I hope they look after Fluffy better than they did their own father. The place screams neglect
@@ryanOGab Can I ask what makes it appear that way? The place looks messy, but it doesn't look necessarily filthy. Plus, hearing from the news anchor it sounded like he was living independently at the time, which a lot of elderly people choose to do even at their own detriment.
@@lobstersonskateboards3988 That place is/ was a death trap for an elderly person. Why has an 84-year-old have an upright shower and doing it alone and has everything possible in his home on the floor where it can obstructuctive his path and trip him. No one in his family checked up on him in 16 hours and none of the house was remodified for him, look at the size of the bathroom he was expected to manoeuvre in and how tiny the shower space is/was. Very sadly am not surprised he died only a year after this.
@@ryanOGab Actually... Yeah, you're right. Not to mention that the time he fell to the time he got the phone, the family definitely would've been awake by then. cats are way smarter than dogs too
My 19 year old cat has shocked me with her intelligence. I've had dogs before and I kinda gave up because dogs are so loud, obnoxious and destructive. Then I ended up with my girlfriends cat, and everything changed. This cat is incredibly sweet and loving and smart! She has literally prevented harm to me by running up and down my body meowing loudly as I slept in my motorhome while some people were attempting to break in to the RV and woke me up! She also sounds like she answers certain words with meows that sound like she's trying to pronounce certain simple words like 'yeah' 'what'', and a few other one syllable words..her answers even making sense to what I ask her. I've told other cat owners about this and they were like: yeah my older cat can do that too. I love this cat now so dearly and with all my heart and she makes it known she loves me too. It only took two months to truly bond with the cat and the cat with I, now me, my girlfriend and this cat are inseparable. If someone says they hate cats then they've obviously never owned one.
when dog people realize that cats are better...
I love both animals I’m never one sided between “cats and dogs” that’s just retarded and every animal is clearly different some dogs are very chill and calm as some cats who’re very energetic but I’m not divided between which one is best I love and appreciate both type of animals
@@elmaschimba963 I still love all animals too. But as far as owning one.. I'm a cat guy from here on out
Yes, it is a red flag if someone hates cats. Narcissists prefer dogs since they are blindly "loyal" and don't care for any other animals. You need to earn the trust of cats (and other non-dog pets). I've worked with both and a lot of dog owners (usually pitbull owners) always said how they hated cats and let their dog attack small animals. Horrible people. I love all kinds of animals, big and small and always try to let people know, sometimes, if a dog isn't the best pet for their lifestyle, to give a different animal a chance of a loving home.

This made me cry. Fluffy is the best! Cats are the best, period.
Cats understand more than we give them credit for. I never tried to teach my cat any commands. When he was 9 years old I got a small dog. I taught the dog to sit, stay, lay down, come etc. I always made the dog sit to get her treat. I would then hand one to the cat as well just to be "fair". One day I decided to ask the cat to "sit" for his treat. It took three requests, but then he did it. He is as reliable with the command as the dog is now. I didn't have to teach it, he just observed the dog.
Cats learn by watching. Never force it to do tricks. That's what I learned.
True. I never teach my cat about potty training, but I just put my kitten in front of my other cat who is using the litter box. I did that for several times, and my kitten do the job right away. They only need to watch to learn
Cats get a reputation of being untrainable because dogs are merely eager to please, the cat needs to get something out of it that it thinks it worth its time and effort. Cats are trainable, they're just not suckers.
My cat will sit and shake for a treat.
My cat knows paw
Well he saved the cat’s life by adopting it, in returns the cat saved his life too. What a beautiful story!

Yes they do, when I was a child like about 9 years old a man tried to come in my room through the window. It was night time, I guess trying to kidnap me. My cat screamed so loud and attacked the man trying to come in. I yeld so loud that my dad came to the room. I explained my father what happened and he ran off to look for this man. He had took off quickly on a car parked outside my house. I was so scared and I'm glad I had kitty with me. Animals can become territorial. Don't know what would of happened if kitty wasn't there.
Some cats may be aloof but others are very engaged with their owners and very protective. I had an experience similar to the girl who commented about someone trying to break into her room. One of my cats, at least, will not tolerate someone coming into the house with evil intent. I also recently saw something on the news where a cat attacked an intruder. When the police came the intruder had to be taken to the hospital.
Further, If you have a cat who doesn’t naturally defend his home territory, he can still be used as a weapon. I taught my kids, when they were younger “If anyone should ever try to break in, you pick up one of the cats and throw it at them. The cat will not get hurt but that the intruder will.”
For the past hour, I’ve been watching videos of cats saving people and other animals. I need to show these videos to my cat in case I ever need help. My expectations for her have never been higher.

He has a life alert, but it was charging. If it was with him, it would probably be fine. Other people in the comments were saying that with elderly people that live alone, someone should call their house twice a day to make sure they're okay.
A man still needs his independence; even at his age. Nursing home is not the magical place people think they are.
@@miamitten1123 Yes , quite the inverse... road to death
@@miamitten1123 , Thank you, unless I'm totally disabled I won't leave my little house and cats,
Don't leave your grandparents alone, kids. They might not be so lucky to have such a pet.
Well what if he didnt have kids? Check on your elderly neighbors. One day they'll be you.😇
Look after them as much as possible because when they go, you blame yourself for not being there enough
Alternatively, if they're close to passing away, don't get them a pet. They'll eat them when they die.
@@ScuffedAndSwagga Unfortunate, but true.
Mine are already dead. So hah!
And now I am sitting in a puddle of my tears. Good job, fluffy. ❤
Amagine knowing that the very thing that kept you alive to this very day was none other than a cat. You know how much you would value that thing? And not to mention being so thankful and suprised at what just happened at that very moment when it did happen.
For everyone who keeps asking, the owner said ring-a-ding, then the cat brought the cell phone to him so he could call for help

A baby cat 😺 that is so awesome, they are the best
I believe angels saved him as well and used the kitten as his savior. The kitten is a fast learner, too.

