Ever wondered how much you can make with a screen printing business? Artem Ionitsa makes $170K/month his screen printing company Logo Unlimited, and he shares how he started and grew his business in this interview.
This video is sponsored by Shopify, a leading name in eCommerce solutions. Find out more here: www.shopify.com/upflip
Artem started Logo Unlimited out of a desire to do corporate merchandising better. He wanted to take the industry beyond left-chest embroidery-and even beyond screen printing t-shirts. Today, they produce everything from custom apparel to promotional products like mugs, pens, and high-tech items like Bluetooth earbuds. In this interview, we’ll find out what kind of space and equipment it takes to give customers this variety (and what it cost Artem to get it all set up).
One thing that sets Logo Unlimited apart is the personal touch they give to their products. Everything is done in-house and driven by the needs of their customers, allowing them to offer both transparency and high quality. We’ll learn how this approach has helped Logo Unlimited grow and what systems Artem uses to ensure a consistently satisfying customer experience.
While all the printing is done in-house, the blank items Logo Unlimited customizes have to come from somewhere. We’ll find out how Artem picked his suppliers and hear his advice for securing reliable, high-quality suppliers as a screen printing business. He’ll also share strategies for the other side of the equation, like how he attracts both individual and corporate customers, and the best places to advertise to attract each.
A screen printing business can be a very profitable option for creative entrepreneurs, and this video is a great place to learn how to get started! You can find out more about Logo Unlimited online at logounltd.com/.

  • We 'fell' into this industry some years ago, starting with a Bernina sewing machine with an embroidery kit. We're still a part time home business with word of mouth marketing only, but we now have 2 commercial single head embroidery machines, 2 vinyl cutters, heat press machines and a solvent print and cut machine. And like the gentle man being interviewed, not much spare time! Great interview.

    • @@UpFlip It's one of those tricky things where my wife and I both work and given the crazy world we live in right now the risk to jump into this full time would be a little too much. A bit like grabbing a tiger by the tail, but it is something we discuss. As to marketing, the website would be the quickest and easiest upgrade. Word of mouth and the relying on quality output, personal service and getting the job done on time is the first part of the road to success. We often catch the 'second round' sale when a client realises the larger supplier is charging the same or more and often using inferior garments. Schools are a great source of sales, but beware organising committees, you have to keep them focused or it can be like herding cats into a cage!

I would say the hardest parts about this POD business are: - A decent website, in which we have been working for the past few months but its still in progress and you have to invest LOTS of money into this - Trusted source of blank apparel and goods to embroider/print on. - Will to continue. Sometimes it can be quite tiring and we do make a lot of mistakes, thus lots of unqualified goods can make you feel defeated.

I don't even have a website yet lol. However, I'm starting with Etsy/Shopify and moving on from there. This information was very valuable and I may even look to this business in the future; should I need more help with outsourcing, in order to focus more on growing the business and/ or family.
