I still wish Apple made an iPad mini Pro. I'd love to have the 3D scanner on the back of it and a 120Hz display. Although I use it often, my iPad Pro doesn't replace my MacBook and I'd love a smaller form factor with pro features to carry around as a secondary device.

I love my iPad Pro but to have a mini one would just be so ideal. Especially when I’m out and about
I'd love an iPad mini with a M series chip. Small tablet that you can throw into almost any bag that could hook up to a monitor etc and use stage manager - yes please.
Apple sells lots of iPads, they just happen to have a long lifespan, so people don’t tend to upgrade them often. The average iPad consumer just buys an iPad when their old one dies or gets damaged, and they get the iPad Air if they are gonna use it, or an iPad if a child is gonna use it. If they’re a student or an artist they might spring for a Pro version. No typical user is waiting to upgrade their iPad for more ram or a faster processor. iPad does not need to be “saved” by any sense of the word through some massive design change or feature upgrade. Thats also why even the ancient iPad Pro from 2017 is still supported with iPadOS17, even though the iPhone X from later that same year is no longer supported in iOS17. iPads are great and they last forever. Anyone who owns one will get a new one when their old one explodes.

What we need is an iPad mini “Pro” with an OLED and 120hz display plus an actual iPad OS not a scaled up iphone OS. That would be the best iPad device Apple comes out with.

The iPad Pro redesign won't help them increase iPad sales; Mini Led was the biggest jump by far, and Mini Led to Oled isn't a large jump. If they want to increase sales or make a significant difference that'll interest people, they need to increase the battery life, add more ports, and increase the base stage and RAM. Lastly, the cameras and M3 chip don't matter in the slightest, there's a reason iPad sales keep diminishing.
Except mini-led is only available on the largest version ipad pro. Every other ipad receiving OLED in the future is coming straight from LCD, which is a big jump, no matter how you slice it.
@@garretwang1031 I'm going by his words, he flat-out said it was even a big jump from mini LED. Also, they're not doing OLED for the other iPads anytime soon, so only the pros. So realistically speaking the only iPad getting a solid upgrade is the 11' if they finally decide to upgrade its display.

I’ve had a 2018 12.9 inch iPad Pro since 2018. I’ve seen 0 reason to upgrade, especially with how limited iPad OS has been. It still runs everything perfectly fine and feels super snappy and smooth.

Love my 2018 iPad Pro. This thing is still a beast and I definitely don’t feel like I need faster one. But if the new one has OLED, that’s reason enough for me. It’s all personal preference though.

Gotta hype up the mini and give it love. Imagine ipad pro capabilities in this form factor. Shoot, it even fits in some of my apparel pockets! MUST have upgrade!
I love my iPad mini 6 for my portable content consuming and drawing device, instead of my 27" iMac, or my iPhone 13 mini. I can use it to read when in bed or on the go, and I can use it for sketching. I look forward to using it for Journalling. My biggest problem is cost vs. potential breakage. If Apple could keep the quality but reduce the price point to $200, I think they'd uncover a massive sleeper market with tremendous profit potential based on higher volume.
I had an iPad Air 5 for almost a year now for college classes and digital art and I'm in love with it for its faster GPU.

Really wish we could get a iPad mini Pro with the OLED and 120hz maybe A17 Pro - I use my iPad mini a lot on the sofa when I want a bigger screen than my 14 PM but smaller than my M2 Pro MacBook Pro 16 it’s been the perfect middle ground. But the screen is lacking and it’s very noticeable given both the other devices are 120hz. I guess I’d have to go up one level and get a 11” iPad Pro.
I’ve had the 12.9” M2 iPad Pro for a year now and have yet to see any blooming.
I am very excited for these changes. And I hope they reposition the camera be landscape like the surface pro tablet and the cheaper iPad models. I use my iPad Pro 12.9 everyday since 2018 and have been waiting prolly like so many others for a legitimate upgrade, not refresh, just upgrade. ❤
We don't necessary need OLED display because the burn would look obnoxious in that big screen. P3 display actually helps colour graders and video editors. We don't need an M3 either for casual people. Imo they already have mastered the tablet industry but what they need to work on is bringing touch based mac apps to iPads.
Facts oled not such cool tech microled should be better or some other alternative tech in future

I always figured they were using the ipad on shoots for the reference mod the display can do? I'm not super into hardware or camera specs, but I always figured it made for a good fairly portable reference monitor that also had other computing abilities handy.
I bought the iPhone 6s+ and an IPad Air 2 in the same year. Finally upgraded the phone to a 15PM and I’ve been waiting for a nice upgrade to the screens on the iPad before getting one considering all I do is watch videos on it
I’ll keep the pencil 2 over 3 bc I prefer the matte feeling in my hand.

