In case you're wondering what the first clip was about. One of the games the Cubs bullpen played was called Bullpen Chicken, where if a foul ball was hit their way, they were not allowed to move for any reason. Sadly they can't do it anymore since they moved the bullpen at Wrigley Field from the baselines to under the bleachers after the latest renovations. (More info added below.) As for the ball changing direction, it's well known that Travis Wood possess psychokinetic powers. Addendum edit (For those who want to know everything and then some): ● The rules of Bullpen Chicken are as follows: During the game, as the pitchers are sitting in the bullpen, either on the bench along the wall or on folding chairs in front of the bullpen mound, they face the batter. If a foul ball comes their way, the object is to remain as still as possible, regardless of how close the ball comes to them, or even if it hits them. ● An official winner was never declared. However if a player did take a ball to the face, and didn't flinch, they would have been declared the winner. ● Bullpen chicken was started by the bullpen catcher Chad Noble in 2015, and then resurrected by reliever Travis Wood. ● Management did know about the game, but did not publicly disavow or stop it. ● The plan to move the bullpen to under the bleachers was already planned as part of a large scale, long term renovation of Wrigley Field, it wasn't done because of the bullpen's antics. ● Most importantly: The ball did strike Wood on the calf, and he did pitch in the 9th that day, where the Cubs won 6-1

Obmot58 P Maybe that’s why they moved it. I mean you take one to the face you’re gonna go out for a little while
Thanks for explaining...I didn't know.
Thank u for explaining. I was lost but now I'm found.😁
😂😂
BlackKnight03 what would happen if someone moved though?
I remember during a rain delay the brewers and cubs had a dance off
Who won?
S Gill i don’t recall
S Gill I think the cubs surrendered after a bit
Cubs and dbacks had a good one too!!
Lol i remember that
Damn Chicago teams sure do like doing this, awesome to see.
Me too! 😂 I’m a Chicago fan

Chris Craven Yolmer!
I love it, I wanna see more of it! This coming from an Indians fan lol.
i'm laughing while still ask "why man, why?"
It's gatorade, does one really need a reason?

I wouldnt say a walkoff homer is extremely rare. however, i will agree that a gatorade bath *IS* priceless.
Yolmer Sanchez pouring the gatorade on himself MULTIPLE TIMES just had me in tears
I came back to watch it again, cracks me up just thinking about it
that was pretty funny, but why were the white sox celebrating so much they haven't been good for a long time haha just kidding looks like they were just having fun haha
Its so good
Funniest part of the video imo
He did it again 5/27/19 a.k.a. today
Love this. Wish MLB would allow for more fun and really capitalize on the amount of personality in their players like the NFL and NBA
I hope that doesn't happen. I sometimes like seeing that stuff in the NBA and NFL, but I really hope that doesn't transition over to MLB where you see it on a daily basis.
Ville24 so are you saying that you hate fun because if you do I think I saw someone having fun over in the end zone during a football game and if it’s interference they are trying to have fun because your comment is literally saying you hate fun
New York Superbowl Football Giants I think that the NFL is more strict about stuff like that
Will 16o something games they need a whole lot of this entertainment.
@@camcook9965 yeah I was gonna say, NFL is "No Fun League"

Literally a third of all mlb players having fun videos are of Beltre being Beltre lol
I'd imagine you can't take baseball so seriously while playing 162 games.
Plus 2+ weeks spring training, month of spring training games, and any postseason games.
@Black N Gold it's the same as people in public safety or utility type trades, always having fun with each other. I know I couldn't handle me risking my health and safety every day if I couldn't joke around with the broworkers.
10:20 Legend has it that the ball is still up there
Xfiles theme starts playing...
I laughed out loud so hard at that part
I had been in this country for a year ( Ireland) the old man took us to a game, my first, there was a rain delay, and several players came over to the wall (third base line) and taught us to play quarter's. My first lasting memory of this country, God bless baseball.
It’s nice seeing players who play baseball for the love of the game and for having fun

im still so confused at what the ball actually hit

My brothers baseball team had a tournament but it rained a lot, so instead of waiting until it stopped, the other team and them then had a Rock Paper Scissors battle from the dugouts to distance each other. They made a deal, who ever won the RPS tournament got to bat first. It was amazing
Chicago loves to have fun!
Chicago lives to have it's city over run by violence

2:25 Dude started questioning himself after this hug.
didnt the catch and the tag make it a double play, therefore it not being a live ball
3:17 ump is like "Relax, Karen"
Baez hugged him on purpose trying to be sneaky
Durgan Zappala I don’t think so because you can see how arenado almost fell over and braced himself against Baez. I think they just hugged as a joke because they were already partially hugging and they wanted to show there were no hard feelings from Nolan kinda shoving Baez to keep from falling over
there were runners on first and second ... no runners could have "advanced" due to this hug lmao ... the announcers were so clueless and probably was their first time calling a baseball game
jhanks2012 I’m not so sure. I’m from Denver. Arenado is a helluva shortstop. He could have potentially gunned that ball to 1st, even after applying the tag and ended the inning. I think. I could be wrong, but it’s not unheard of?
@@Reblwitoutacause well hes a 3rd baseman not a shortstop
@@Reblwitoutacause lol no way he would have been able to get the guy at first. It took way to long for the tag before the hug.

Some announcers don't understand fun
Kazza Jaxon AHEM Arod
Kazza Jaxon 2:46
To be fair, it was the Wild Card game, bottom of the 11th and there was still a runner on second after the play, so it's understandable that Matt (the announcer who was calling the play) was confused as to why Arenado wouldn't just turn 2 and end the inning, with the extremely high stakes and all.
@@driftking3583 get a life. That didnt happen and Baez was just having fun. If it had happened the refs would've done something.