Fluffy the Supercat!!! Wow what an amazing cat and story!! Cats are super smart and should never be underestimated!! So happy you were alright sir!!! God bless Fluffy!!! Rest in peace Ron! 💐🤗✝️🙏🔥🕊️
The cat knew it wasn't normal for her pal to stay on the floor or in the bathroom for many hours, so when he wanted her to get the phone she also could tell by his voice that he was in trouble. She wanted to help him, so when he asked her to get the phone she did. I'm glad that her pal had another year with her. According to other commenters, he passed away after that, but his family kept the cat.🤗
When he said, "you're my only hope and followed up with --and he was" got me bawling ... It was not the cat that saved this man...it was the love they shared that saved him... the adorable cat had never left him, he just needed instruction.. ring a ding...

My dad is 87 and always hated cats until we adopted our cat, Dennis. Cats are the best! My dad was born on September 6, 1935 so when I heard Ron was also born in September I had to comment.
I lost my best friend, my dog, and my cat all in the same week, and all from separate reasons. I found a kitten on the side of the highway the very next week and rescued her. She quickly returned the favor and saved me from my darkest hours. Animals are the innocent and deserve our protection as they also protect us.
I hope your friend, dog and cat all rest in peace. Much love to your kitten.

The suffering that goes with the loss of a pet is beyond measure. The pain is enormous. At least for me it is.
@@boblangford81 _Animals are the innocent and deserve our protection_ . So does this mean that you don’t eat *any* of them?
Please call your elderly every day. Check up on them. It's important, especially when they have no one else nearby
Very true.
That’s why my uncles and aunts decided to live near my grandparents
@Amira Datumanong yes, I'm 81, live alone, nobody calls me, it's ok , I'm used to it, My cell phone is with me always and everywhere.

God Bless you Mr. Williams & Fluffy too! - I just read in these comments Mr. Williams passed away about a year later, I pray Fluffy is in a safe & happy home!

"No, this isn't dog."
I've got a similar story with my dog, Jack. Once Jack started barking like crazy in the middle of the night, so my mom got up to see what was going on. She tried checking the front door, but he kept pointing toward my grandfather's room. He had a fall and the dog heard it and knew something was wrong. Once my mom confirmed my grandfather was ok Jack started running around the house because he was proud of himself for helping

Cats can learn words. I don't understand why some people hate them. They are the most loyal companions.

@@tenniskinsella7768 stupid comment!! Maybe feral cats that have no other choice but generally speaking neutered and cared for cats don't thrive on birds. Besides if you were living in the wild and had to fend for yourself how would you survive do tell!!!
@@tenniskinsella7768 oh no not the birds
@@tenniskinsella7768 I bet you said that while you were eating your KFC

Cats are capable of learning commands but they aren't as submissive as dogs which makes it harder to teach them. Cats actually have slightly higher IQ than dogs. But their social intelligence is a bit lower.
@Wattle Still the same. Its a click once you train cats
@Wattle Then why are you asking in the first place. Honestly You dog people will always find a way to frame cats you Log head
@Wattle So you come in talking about how you can't train cats and get start getting offended when they starting to speak facts about a cat
@Wattle In this video, you clearly see a kitten saving its owner by a command and the kitten did
What a precious story! Animals are so much smarter than we realize. This is incredible and so heart warming 💜
This actually made me cry. I miss my kitty so much 😭
Cats are much smarter than people think. About ten years ago I adopted a tiny kitten from the humane society. I left my two boy cats to watch over her while I was gone because they took to her right away and is still very protective of her to this day. When I came home I was looking everywhere and I couldn't find her. Out of desperation I asked my oldest cat where's the baby help me find her. He looked at me with this bored look, walked from the kitchen through the living room and walked to the plant she was sleeping in, in the dining room. He stood next to the plant and then looked up at me like here she is. Ten years later and it still freeks me out, I had no idea he would understand me.
my people has this exact trick. if you lost your cat, ask your neighbors cats if theyve seen your cat and if they do please tell them to come home. more than often the cats will return.
Similar thing happened to me, but I used to own a barn cat and I know she recently had kittens. One day while I was outside she started calling to me. I remember just following her and everytime I would stop she would look back and wait for me until I started following again. I even recorded her doing this! It was so magical
Similar story here. I have 2 cats, one female one male. The male cat gets crazy with his hormones sometimes and can't help but to pee somewhere in the house. He was outside and my mom smelled the pee. She was looking around, searching for the paddle, and the feline was watching her. She said "don't look at me like this, better show me where Pieszczoch (cat's name, polish) peed" and the cat lead her to where he peed. She got petted thoroughly of course :) she's very smart. He is too, he understands when I tell him to meow for me and other stuff.
One time my cat was bothering me while I was studying for finals. I pointed and told her to go take her aggression out on her scratching post. She left the room and after I finished studying she was sitting by the scratching post, with the most patient look on her face 😭 never again will I underestimate their comprehension!
