It's kinda interesting how, prior to the combine, Walter had that listed projected 40 time of 4.47 and that 4-6 round estimation because of how fast he plays. But in spite of his great explosion and agility grades, along with a surprisingly good bench press, that 4.64 combine 40-time (4.56 Pro Day time) is likely what led to him going undrafted. When people scouts and teams were just using their eyes, he looked like a draft-worthy receiver to many people, but when that 40-time hit, all that tape speed they saw got thrown in the trash. Now he could wind up not doing much for the Lions, or in the NFL in general, but I feel like the pendulum is eventually going to swing the other way, and 40 times will be valued less than they are now. Out of the 7 All-Pro WRs last year, the only one that ran faster than a 4.49 40 time was Tyreek Hill. AJ Brown barely escaped a 4.5 with that 4.49 time. So as a fan of the Lions and consummate Amon-Ra St. Brown supporter, when I see a guy like Isaiah Williams that can create separation, cause missed tackles, etc., I see someone that could be a favorite of Ben Johnson and Tanner Engstrand for the Lions. The Lions also gave him 240,000 guaranteed so he’s going to make the team for sure. I’m excited to see what he can become for us. Fun fact Jameson Williams and Him have been friends since they were 5 years old so he will have a familiar face in the room to show him the ropes. I think he’s going into one of the best possible situations signing with the Lions after going undrafted. Wr3-6 is really wide open. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got some snaps and plays this year for us.
Not going to lie, that qb had some real nice throws too. I'm excited to see what this kid gets up to in camp and preseason. Could very well secure a wr5 spot in year 1.. Practice squad for sure. Who knows though, maybe one of the receivers from last years ps could make a jump. Wonder how Antoine Green has progressed this offseason too. Can't wait to see.

I think his 40 time is the reason why he didn’t get drafted. But my Lions signed him to 240,000 guarenteed as a UDFA, he’s definitely making the team. I’m excited to see what he can do in the future. Glad the Lions took this kid, Williams looks like he could study under Amon Ra or take the slot if he’s ready and let Ra take the X more this season. Like you said I would like to see his blocking ability but if Brad is willing to take a flyer on him then it had to have been seen at some point. No block no rock in the Den