Honestly, as long as the non pro ipads have 60hz display and the pro keeps getting more expensive, I'm not interested at all. I'm keeping my 3 year-old ipad pro.
if Apple goes to the A18 to the iPhone 16 Pro, I think the next generation base model iPad and iPad mini will be in the same event like it did in 2021. so that hopefully gives the iPad mini the A17 which is crazy for that device. also, a design and screen update for the new iPad pros I dont think does enough to please pro users. and the 12.9 inch Air would be an amazing sweet spot for most I think
But pricing for that updated ipad aur will be more

I used my iPad Air 1st generation as my camera for both my trips to Austria . Was perfect, iPad as camera gives you the biggest viewfinder available!😂
Last Tuesday that I bought an iPad 9 generation in space grey at Target. I really liked the color and even the feeling of it. I got it at $249 which it was on sale. I saved $80.00 from it. I have been playing games on it so far.

I love the 11” iPad Pro, i would love the new one to have the same great display as the 12.9/13”, and would love much better speakers with some dang bass. On the Magic keyboard i want a funtion row dangit!!! And i heard they where going to change the apple logo orientation be like the macs, i hope they do that.
Hoping for a landscape orientated camera. Feel like it’s long due now, FaceTime looks so off with its current orientation.

I agree. Drawing on the iPad will definitely continue. I’m working on an iPad 6 generation and desperate to move to a new iPad Pro. I did look at the Mac air but don’t want or need to carry around a keyboard. I just need my iPad and my pencil for everything.
I looked it up, currently a fully maxed out iPad Pro is $2,399 with WiFi+Cellular. I can tell you from the perspective of having a M1 MacBook Air and a 9th Gen iPad, that is a better setup than my family's half-maxed out iPad Pro from 2018 or 2019. I would love to upgrade my iPad at something for my drawing activities but there hasn't been anything super iPad-exclusive that isn't on the Mac that justifies MacBook money for just the tablet. That $2,399 I said earlier is without the keyboard and pencil, which is another few hundred dollars. For almost $3,000, you can get a MacBook Pro that will last you for many years on the software side, or a tablet with keyboard and the pencil. I suggest a M1 MacBook Air and a 9th Gen iPad, I had that iPad for a few years now and I can tell you it basically does most what an iPad Pro can do at much cheaper costs. I suppose when we get a huge software overall, I'll be excited and that's a shame because I love making art but I have almost zero use case for my iPad now that I got a MacBook. Most of my music production has been moved to my MacBook.

I think they will continue the iPad line, they only seem to abandon home IoT products with any consistency. Heck iPod touch lived 8 years beyond a reasonable EOL time. I’d love landscape cameras on the new iPads. Worth the upgrade for me if they do that.
I still haven’t gotten a new iPad for years. My iPad is from right before the m1 version, and I cannot see a reason to upgrade. The oooonly reason I kinda wanted to is because of davinci resolve. But nothing else about the iPad is interesting or worth upgrading for.
I use my iPad Pro way more than my MacBook but don’t have a need to upgrade, the M1 and promotion display is fine for me. I would like a mini because it’s the perfect size for reading ebooks but that 64gb storage for the base model is unacceptable. If they bumped the base to 128gb and rounded the edges I would love one. I don’t know why sales are so low, I use my iPad way more than my iPhone or MacBook.
The Retina display iPad was, hands down, the most significant leap in iPad screen tech.. but OLED would be very nice. I just want an iPad Pro Mini that pairs with my Apple Watch…! ⏳😒

10:07 iPad pros are awesome . I use mine with my Mac mini as the main display screen sharing with VNC. Apple needs to make this native out box built in support for users like myself who use the iPad Pro with the headless keyboard less mouse less Mac mini.
Better yet make a headless MacBook Air keyboard that uses the iPad a monitor. When you remove the iPad it reverts to iPad OS. When you connect to headless Mac keyboard thing it goes to MAC OS. How cool would that be

I was able to get my 6th gen iPad Pro from a Best Buy open item for $850. It’s only 128gb but is a major step up from my iPad Pro that only had 32gb.
I never shot video on a iPad but I shoot my videos on my iPhone, and would love for them to update the camera on the iPad so I can get another angle for my KZhead videos.

