I still occasionally go back to the series just to watch that song as well as as the song with Rachel and Jesse, Listen to Your Heart. Which I think is my favorite performance in the whole series. The way Jesse comes back (again) and gives Rachel hope and love is perfect.

I mean, not talking about reconds on charts and all the Emmys winnings, but Glee actually meant so much for a lot of people - me included. Kurt was not a character in the pilot script but actor Chris Colfer impressed the producers so much at his audition that they created the character for him - "Kurt" because they said Colfer looked like he had been in the cast of 'The Sound of Music'.
Sue Sylvester is one of the greatest tv characters of all time. Sue vs Shue are some of the most memorable hilarious moments.

Some key insights if you decided to keep watching: - your love/hate relationship with Rachel will continue on for many seasons - you will often be wondering how they managed the production value for many of the performances they do in 'rehearsal' - I hope you loved 'Don't Stop Believing' because it comes up many times again as their signature song! - you definitely have the story plots figured out for the coming season(s) in respect of Rachel/Finn and the whole fake baby drama - if you knew the story of the actor who played Puck, that whole non-trust vibe makes more sense!
Amber Riley won an Olivier which is the UK version of a Tony for playing Effie in dream girls.. plus she recently released an album under the name Riley called Riley. It’s amazing.. oh and she won dancing with the stars in 2013 while still acting on glee

I think people tend to forget that Glee was literally written for Lea Michele. That's why Rachel got away with so much. Rachel Berry was created specifically for her. With no Rachel, there would have been no GLEE.

I played Adelaide in Guys & Dolls in high school. It is a great play! I love Glee! I found it in my twenties after it had already finished airing, but I was obsessed once I watched the first episode! I’ve watched it like 5 times all the way through at this point. Gotta love how Hannah’s instincts were totally right about like everyone & everything on the show! 😂 you should totally watch more episodes! The last one could be cool. I’m trying to think of specific ones that you could watch. The Quarterback is a really sad one with a lot of emotion. It’s the episode right after the actor that played Finn (Cory Monteith) passed away. I break down every time I watch it.
Little bit of trivia. Corey who played Finn sent in an audition tape. Knowing full well it was a singing show and ONLY played the drums. It actually intrigued the show runners enough that they called him in to read.

Fun fact! The audition songs in the show were based off the own actors actual audition songs! The only one who got changed (at least I'm pretty sure) was Jenna Ushkowitz, because her character got changed to be more goth and her audition song was musical theatre so it wouldn't have fit

GLEE was a phenomenon, and yes, it was a very different time. I hope you watch the whole show to just enjoy it and not take it seriously or out of context. It is so interesting to hear your professional takes on how and what they are doing. Keep going!!
The one thing I liked about the middle-later seasons of this show was that they deconstructed the whole Love's Destiny thing with Finn and Rachel. Honestly... they were horrible for each other for long stretches of the show, and I think it was intentional. But it felt like Finn and Rachel were _growing_ into people who were right for each other over the fourth season... Then Cory Monteith died. I want to live in a world where he DIDN'T go home to Toronto that night to hang out with 'friends'. For significantly more of a reason than just being able to see the show end like it was intended to end.
