These kids need parental guidance, and we see that this season. The guys are given bad advice from the gym coach, and this stems from his dad. If his dad had accepted his faults and took accountability, his son would have turned out a better person, but instead he’s immature and ignorant. • i think the focus was needed. this show is watched by mainly teenagers and by depicting a guy going from essentially an incel to redemption creates the chance for other guys to learn from the show. sadly, there isnt an absence of men to fill the void andrew tate's content left and unless someone else gets to them first and shows them an example of how men should and can act, more will just fall down that pipeline. i get what you mean about it being realistic which can make it kinda hard to watch - from a woman's perspective, seeing the stats on this sort of ideology growing is terrifying and people like using media as a form of escapism from these issues. but i think the show takes its role as a piece of influential media seriously and realises that whilst talking about this stuff makes it less fun, it does mean it has a bigger impact.

  • I really like Spider’s development this season. The whole point of showcasing his mom is to see what sort of environment he was raised in. His mom isn’t just a terrible person, she wholeheartedly believes her son will do something dangerous to a woman. She believes he will become a criminal based on a “prophetic” dream she had when he entered puberty. That means he’s probably been hearing her say that she has no faith in him being a good person since he was as young as 12 probably. So Spider, whose mom doesn’t believe in him simply played into what other expect him to be: abrasive, toxic, and annoying. Him being with Missy not only gave him someone who believes he can be more than that but also gave him someone who’ll stay. Not saying it excuses his actions, but it gives him an opening towards redemption and possibly growing out of the immature phase. Another thing about Spider is the demisexual representation he exhibits. Even back in season 1, he’s shown to not feel sexual attraction like others do. When he was hooking up with Amerie, he could not get aroused. His note saying”betrayed by my on d*ck” shows how he’s struggling with the inability to feel attraction like others. Missy is the only partner we know of who wasn’t put off by his inability to not get it up which eventually led to him feeling comfortable in her presence and getting aroused. Spider is an ass*ole but he’s not a criminal/villain as evident in when he realizes how incredibly unhinged Voss was after hearing the entire story of why Voss has this hatred towards society. I think he can change. With some therapy and maybe putting boundaries between him and his mom.

  • I think you missed the mark in describing Quinnie’s character arch. The point was Darren and company were not acknowledging the amount of work and effort it takes for her to mask and Yes she didn’t like that she was being to feel distance from her friends she was had a point. It was valid for her to call Darren out for basically saying she wasn’t putting in enough effort when her whole life has been spent trying to accommodate to others and people don’t do it to the same extent for her. Also I feel like Darren and Ca$h kissing at the end in addition to him coming to the dance to win Darren back over was enough evidence to imply that they may be back together. If anything it’s pretty ambiguous and it don’t think it was obvious that they were broken up.

    • i was very confused by Darren's behavior towards Quinni this season because last season they were always very accommodating with her and they made sure to pay attention to what she needed. it was to the point where they did a much better job than i did with my autistic sibling (i know Quinni and Darren aren't siblings but my sibling and i are also friends) and i lived with my autistic sibling for 18 years. the sudden change of heart didn't make much sense to me. the only way that I could maybe see this working but I feel like it should have been led up two more is that Darren may have felt a bit burnt out from accommodating for Quinni but if so, why did that just come out of nowhere? it's something ppl deal with sometimes and if they were feeling that way and had an arc about it that would have been nice to see. Quinni seemed like she might have been burnt out too. both of those things are valid and maybe they can do things to address that in the future?

