The SKETCHIEST Drag Strip in the United States?? (Wrecks EVERYWHERE!)
It's no secret that Brown County Dragway is one of, if not the sketchiest 1/8 mile tracks in the United States. The track surface is full of bumps, undulations, and even..grass. Yes your read that right - there is a strip of grass going down 3/4 of the drag strip in between the lanes. Seems like a recipe for disaster..and it is. These questionable track conditions are what attract racers and fans alike as it makes for one hell of an entertaining event.

When your wife says you can have a dragstrip in your backyard if you stick to the budget
Imagine a 6 second car on it. Noone in their right mind would. I hope. This thing is a nightmare.
LOL!
Mom I want a drag strip! No we have a drag strip at home. (The drag strip at home)
Is the budget for the drag strip... or for the car build ???
Look up Shadyside here in NC. For real built in back yard shut down goes up hill behind his house. It a fast track tho.
That's not a drag strip. That's a bowling lane
No, bowling alleys are flat! 🤣
You mean a motocross corse, it has whoop-t-doo's, the track is so rough.
Yeah it kind of looks short to me because I remember back in the 70s maybe the '60s Lions drag strip and Long Beach California it was really long I would think that it's a little scary not too safe if something happens no breaks and your shoot breaks I don't know they got balls that's for sure
😂😂😂😂😂
That is suicidal death bait.
For those who don't know, this track was bought in January 2022 from the looooong time (since the 08s) Fields family owners, so this was from the first season's racing under the new ownership. Thus some of the changes noted. Thanks to the past and new owners for keeping this historic facility alive while tracks all over the country are dying off.
AGREEEED!
That shit hole needs demolished.
The 'it's OK it's just a racecar' hit me in the feels, I can only imagine the $, the time, the blood sweat and tears combined with the hopes of all hard work coming together lost in an instant
It's terrible. Mines got rearended and it destroyed me. Had i wrecked myself, i would have taken it way easier, but to not have a single say in the outcome hurts the worse. Sent me into hard drinking and just now getting back into the swing of things 3 years later.
90% Garage 10% Track
@Karl with a K I used to work on a pit crew for a stock car, running 1/4mile, 1/2mile circuits. We were not wealthy. We lost money most years. It was fun, so we put everything we had into it. When a win comes, that is the tops, baby! But not all of 'em are richie riches. For sure. Some teams had the cash. But a lot of us were just full time mechanic garages, with a second full time hobby of racing.
It's all part of the game, can't handle the heat, get yo ass out the kitchen... Oh, and NEVER spend ALL your money building a car. Save 3 times what you spent on it for this exact type of shit.
Chef a real one he was genuinely happy that you guys came up to him in the pit
When Did He Get Into Culinary Arts, And Become A Chef? LOL
He chef’ed up a big plate of whoop ass.
I imagine the concept for this place came to fruition around a campfire and a bunch of beers. "Gary, you think you could borrow the county asphalt machines for a weekend? I got this crazy idea..." Love it!
Dogs & kids on the start line of the track (@ 13.54) ? now thats a old school family event track! love it
I love seeing the guy in the wheelchair still living life after a life changing incident. Keep winning dude.
We apologize for the delay on releasing this video, it was a coincidence we finished it just after the event that happened this weekend. This video was prioritized lower than most of our other videos because of all the rain delays and 30% of the expected racers turned up for it. This footage is not from last year like some people are assuming. Enjoy!
Why no drag week videos?
Drag week? Why you need that when you got this
This video has to be from last year because the gold s10 is no longer gold anymore. Lol
@@anthonyroberts3154 It's from the event this spring....not last year.
@@AmandasG8GT Yes,, we saw it on Billy's, Chief 'n Jackie's and Nikki Bobby's channels this spring.
The amount of bumps in that Strip, it's like a BMX track! 😂
Roller-coaster lite!
You ever been on a bmx track??? Didn't think so fatty...
@@murrijuana2842 Imagine how much of a moron you have to be to make an accusation against a person you have and will never see in your life. As long as you are 12, you still have hope.
I haven't done that many bumps since 1982.....
I was going for a motocross track .even has a triple jump.🤣
9:35 I gasped at the “four doors for more well, you know the rest” on the trunk lid because I was thinking of that EXACT phrase when “Charlie Brown” did it’s burnout haha! Makes me even more excited to finally work on and rebuild my great grandmother’s 1969 Chevelle Malibu sedan. That track looks crazy and fun! Great content as always, much love from Texas!
