what a side of Arsenal. RvP, Cesc, Samir, Clichy, Eboue, Talented Walcott, Arshavin, and young Wilshere. Don't forget, Our Lord and Savior... Lord Bendtner
All we needed that year was a world class CB to play alongside Kosc and we would have won trophies. Maybe also another goalscoring forward. Arshavin and Walcott were hit and miss, great on their day (like this day against Barca) but also atrocious on others, RvP who was injured every other week was relied on solely for goals. Almost forgot Lord Bendtner, Legend!
There was only bendtner 🙏🙏🙏

Roberto Borghans spot on
They should make it an option to turn off commentators nowadays, or do they have it already? I'm a bit out of touch
True, but Martin Tyler was brilliant that night.

I would love to do that, most commentary is unnecessary anyway, and doesn't add anything to the game for me
I have always been a Barcelona fan but man on that day part of me became an Arsenal fan they played so well!! The only team in Europe willing to attack the best Barca team ever..
Fans chants are just amazing
Don’t forget Liverpool but Arsenal were a tad better
Oh Please. The Amount of times Chelsea played them, always took them on more than any other English clubs. Overall in both legs Arsenal always ended up losing.

Won’t ever forget this match. 10 years old at the time, remember watching every minute. Vividly remember the next day at school (must’ve been the 5th grade), the teacher asked us to write down and describe the best day of our lives in our notebooks. I wrote down “Arsenal 2 Barca 1.” Absolute limbs.
I was 21 at the time, studying in Prague, Czech Republic. I remember that night... having dinner with some friends while watching this match. It was also my best day in life to that moment
OMG that Barcelona lineup! Wenger deffo deserves some kind of medal for this match.

Arsenal without arsene is just out... Not beauty anymore.... C how they play nowadays... Damn not attractive....
The intelligence and awareness RVP has for the second goal is amazing. Notice the little pointing gesture he gives nasri to pick out the onrushing Arshavin instead, moves the defenders over by going late so more than one starts to move to pick him up and by the time they realise the real danger but it's too late. Love it. Miss going toe to toe with the best.
Even without the epic commentary, that Arshavin goal still gives me goosebumps 🔴
Even though I am a Chelsea fan, I LOVED THIS ARSENAL! They had so much passion that no other team in premier league had then.
I loved them too as they were no threat to Chelsea whatsoever. Hence why we beat them 6 zip on Wenger's 1000 game in charge.

I am not a fan of Arsenal but I will surely miss Arsene Wenger managing Arsenal. It's sad that in recent years Arsenal fans were harsh on him. Real fans of Arsenal knows how much he loves Arsenal. He made Arsenal what it is today. He made legends in Arsenal. Players like Henry and others respect him a lot.
As if it was even his fault... It's the board that messed everything up with the debts from the Emirates. Should have kept Highbury at least for a while.
💯💯💯💯
I pray to wenger until this day
Nah they were never harsh on him. The good performances don't make the bad performances go away
Herbert Chapman and George Graham made Arsenal. If you are a new Arsenal fan then clearly you know nothing.

Better than what we have now but far from our glory days. Have to go back to the early 2000's for that.
I wonder how this Arsenal team couldn't win many titles, it was full of young talents , great coach in Wenger
Injuries mostly
Small squad, because of debt an injury to one of the starting eleven meant playing someone of a really mediocre level. Also the team lacked character in the long run, like going ahead 4-0 against Newcastle and ending 4-4
This Barcelona side was arguably one of the best football team in the world at that moment. Fantastic football, Messi at his peak, Xavi and Iniesta at their peak, Guardiola's tiki taka football was still unplayable. I was so shocked Arsenal won, even if we lost on aggregate in the end.
Arguably? They were the best in history
They weren’t one of the best... they were the best club team in 2011
We might have drew in the away game if not for that Fucking reference who gave a red card to rvp for no good reason

In my opinion, if this team was not dismantled, it had the capacity to win every cup.
At that time it was already dismantled, half of the team were academy graduates and our biggest signing player was arshavin, its crazy how wenger could compete on the highest level with little to no budget. I have such much respect for wenger
@@joelargumedo94 I completely agree with you. But sometimes it was not necessary to lose players that were already natured in the system simply because they could not renegotiage wages on one end. It pains me a lot thinking about it, but I guess at the end its the players choices. I just wonder what it would take to have more interesting players and build up the team oncemore. Seems talent is not so easy to nature eg. Fabregas type of talent for example, VP etc.