    • Yes! Chook is still scary, violent, a professional crim, but the scene at the flat where he's telling Cash to come back, and then the whole scene on the boat -- Chook uses Cash, but he also cares about him, and they went through being in group home together, labelled as "child of addict" together 💔 I'm glad Cash is getting free of Chook, and I would not want to meet Chook irl, but that scene was so powerful, I could see the frightened kid that Chook once was

Skins is everything euphoria was aiming to be except it missed the fun lighthearted moments of your teen years that skins had. There’s even so much to say about quinines character being the Cassie of this show. Different experience but the quirky girl thing is there. Overall love the show. Skins was era defining TV and also Heartbreak High is a re-boot and was on AUS/ UK TV in the 90s, some of the characters are rehashed but in different ways to keep up with current trends and culture. Those scenes were like difficult to watch, but I thought the coach character was kinda like based off of Andrew T*te. I also loved what they did with Sasha's character too and how she was literally shaming Harper, a victim, in the name of being 'woke' (in quotes because I think Sasha was very performative and not actually woke). • I initially didn’t enjoy the first episode as I found the C-Lords to be extremely aggravating, and honestly far too realistic. The bullying in that episode also made it hard to like any of the characters. But it got way better very quickly. Spider has issues, but the point of his actions at the end was that he chose to be better and not because he wanted Missy’s approval. Quinny’s callousness towards her friends was frustrating, especially her saying that they all only look out for themselves when they literally made the entire day about her and got her a replica phone. But I do love her character outside of that moment. Rowan obviously had received mental health help in Dubbo as they said he went there to get better, so no doubt he will get more help once his family realise that he is seeing his brother again. I loved it. Can’t wait for more episodes. Missy is my favourite character of this season. I also liked that Spider’s crush started when he saw her in action, being sporty and aggressive. It reinforces that strong women can definitely be sexy.

So the three of swords is heartbreak, grief and loss (The fortune teller then interprets heartbreak with betrayal so we'll work with that). In the first season we got Amerie's betrayal to Harper, in the second season we got Rowan's loss. Maybe in the third season we get someone's grief, possibly Amerie's. Or Rowan is grief and maybe the 3d season is about loss but I don't think so.

I loved Missy & Spider’s relationship unfold. I love Ca$h’s Nan in this season… Superior character addition. Worst character was that freaking coach (i actually get the ick when he’s on screen) I’m genuinely obsessed with this season. Rowan is hot…. but sooooo messy & I still dont know how I feel about him and I’ve watched this 3x S1 was rewatchable, but Harper’s story line is just a tad too much for me. S1 doesn’t put me on an emotional roller coaster like S2 does. Finally, I have TONS of thoughts. But I love that every character explored their friendship with others. • I quite liked it, and as an Australian it was very accurate to my high school experience (and the experiences of other Aussie’s. Even the arson according to someone I know). My only complaint is I don’t like the psychotics as villains trope, only because psychosis is a heavily stigmatised disorder and using a disorder/disability to explain why someone is villainous has been something the mentally I’ll and disabled communities have been trying to push back against. Like, Rowan being psychotic bothered me, because we definitely need more accurate and positive representation of psychotics and this just wasn’t that. The average psychotic would not be doing something like that, and I don’t like how his crimes were attributed to his disorder, when psychosis is as already stated, a very stigmatised and stereotyped disorder. Like, psychotics aren’t dangerous, I’m friends with a few and they’re fine, so it just bothered me. Everything else was fine, and as an autistic asexual I loved Quinni and Ca$h’s story arcs. I also loved Ca$h just calling out peoples acephobia. Like, Dusty honestly sucked for trying to say Ca$h’s identity was selfish, like you’re not going to call a gay person selfish for not returning the feelings of women, so why is it selfish to be asexual? Quinni’s arc, loved it. It is so annoying to have people tell youthar the world can’t follow by your rules when you’ve spent your entire life following everyone else’s rules when they refuse to even actually explain them to you. Like, why is this rude? To me this seems fine? But yeah, loved it mostly, just that one complaint about the villain being psychotic.

Spider is annoying, though it was good that they started to give him layers this season so he wasn’t as one dimensional as S1. My pet peeve is that the actor looks like he’s 30. I think he’s in his late 20s, but he looks 30 to me. Not even close to a teenager.
