn't make it. Thanks for watching!

  • Hey Nik, great to see you back. The last video I think...been along time, was just before winter of 2020. You got the roof on and the front door and then disappeared. Many where anticipating that you'd continuing working in the winter. Then when you didn't, we wondered if you and your family were ok; still nothing. Then just before winter...or close to it, you reappear in 2021 to do some log cleaning. Great to see you, hope you're family is well. Look forward to watching whats next on the cabin. Maybe the front porch...the front balcony...or even the flooring of the first and second floor. I do remember the tree stub that you managed to put on the first floor for a table or ? Maybe also the construction of a stone fireplace and the stone chimmey through the roof... Anticipating all of those projects, your fantastic camera work of nature accompanied by that wonderful jazz!!!

  • Nick, what an awesome job you have done so far on your cabin. There are those out there that can't stand it when someone does something exceptional and is acknowledged for it. Don't let the negatives who only comment because it's the only way they can draw any attention to themselves. People like that have never done anything worthy of recognition and probably never will. Don't let them rain on your parade. Keep doing what you do, we love it.