Thank you for posting the video because there is absolutely no way I would stand anywhere near that track in real life.
Incredible how many dumb people there are out there that would stand that close to the cars in the burnout area
Cool stuff man. To see a guy in a wheelchair and still be able to have fun, Shout out to his friends for helping him! those are friends 💪🏼
Life sucks when you end up in a wheelchair but doesn't end, Still alot of fun to be had no matter the age, He is lucky to have such good friends
That truck of his gets down and boogies on a track like that. Would love to see what it does with grip, but other then that I love how they help keep his dream alive. It's a wolf in sheep's skin right there, you wouldn't think it makes that much power but it do.
@@gotthiis is it tho those big ass tires, struts, and turbos up front don't come stock lool
I hope he can race again someday soon. I have seen cars modified for people in wheelchairs maybe his friends can make it happen.
I'm on a t/f team and I want to get the guy in the wheel chair and those two girls with 'alcohol tears' to come to a race. I want to see how they do with nitro lol
Chief seems like such a good dude. Great little interview, very humble.
Chief is stand up dude
He seems a lot happier now that he left all the TV shows behind. I'm happy for him.
I was sitting there thinking, that’s definitely a chief doppelgänger
He’s a lot happier now
Wish he would stop dying his beard lol.
I grew up at Alton Dragway in Alton, Illinois where The Greek went 204 mph in 1960. I was a spectator and racer at Alton from 1963 (13 years old) to 1972. It also had a grass median between the lanes and until I watched this video, I had never seen another track with a grass median. Thanks for posting.
🇬🇷🇬🇷👍💪😅
Love these videos, all the interactions you capture and interviews not just the racing. It all creates a story and involves the viewer in what's happening. Makes me feel like I'm there! As someone who doesn't normally like drag racing, your videos make me love drag racing!
This has to be one of the wildest tracks ive ever seen
SCAMMER^
15:20 CLASS ACT! I’m glad you went over to check on him and give him a hug. Hard old men never did realize the value of stuff like this, and it’s good to see people checking on drivers after scary wrecks!
This is what it's all about, small crazy ass track, and pure driving skills and tuning... Drag Racing in its purest form!🇺🇸
Sure, for 300 horsepower cars... Just about EVERY car on this track had WAY too much power to be on it. It's just silly to put a car on a surface that can't handle it. It's not "balls of steel", or anything to be proud of, it's just stupidity. But whatever, Darwin Award applicants will eventually remove themselves from the gene pool, and the sillyness will eventually cease.
I'm still here thinking how is this even a track
I love the little extra you guys include us in. The reactions of the crew on close call, manually reviewed races are perfect examples of this. I felt l was there. I appreciate the extra touches, amazing content! Thank you!
Thats the goal! Thank you for the praise :)
Like the response at 14:45, that had me laughing out loud
@@Tom-xn7zc Exactly! I guess...
Great video! Thank you. Been a long time since I drag raced (I'm 75 today!) Raced at Delta Park in Portland, OR.
That looks like the kind of outlaw track where the starter checks to make sure you tossed out your beer before you stage.
I was nine minutes in, wondering how the racers were given the 'GO' until I saw the "HEADLAMP" on the starter guys head, and chuckled. Gotta LOVE IT.
When ya got no tree, a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do... 🤷🏻
I came here for the same comment. It's so genius
Haha. I did the same thing. I watched for it multiple times, typed the comment in to ask, decided to check again before I pushed send and then finally noticed it turn red on his hat. Works easily and cheap I guess
Limpy is the light
Talk about nostalgia. I grew up about 10 miles from this track on the brown/johnson line, an you could hear the cars on wknds going all night, from our front porch. My only run there was in '97 on a '96 modified banshee, paul turner kit, and gradon pro/sudco 40mm pwk intake. Ran 108mph, starting in 2nd with barely enough time to powerband thru 6th before hitting the line. That was a 4 wheeler.. Incredibly short wavy 1/8th in powerful cars, hard to imagine. Thanks for memory fast-lane adventure!
Crashes galore... 14:20 16:41 24:01
This guy! saved me from wasting 50 min
Firm handshake sir
Hope this video doesn't get shadow banned too. You guys are doing a great job.
Whats that mean?
my comments are getting deleted or shadowbanned.. Just shows they dont like us in Silicon Valley.. They dont like the FJB stickers either..
@@JonHop1 some who like jb like drag racing
Why would it?
