Partly the usual English media overrating of their stars which makes people respond by underrating the player, and partly the fact that he seemed like a bit of a mercenary douchebag which also has a tendency to make people reluctant to admit how good a player is. I speak from experience, because I underrated him for these two reasons, but I can't name a better English left back in my time of watching football.
@korganrocks3995 Жыл бұрын
What?? He’s literally in every PL best team of all time.
@Agent.K. Жыл бұрын
@@Agent.K. Yeah, because he was the best pure left-back, but I think Ravi means that he's rated too low compared to stars in other positions. Fullback is the most underrated position, and it's harder for people who didn't watch a player every week to fully grasp their greatness when the compilation videos of their goals and assists is a lot shorter than that of a striker or midfielder. I mean, there were a couple of seasons where after every United game my brother and I would say "so, who besides Evra was man of the match?", but if you searched for evidence of that consistent high level of performance now you'd basically have to find videos of entire games from the mid-2000's and watch them.

@@anthonymcken6050 Do yourself a favor and go watch a compilation of all of Haaland's goals if you think he's just a tap in merchant. First of all, he's huge AND lighting quick, so already your opinion is objectively wrong, since he's also a tank and a speed merchant. The main qualities for a pure striker are speed, size, movement, accuracy and technique, and that last one is the only area where he's lacking, and even then he routinely scores goals like the one against Dortmund last week that are pretty damn technically impressive. No one's claiming he's got Henry's touch, but he's a freakishly talented young player who may continue to improve for years to come. Yeah, that was Vieira in a nutshell. Tackle, win the ball and play it straight forward.
А как же Пирес?? 🤔
Henry said that too Viera was a fighter
Amen
yeah indeed. And he did it so many times and even more beautifully than this occasion , he often used to beat players with ease as well before finding terrific passes for attackers. Nowadays , all we see are destroyers in that positions and if they do great we call them world class immediately .. hardly you would see nowadays a CM/CDM who could dribble , drive forward, terrific with his passes, masters at winning headers and also do destorying job perfectly. Viera was more than complete and that's why he's the greatest ever midfielder to play in the Premier league and one of the greatest ever in the world in last 50 years.

Henry one of the best player of all time
9:05 great vision by Bergkamp, and then Henry checks that the linesmans flag is down so he can just celebrate after he inevitably scores.
I noticed that too. That takes some composure.
@@aaroningl I've never understood why you'd waste precious time and concentration looking at the linesman... just focus on scoring, then look over.
I remember seeing that goal against Sparta Prague as a young kid...at the first camera angle it seemed like a routine goal for Titi...but when I saw the alternate angle and saw how he bent the ball...my jaw just dropped
What a player!
my favourite striker of all time alongside Ronaldo the brazilian. Became a fan of arsenal because of him. I will never forget the great games against my team Panathinaikos!
Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho are by far my favorite living football legends, they are the reason I fell in love with football in the first place, they are part of my childhood... Henry should have won at least one or two ballon d'or in the 2003 and 2004 seasons, he was so unique and underrated back then, he was almost unstoppable and genuinely a very good all-rounder authentic player. ✌️
That barca front three of Henry, Eto and Messi was so impressive. Definitely one of the best front three in footballing history

Idk why people don't rate Ashley Cole as one of the greatest in history, he was sumptuous throughout his whole career. I know Henry was undoubtedly the greatest player in EPL history, but in that Arsenal side Cole was outstanding too!!!
He is considered arguably greatest left back England has produced. Was among best in the world during his playing days. May be younger generation don't know about him that much.
I'm just about over the chelsea thing now and he was without doubt the best left back the league had to offer for many years, at times best LB in europe.
What?? He’s literally in every PL best team of all time.
Final 2006 in Paris is so painful. Henry deserved to win that final, this red card for Lehman was a nightmare...And so sad that Henry never get "ballon d'or", in his prime he was the best player no doubt!!
No, he wasn't.
@@Al-ji4gd for 2 years in 2003 and 2004 he was by far the best, before that it is true that zidane was better and after that ronaldinho shadowed him. But in 2003 and 2004 he deserved both balon dors
@@angeldelmoral2420 Based on what? What did he win in 2003? Both Shevchenko and Nedved played far better in Europe and went far in the Champions League, not to mention they were in a much better league. Serie A was far better than the Prermier League at that time. I would even put Ronaldo and Zidane above Henry in 2003. Sheva and Ronaldinho would be above him in 2004.
Also Etoo goal was offside
@@Al-ji4gd delusional 😂😂😂😂, Thiery Henry was the best player on the planet, anybody that watched football during that period will 100% agree. Nedved was ok. Shevshenk & Nedved only got nominated for reaching the final. Thiery Henry was top goal scorer and top assists, and won the Invincibles Golden Premier League. Never ever done before.
As young as he was, he looked older, because he played with maturity
But Lewandowski always looking young
My god what a player my favourite player ever
On of the best players ever.
4:29 that’s why Vieira was the best midfielder in the league by a country mile for me at that time. Who else could do what he does there. Wins the ball back with a fantastic timed challenge and then straight away stands up and slides Henry through on goal. That means when he was on the floor sliding his head was already looking up for who to pass to. Out of this world.
At that time many players can tackle like that but after that tackle.. That pass💯🔥 passes like that made him unique.. Absolute beast🔥
@@Esakiokazaa7 that’s my point I can’t think of anyone at the time that could do that tackle and play a pass like that. Only other one I can think of in the past 20 years is Gerrard.
@@TheDiegoo17 yeah agree.. Gerrard is close I thought Diaby will be the next big thing then his injuries ruined his career

Because he never stepped up in big matches at the champions league
3:31 that header is insane look at that leap Makes me think of why Henry wasn’t a real aerial threat for his career. He had the size and clearly could leap.
He definitely should have tried to definitely develop that area of his game

And people are raving about Haaland. Haaland couldn't lace up this guy's boots.
I love Thierry but that comment is extremely unfair, Haaland is bearly 22 years old, he hasn't even reached anywhere near his peak yet.
@@PeaceDweller He's a tap in merchant. R9 was a monster at 22 and Henry had already won a world cup and was France's leading scorer. We might be seeing the best of Haaland this season. Big guys are injury prone and take a lot longer to recover. Once his pace goes he doesn't have much left.
@@anthonymcken6050 you're being a bit negative there, Ant' 😆. I reckon Haaland is set for a great career, I love his attitude.
I'm Swedish AND a Manchester United fan, so if even I can admit that a Norwegian City player is way more than a tap-in merchant, what's your excuse? :P
