The big hype upon Victor's NBA arrival, he's good but he first have to win some games. Its not what they had expected, the NBA players are tougher than Victor had expected. In fact, he only won 3 games out of 19.
Actually Mavs have a guy who potentially can block Wemby: Dereck Lively who is 7'1 with 7'8 wingspan.
He can't jump as high, and Wemby still has 3 inches in height and 4" in reach on him. Good luck!

Wemby may or may not be a legend when all is said and done. At his height, he will always be susceptible to lower body injuries. Players like Ralph Sampson, Yao Ming, Muresan, Smits and Porzingus are all examples of 7’ 3” or taller players that were plagued with injuries throughout their careers or who’s careers were simply cut short.

Never say never but Wemby has routines designed to help him avoid injuries. I'm sure they have seen those that came before him and are doing their best to stave those off.
I mean if you just visually look at players that are over 7 foot, their bodies look frail and out-of-proportion - and I'm talking about pro athletes that do their best to stay in great shape and maintain muscle mass. If any player at Wemby's height somehow managed to avoid injury and play at a high level for 10+ years it would be a miracle and they would definitely become a hall-of-famer.

Luka came nba ready from the first game he played..wemby definitely has the higher ceiling probably the highest ever in the history of the game..But that will take a few years i guess.. when luka entered the league he was already on par with most of the stars..Most importantly luka is clutch and has that killer mentality..The series vs suns will be a legendary story to tell for years to come
Nobody knew what Luka will be, let us be real. He was skinny and "slow" and we had no idea he will make history from day one. I think actually that Luka has higher potential because he will keep the ball most of the time and he has that Jordanesque charisma in the big moment. I mean look at his play off numbers. Let me tell you one thing, and you have heard it here first. Once Luka gets to an actual team with an actual cast, it is OVER for the rest of the NBA. About 2:48 you can affect the shot even with high disparity like that, there are two ways where you defend the shot. 1. Defend the Ball, block him or force him to use an higher arc. Yes this is very difficult 2. Defend the sight, while trying 1, which makes shooting more difficult ... With this high difference, the hand in the face might be even a natural basketball movement, and no reason for a whistle ;) Maybe you can add also a third point to the list, which doesnt count for this shot, be close to him, make him worry about getting the ball up get a save landing (please no lambeer foot, but at least i am thinking in such situation where can i land which makes it harder compared to an open shot) etc.

Did you just call a screen and baseline relocation "Steph Curry-esque"?? My god, how starved are you for set plays in the NBA? that stuff is the most basic type of play in "international" basketball. I don't know if I would call Wemby a pure competitor. He had a choice to compete at a higher level in europe, but he choose a lesser league to be in a team focused on him as the best player, when in higher competition he would have had to fight for minutes. He keeps saying in interviews that he wants to be "different", kind of a weird mindset instead on focusing on first being great at basketball.

No one has seen anything like this kid. He has it all. Point guard speed, agility and control, wing's 3 point game on steroids, and I'd say the greatest center in the game but that's not enough.