@@ebf1003 Probably a small minority since JB is literally trying to ban all petrol racing and cars.. But I dont care either way what peoples political leanings are, but its really a shame how biased YT and other Social Media sites are with any speech or ideas they disagree with.
So nice to see all the young folks so involved. Lots of great young minds visible here.
Thanks for the interview with Chief. Good to see him back at the tracks!
I watched chiefs video about his experience there and it’s great to see your guys video showing the whole event
Chief is a real one! Dude seems super humble! Great video guys!
I like seeing the import stuff and late model cars, but the no prep racing is very exciting to watch. Thank you for the excellent coverage!
That was really exciting. Sort of like Moto GP from the 80's. Super powerful two strokes with crazy riders and no traction control. Sliding and tank slapping all the way. This was a great event. Thanx for that great content.
This race was a long time ago. I was bummed out when uncle Sam wrecked. He was running in the lower 7's and over 200mph. Hope he rebuilds it.
He is rebuilding and he just got a new front end
Shes getting rebuilt 100%. It'll be back better than before!
Yeah like 4 months ago.
One of my favorite videos you guys have made in a long time, mainly because of the atmosphere. WOW!
Thank you very much for covering this event, great video, and interviews, all the best to yous and your loved ones
So much fun. Brings back memories of growing up at small drag straps in the 90s.
Crazy racing! Took me 7 minutes to finally find the go light. Though it must be on the pole beside the track but then I finally saw the light on the starters head! Was fun to watch. Thanks
Looked through the comments until I found the answer to my question. LOL
The mutual respect between Chief and Kyle was great to see.
34:08 shoutout matt for keeping her steady... close call 🤣
Found your channel yesterday and been loving the poop outta it all day! Thank you for the great content!

How the hell did you just now find 1320? They have been around forever. I guess it's better late than never..it's sweet that you just bought Kyle a coffee. Also if your new to 1320 go check out Cleetus McFarland he does a lot of content with 1320
Looks like a high end street race. Because, it seems to be an unprepared track surface. I love it!!
wtf are you talking about lol. You can see the surface prep.
@@fenderfan8543 Thats not prep thats just from all the rubber from the tires from so many races. They're also only using water for the burnouts that's a concrete track so the tires wear down on the track to the point it looks like an asphalt.
@@SouthJerseyBaitReviews um...no. Can you not see the black shit on the ground? That goes up the the edge and stops 12 inches away in a straight line down the track? lol. its been sprayed.
@@fenderfan8543 okay bro if u say so I know prep when I see it there is barely any gloss on the pavement and u can literally see these guys tires spinning half way down the track laying rubber down. An professional tracks literally take rubber tires and drag them on the surface to create the same look u see here.
@@fenderfan8543 naw thats definitely not prep lol
The Lawn Care Nut is calling these guys everyday in a fit of rage 🤣🤣
What a sketchy track. Justin makes it a bunch more fun to watch. Thanks!
Love it. I love how you take us to these grass roots (pardon the pun) tracks, bludy awesome!
Mom, can we have a dragstrip? We have a dragstrip at home! *The dragstrip at home*

What other KZhead channels cover this event?
@@taylorsease461 Try SRC Street Racing Channel
Gotta say let’s give credit to how safe drag cars really are. I’ve seen 200mph wrecks on this channel and they walked away from it with mainly bumps and bruises.
And there's been PLENTY who haven't walked away also, but the gruesome ones and the deaths just don't make it on KZhead as often

wildest tracks i've seen, like a backyard drag strip wkwkwk But is so cool
Carbon copy of New Bern/Bridgeton NC 1/8th mile with the narrow lanes and grass in between.... I started drag racing there in the early 1990s.... made passes from 9 sec down to mid 5 sec passes in bracket cars there and mid 5s was pretty sketchy back then. Randy Daniels initially held the track record with his Pro Stock Truck at like a 4.40 something and then Tommy The Beast Lee reset it with a 4.20 something in his nitrous Pro Mod and both were the scariest pass I've ever witnessed. Remember there were a couple of bad wrecks over the years.
Loving the rawness of this. The starter guy with a lamp on his cap 😂. One question, can anyone explain how they stage fairly, is there a line judge at the side ?
Just finished the 6 video and had to watch this, caught the thumbnail. Man I love this track. Man great to see big Chief & Jackie, he went straight down 1$t pass
It’s a beautiful place to have a drag strip. More people should build em like this. Don’t really need to much land for the strip more for parking lol but so many cool places you could stick em
Who gives a SHIT how beautiful the land is... It's how beautiful the track is, is what counts.
