In this episode of #TalkingTimepieces we take a close-up look and compare two #watches. Both claim to be a #Breitling #Navitimer #GMT, but only one is real. Although the fake #watch looks pretty good at a glance, the facade falls apart pretty quickly when you compare the two up close.
He spends the whole video talking about why fake watches are bad but the whole time im wondering where I can get one of those fakes.

If I remember correctly, Breitling also put an LCD subdial in their quartz models.

No watch is fake. So you're saying that the time is fake as well. A watch is designed to give the time. If the watch is giving the correct time it's not fake. all watches are made from the same material. Glass is glass, metal is metal, leather is leather. Just because the Breitling or Rolex company did not make them does not mean their fake. Some people are fools to spend money on a watch that is not worth anything. "A WATCH IS DESIGNED TO GIVE YOU THE TIME." Nothing more.
I mean it looks nice, it tells the time and it’s affordable…just because it’s not to the same build standard as the real deal, doesn’t make it garbage…you could argue that a breitling does not keep time as accurately as an atomic clock and it’s sole purpose is to tell the time so by that logic you could say the breitling is also garbage 🤷♂️ I’m not a watch guy, I do play guitar and have some very expensive models as well as affordable models. I have played expensive guitars that sound awful and cheap guitars that sound amazing. Base a product on what it is meant to do…not on how other products are made 👍

All true. He spent the entire video trying to discredit the replica watch and it does the exact same thing that the authentic watch does. A watch is designed to give you the time of day. No watch is ever going to give you the perfect time. watches are designed to give an approximate time.

Not to mention to compare movement quality is a sad joke. Do do you know what a free-sprung balance is? A coaxial escapement? Tolerances? Antimagnetism? Fakes are crap. Spotted the fake right away...the dodgy silver sub dials, and the ticking of the second hand are a dead giveaway!

Quartz is way more accurate than the outdated mechanical movements. Quartz is like having LED lights while mechanical is like using candles back in the middle ages. You should do an accuracy test in a future video
Or you could buy a Breitling quartz and not a fake

Fake watches are the best. I get to enjoy them and save a hole lot of money to spend on people I love. Don't want to get hooked on material objects.

@@TalkingTimepieces why though? if you have zero intent on any shady resale of it, then its just enjoying the same thing that usually only the rich can enjoy. personally im more a fan of the big Chinese brands just due to not being priced astronomically and still getting a high quality piece, but if they're not lying about it i dont know why some gatekeep so hard
@@plamshaw it's the fact that it is fake. There are so many great watches to get instead. A fake only proves the desire was for the brand, not the watch.
@@TalkingTimepieces this is true, that is a good point, but there are also better fakes as well (Rolex comes to mind) that use the same materials and such. (That being said imo Rolex is just for flexing and less so for the general watch enthusiasts)

This guy is trying his best to deter people from buying replica watches. The same people that make that authentic watches are the same people that makes the replica watches in China. Don't be fooled. A watch is a watch. It is designed to give you the time. Glass is glass. Sapphire is just another name of a particular type of glass. It's not worth anymore that regular glass. Leather is leather and metal is metal. Don't be fooled by these fast talking so called experts. I'll pay 400.00 for a watch that looks and gives the exact same time as a 5000.00 dollar watch.

Ziarex must be stopped at all costs. People are losing money since their mega clone watches started to be sold as originals on the aftermarket.
Hey I have the same watch (fake but good one). There's no point to throw it away when it's great and does job as a original one. No one will unscew my watch and judge me for a fake watch in my 20s. And I'm not pointing that it's original.

Not really. In the Navitimer the rehaut is used for the slide rule, no room. The real one does say "certified chronometer" on the back, but so does the fake. Functionality is the best indicator in complex watches, fakes can't copy the complication.

Yes, some fake are built with low quality, and it is the same for an authentic item or product. The only difference is that your watch may be made in Japan, and the other watches are made in China

About two and a half years ago I bought, by email, a Breitling replica Navitimer. I have compared it with pictures of genuine Navitimers. I haven't been able to see any difference. I understand you are probably paid by Breitling to say the things you say. however, the faults you point out don't really exist. None of that actually means a thing, This is what is actually meaningful, I have had this watch for two and a half years wearing it every day and except for Daylight Savings changes I have yet to adjust the time. I am aware that this is an anomaly. I wouldn't think less of an actual Breitling if some occasional adjustment was required. I realize that the watch must in time require a cleaning or something like that. The cost to get that done may very well exceed the actual cost of the watch. I am consoling myself in advance realizing that if I tried to replace it, even with an actual Breitling I would not get anything better or not as good. Sum, I am delighted with my fake.
Except that no matter how good it is, it is still a fake, or are only "good" fakes permissible? Tied to organized crime, they are also counterfeit products that not only are a rot in the industry, their profits fund criminality.

They are always an option. You can pay $10000.00 for a watch and I can pay $500.00 for the same replica watch and they both will give the exact same time and they both will look just as good. I bought a Rolex in Iraq in 2003, 20 years later my replica Rolex still works and still looks just as good as the real one. Replica watches are the way to go. Re-sale on some authentic watches are horrible. Watches are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them.
Thrash ziarex and their mega clone watches. They need to be stopped and destroyed because their watches are being sold as originals, making Rolex lose money.
That's just a 50$ fake, that you can buy on the beach. Compare a 500$ super clone and they're much closer

It's not that obvious. I thought that the brown watch was the authentic. A regular person would not be able to identify that it a fake watch. I looks just like the real watch. The brown watch has been worn a lot more than the blue watch and it's obvious. II would buy the Replica watch over the authentic watch. It's going to give you the same time as a authentic watch.

I can show you a fake Breitling Navitimer that looks as good as the original you are showing here and it has kept perfect time for the last 5 years. It is also a mechanical watch and not a quartz and it is about £6000 cheaper than an original. The secret is to get your fake Breitling or any other serviced as soon as you get it and it will last many many years.

@@TalkingTimepieces maybe so, but why would you spend £7000 on some snob watch when you can spend £300 and have it serviced for around £150 and that will work for many years before you have it serviced again. If worse comes to the worse you can just buy another. It makes sense I think.

@@TalkingTimepieces I don’t buy a watch like that because I am a snob but for the look of the watch. It’s a nice time piece but I would not invest £7000 on it. I have an omega seamaster and another Breitling navitimer, I get a lot more for my money than if I was to buy originals. Again it just makes sense to me because the originals for how ever nice they are, are just way overpriced and even the originals have their issues.

Buy a good watch that has its own name and reputation, simple as that. Wear what you want, but don't expect anyone to respect the decision to wear a fake. There are a lot of great watches that don't cost that much, buy them. Buying a fake is an admission that the earned reputation of the original has a real value.

What are you talking about here; the ticking second = quartz = fake. Don't worry about markings and such . All watches look nice from a distance, just like all women... You need to learn more about watches...
It's hard to see that kind of movement from a distance, but knowing the GMT doesn't use a subdial is a big tell. Ticking counts, though. I saw a big-ass fake quartz Rolex at the bar at JFK on my way home this weekend.

You defeat your own argument because you want a watch with that logo on it. There is something special about them. Their name. The reputation behind that name. The name Rolex is over a century old, as is Breitling, and their reputation and brand value was built with hard work, innovation, and a lot of money. A fake steals that identity. Buy an homage.

Why is the fake a piece of junk? One could certainly argue that it is immoral to buy such a watch. But the immorality does not make it "junk". That is a different thing entirely. You are mixing concepts that are clearly different one from the other.
It is also poorly made, not.just fake. Most fakes cut corners. The real watch is obviously of significantly higher quality
