  • Dimash is a thoughtful partner in any musical production--he sings as the song demands, not for his own ego. He never tries to outshine the others. I have seen Dimash stand with one foot in front of the other, generally in the very strongest part of the song. I get the sense he is drawing his music from the very core of his body, especially in those parts. And I love to watch his hand movement--he conducts himself as he sings.

  • This is a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that, at the age of 5, he had a VHS of a concert by Maestro Domingo. He dreamed from then to now to meet and work with the Maestro. This was part of a program called Virtuosos, which supports young classical artists. Dimash was invited to be a judge on the program by Maestro Domingo. I know he appreciated the opportunity to support young artists. We are all do proud of him and hope all his dreams come true. Dimash learned this in one day and had only one rehearsal.

  • Thank you for the lovely reaction. For those who may not be familiar with Dimash, I just wanted to clarify that answering "yes" to the question of how many octaves Dimash has was a joke made by the commenter. Dimash would never say that because it sounds boastful and Dimash is anything but boastful. He has said that he doesn't want people to focus on how many octaves he has or how hard he works, he just wants the audience to enjoy his performances.

  • Being 84 and having lived a life of collecting beauty, I never expected to find anything like the musician and instrument that are Dimash. There are so many lessons in there but mainly, that no matter how much beauty you’ve experienced, there is always more that youve not known that is beyond the imagination. There are no limits. I’m so grateful to be alive at the same time as Dimash. Would Western singers be jealous of Dimash's voice and talent? To answer your question. Yes. Dimash is one of the greatest singers of all time even though he's still in his prime. All these Western Vocalists, let me put it lightly, THEY STRAIN, Dimash is a master of technique, a Male Minnie Riperton. He has revived combing operatta with modern music, Dimash has a unique tone that I quite like, it is like Whitney Houston ;soft yet obtrusive, even though, unlike Whitney, he's of the lighter voca, fach he can still make his voice as booming and emotive as a dramatic soprano. In my opinion here's how it is. From a rich and sexy strohbass, to a lyrical tenor, to whistle piercing coloratura soprano notes. He's my male vocal icon. But for all those people who don't like him, he doesn't care, he loves singing, even if it's just for his country, but I used to be jealous too until I came to appreciate his voice. And also Dimash is wise and patient, it took him years to achieve the voice he has now, I have never heard a hint of strain in his voice. Is Dimash the best singer alive? The answer to this is very subjective. When you ask who the “best” singer is, what are you asking? the most skilled? the widest range? the best sounding? Dimash Kudaibergen is a highly skilled vocalist with his voice spanning about 6 octaves, he has great versatility in his singing ranging from traditional, pop, opera, ballads, etc. But the real answer is up to you! He is truly amazing!

  • You have given such an incredibly beautiful and humble reaction to this duet piece. I love especially your observation, putting it so lovingly - "passing the torch" - handing over as it were from one generation to the next. That is so very touching, I could for the way expressed yourself, "passing" your own knowledge and expertise...reflecting on Placido and Dimash's posture, hand gestures, complementing each every step of the way. Rightly said, it's in a sense a skill. You have in this single video reaction, gained my respect. Looking forward to listening to more of your reactions. ❤

  • 👉 The world stands still for this moment and everyone holds their breath. A singing teacher calls them the two musical titans...yes, yes, yes! This duet was Dimash's dream and it is coming true. What an honor for our beloved Dimash and a great joy for Maestro Domingo…. And I was bathed in tears of joy. I'm sooo happy. Dimash was asked to participate as a judge in the competition for young classical musicians... and then... he gave us dear ones this wonderful jewel. Maestro Domingo invited Dimash to sing the duet with him the day before. Dimash only had a short night to learn this song in French... and besides, Dimash had a cold with a cough. (You notice it more clearly in the second song at the end of the concert.) Dimash would never act recklessly towards his duet partners. With good manners and respect, he would never drown out Maestro Domingo (then still 82) with his voice. He even adapts to Maestro Domingo's vocal color. Dimash opens a new world to many Dears... the world of classical music. You should definitely watch the video (look at the end of the comment)... so many young, talented musicians and the sensitive assessment of the jurors... Great!!! ... and the legendary duet of Maestro Domingo and Dimash Qudaibergen! * Plácido Domingo (*1941 Madrid/Spain) is already a legend today. He is a world-renowned, versatile artist and is considered one of the best and most influential singers in opera history, with more than 150 roles and over 4,000 performances celebrated by audiences on stages around the world. He sings tenor and baritone and was one of the three tenors with Carreras and Pavarotti in the 90s. Maestro Domingo is also a conductor and promoter of young talent, winner of 12 Grammy Awards and recipient of honorary degrees and awards for his humanitarian work.