I actually don’t want OLED screen on an iPad Pro, due to burn in, unlike my phones I keep my tablet for long time apfrom Gen 1 to Gen 5. Mini LED for the win for iPad.

No matter how much power they put into these, they are still tablets with a Phone OS - including apps that cant fully use the potential of the M1 / 2 or 3 chips aside from maybe video editing and some CAD software. At this point I have no idea who the target group of the Ipad Pro would be, except Apple fanboys with like 2000$ free to spend and/or maybe video-editors (who still need a calibrated screen for color corrections - another thing the ipad does not do well) I will think about buying one the day the Ipad really replaces the Macbook, also with a full mac OS on it you can use as the heart of your workflow and take it with you as well.

I still tend to use my 2015 ipad pro way more than my M1 ipad pro due to the lack of headphone jack. I'm a musician so that's important for me, and adding a bunch of dongles and hubs just defeats the point of using an ipad over a macbook; portability. It's nice that they added Logic to the ipad but its pretty much unusable without a headphone jack.

The last thing I want is OLED. People seem to forget about the longevity & screen burn-in of OLED. Use MiniLED. Those screens are amazing in the new MacBook Pros. What's wrong with with MiniLED?
Maybe they can’t get miniLED to the 11” so they use that instead. Perhaps that would still be available in the 13”
The problem is that people tend to use iPads forever and not upgrade them. With screen burn-in people might finally have the reason to continuously upgrade iPads
Exactly right. Also, brightness becomes an issue. I wouldn’t want oled in anything but the darkest of rooms
I heard miniled kinda worse than ips. Oled as well can’t say really cool tech which will justify this madness price for pro models

I’m still on the original iPad Pro from 2015!
I have that iPad Pro and the M1 iPad Pro. I use my M1 iPad for painting and art commissions and my 2015 iPad for social media and consumption. My 2015 iPad’s battery is shot tho and only last about two or so hours off the charger so it mostly stays plugged in now.
I’m amazed there was no mention of the possibility of any of the iPads including WiFi 7. There’s always “excitement” around how crazy fast processors are in Macs and iPads, but rarely a deep dive on what’s going to connect them to the crazy fast servers like at AWS, Azure and Google. That WiFi connection, depending on the app can be more impactful than the processor.
Absolutely right in this day and age: Connectivity is one of the most critical factors. But then these videos always ignore iPadOS software limitations: Same hardware as Macbook afterall.

@@BlaqViper If you use Remote Desktop to by-pass iPadOS limitation then Connection quality and speed becomes much more important than the CPU for example!

As long as it’s still running the same IOS then it can’t do anymore than the phone and will always do less than the MacBook. That’s the real reason sales have peaked

Newer iPad pros will be available in matte-black color. That's what the change will be along with M3. 13 inches is accidental upgrade because of reduced bezels. Current ipad pros are already more powerful than their iPadOS can take advantage of.
Apple will change the size of the iPad because the screen connectors have been pretty much the same on the latest iPad like you can take the screen from the m1 iPad Pro 12.9 and put it on the 12.9 iPad Pro m2 and it will work fine so a lot of people will choose the cheapest way so they will just upgrade the screen I think that’s why they are changing the size and also maybe because of the huge Samsung tablet

They need to increase the refresh rate, definitely the sdr and hdr brightness and be able to maintain it for longer aswell better battery and discount the storage or they can continue to get burned by samsung

Still happy with a 2019 iPad Pro and a mini - doubt I’ll upgrade until the software / OS changes significantly - you still can’t actually do a lot of really basic things with an iPad despite the incredible hardware. It’s really designed to be one of a suite of apple products you own, so not worth paying huge $ for imo

If they want to increase iPad sales, the best option is MacOS. For a lot of use cases, like my own, having MacOS on an iPad that can also have sim/cellular support would make me go all in. I wouldn’t even need my MacBook Pro anymore.
