  • Fun fact: although Anna Kendrick plays an "alto" in the Pitch Perfect films (because she's edgy 💅), she admitted in an interview that she actually sang the soprano harmony for almost the entire film.

  • Fun Fact: Ester Dean, who plays Cynthia Rose, actually wrote S&M, and some of her background vocals are in the final cut of the song. So if that part in the riff-off sounds similar to the actual song, it's because it's the same singer!

    @davenia7@davenia7 Жыл бұрын
    • No literally, it’d be like living in hell. Like me telling my mom about the school: “ yeah they have a mediocre football team, but… there are like a handful of acapella groups that range from amateur to internationally recognized?” It would be amusing for sure

We compete between 2 different sides but in total there’s 4 sides (two don’t compete cause one is for when they don’t wanna be on either side and the other is they are against all of it) but it’s so fun and silly and it gives me the biggest pitch perfect vibes

Specifically, when he just WENT for that high note in Since U Been Gone even though he wasn't sure it would work out. Absolutely fearless! Love it! (Also, anyone else totally resonate with when Benji tried to calm himself down and he was like "everybody be cool. It's just a normal day.") ?? lol

  • I love this movie. One of my favorites. My least favorite thing is Chloe getting bass notes. Not because it’s impossible (even though it is) but the entire movie is about a group of women that we want to win at the end of the movie. They mention in the beginning that women haven’t done as well because they can’t sing the low notes that round out the arrangement etc. This movie should have been about them winning as themselves. Not because one of them gets crazy low bass. That part bothers me. But the rest is perfection.

    @meganmoore4697@meganmoore4697 Жыл бұрын
    • It would be good if it was pointed out that the trebelmakers have the same problem due to a lack of high notes! I'd love if the solution for either group was to bring on a trans singer who could hit the low or high notes the cis people in the group weren't able to. But it was 2012, they'd never have done that.

  • My biggest problem with the Pitch Perfect movies was how much time they spent on slapstick and lowest-denominator "jokes". I feel like if they hadn't written the movies like parodies they would have been so much more fun to watch. That said, I do still have a special place in my heart for the musical performances by all of the groups in all of the Pitch Perfect movies. And you should definitely watch Pitch Perfect 2, at least, because my favorite real acapella group (Pentatonix) has a cameo in the final concert mix.

    • I have always felt the same about the jokes.. Also, the beatboxer for Das Sound Machine used to be the beatboxer for the UW Madhatters acappella group... which made me more excited to watch it(being from Wisconsin) than seeing that the Green Bay Packers were in it.

      @danoops@danoops Жыл бұрын
    • @@danoops "Comedy" does not automatically mean "parody". Pitch Perfect is a parody of a coming-of-age/girl power acapella-themed movie the same way that Scary Movie is a parody of a horror movie. They could have easily written Pitch Perfect as a comedy without using the Scary Movie formula. Hell, they could have made it a straight up rom-com and it would have been more fun to watch. The constant innuendo, scatological "humor", and "jokes" that insulted everyone from blondes to lesbians were what made it unenjoyable. Every time it started to get a little bit good, suddenly SEX JOKE. That's just lazy writing.

    • I like the treblemakers performance better, but for the story there is a reason that that performance loses. It's a step down technically from their other performances you can tell they lost their lead, the dance is less intensive and the backing parts are more simple (plus they picked less 'cool' songs). Then the bellas expanded on their performances in multiple ways, actual new music, stepped up choreography and they kept their standard tight arrangements.

Fast forward to two years ago, I changed doctor and read through my documents as I was bringing them to my new doc and I stumbled upon a note. I had to get all my tonsils removed as a child and the note said, they slipped and cut in to my vocal chords quite a bit....I always wonder if my voice would be different (and no, no one told my parents or I that they had an accident whilst operating but my throat being sore for longer that it should and that speaking was a pain in the ass for quite a while was a side effect of the operation...)

Your pronounciation of the R's was great, but you were leaning toward New Zealander haha The way to avoid the New Zealand sound is the way you pronounce the first E in words like better. For new zealanders this E comes out like an I Eg. Better becomes bit-ah but the australians keep the eh, Beh-tah As a result new zealander accents sound a bit more compressed, whilst Australian accents sound wider Hope this helps!
