Set chickens on leads on a fence tower two hundred blocks in the sky. They're so small that even a bunch of them won't be too noticeable above the cloud layer, and it will just rain eggs on their build, filling their inventory and confusing them but ultimately harmless.

Also you CAN get rid of the TNT's without destroying any blocks. Wanna know how? Just place a water bucket.
Another trap: pressure plate on an observer with tnt. If they step on the pressure plate, the observer detects that change and sets off the tnt. But if they break the pressure plate the observer detects that change and sets off the tnt. It’s just a more simple version of the trap that takes the pressure plate with a hopper and an observer sets it off
Just set up a tnt minecart trap it’s way easier and effective then what your on about not to be rude just honest
Nah the real play is to put a tnt under an observer under ANOTHER observer under a pressure plate because most people will see the obvious observer and mine it. And then they will die

1:55 since it's walled with a solid block, if they have any blocks with them (even just a slab) and they time it correctly, they can place the block below their feet and it gives them something to stand on. From there, they can mine their way out or continue placing blocks until they reach the top.

Also the easiest way to stop lava from going everywhere is to dig a hole directly under where it's gonna flow. Because of how minecraft fluid mechanics work, if the hole is just big enough for all of the flowing lava to flow into, you won't have to worry about it going everywhere.

7:10 lets appreciate the fact that the block with a rail survived a tnt minecart explosion, and a few others.
It's a deliberate feature of TNT minecarts to not destroy the rails they are on and the block under those rails.
Here's a more fowl version of the lava/anvil on scaffolding trick: 1. build scaffolding very high up 2. Place some blocks around the scaffolding 3. Get excessive numbers of eggs 4. Hatch as many as you can or see fit. 5. Sit back, hope your friend gets curious, and witness the slowly descending army of chickens. It's entirely harmless if you don't put enough to lag the server that much and don't put the trap where a bunch of fowl could cause problems but boy is it hilarious to watch their shock, confusion, and laughter. It's the kind of prank even the victim should like.

Don't "find" them, first step is to get a form of knockout gas, 2nd step is to bring your new "friend" back to your house, preferably keep them in a windowless room attached to a chair via rope (because they usually freak out at first), And I'm sure you can take it from here :)

I know a good way to ruin my friend’s home: you set up a lot of withers with just one head missing under their base with droppers that place the last head so that when they come back and trigger it (with whatever triggering system you have) well they’ll hate you and you would’ve gained nothing from that
Stuff like that is only really ever applicable against someone who did something in the same vein to you, or on anarchy servers. If you do this sort of thing to your friends on just a server where you all play together, it'd be safe to say you might not be friends with them anymore at the end of the day

Trap idea: Move and you'll die: Place a pressure plate, dig under the block the pressure plate is on and place redstone. Then trail the redstone to block. Place a redstone torch on the opposite side of the block and place a bunch of tnt next to it (Note: throw an object on the pressure plate before placing the redstone torch or else the tnt will explode) Now, if the try to step away from the pressure plate the tnt will explode.

For number two, with a Redstone inverter, you can put a torch on the back of the block so when the diamonds are broken, it will send a signal to the tnt to explode it. The obsever way is much easier though.

Best trap: put smooth stone under a stone pressure plate. The outline around the smooth stone texture looks like an observer or dispenser. The pressure plate covers the rest. This will make them not want to touch it, but it is harmless.

The best prank with redstone i ever made was one where you'd open a chest full of nothing but single blocks of cobblestone, and a bunch of diamonds in random spots so they'd take time to pick them all out. Then, they're dropped into water and TNT is detonated under them, as the roof opens. It launches you into freakin ORBIT but i never had any friends to test it on...
