Hello mate yes I know all the old textures I started in 1.9 I miss till today the old textures. Structures like villages and no swimming fast.

It’s crazy how old minecraft is. It’s the heart of my childhood. I still have worlds from 2015 on my xbox 360!
I just got a copy for the 360 and I’m hoping that In like 5 years I can look back on my worlds
sadly when i updated my ps4 mc to bedrock 3-2 years ago i lost HALF of my worlds.... so i only have those update test worlds from like 2020 2019 etc... i remember building a city and i never got to complete it

Beta 1.8 was definitely the most memorable for me. It changed so many things about the game for the better. Definitely set the precedent for what Minecraft is today!

The old nether rack was Cinda bland so agree
for worse actually,nether is essentially hell it is supposed to be unconfortable netherrack texture nowadays is just cobblestone painted red. old netherrack texture had blood and bones in it,it made the nether to be uncomfortable.

As a beta player pre-1.8, seeing the old versions of the game brings me so much nostalgia. Life was simple back then. Mine, craft, build, enter the nether. No end, no endermen, zombies dropped feathers when killed, no hunger bar or experience. It was just you (possibly friends) and the world.
Now you have people threatening to burn down Mojang hq if they don't add 50 mobs and a new dimension every other month. They forget their roots.

These videos are awesome retrospectives on the history of Minecraft. It perfectly encapsulates how far Minecraft has come. I remember playing before iron golems were in the game, and most “mountains” barely went above Y level 90 😂

I personally don't feel like the updates has been underwhelming - looking historically they've added more blocks than ever in the last couple of updates. And more to explore - there's just a lot further between each update, which may give that feeling.
Personally, I am a 1.13 guy. Seeing the bland oceans suddenly flourishing with life as I booted up my ps3 was honestly crazy for 7 year old me.

Oh lord i feel ancient reading some of these comments 😂 I discovered the game back around alpha 1.1.. back then me and my best friend would have sleepovers and take turns playing huddled around a shitty laptop.. the hype when the nether update came out was insane. Probably because of this nostalgia, alpha 1.2.0 is still my favourite version. It didn't matter that there was only 1 or 2 sources of food, any of the QOL stuff like sprinting and shift-clicking items didn't matter... Just exploring the funky world generation and building shitty castles was so insanely fun. Modern minecraft is a great game, but no other version will ever be able to trump those memories for me. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, nice video!

Personally, I love the old cobblestone texture, it's beautiful and feel like old, very pixel and 2D games (which I never played but saw some references and even watched the old sirenman game)
This year is my 10th year of playing Minecraft it’s actually crazy how much it’s changed from when I first started I still remember the old dying Steve noise and not being able to sprint

The horse update was most memorable for me ! I hadn't played in a while and this update got me back into Minecraft!!
My most memorable update was when they added slime blocks and people were doing “missile wars” It was such an innovation that made me interested in the game. Thank you for this very interesting video, I like the long form and thorough gameplay and commentary, high effort deserves respect. I subbed

You should’ve used the BetaCraft launcher for the older versions, that launcher fixes many things such as no sounds/skins in the older versions, and it contains many more Alpha versions then the official launcher.

1.5.2 is the update I started on and is still my favorite to this day.

My Minecraft hasn’t been updated in years, so I mostl play old Minecraft. I like the simplicity of it, when I play the newest Minecraft I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to be doing

I played the older textures with my friends on a multiplayer world for a horror theme and it was really nostalgic and terrifying at the same time.
I have a vivid memory of me hopping on my computer as a kid and getting super excited over the 1.8 update. I really want to go back to this version and experience it again.

Finally watching this masterpiece. I think it's a bit difficult to pick just 1 update as the best. I started playing with 1.7 The Update that Changed the World, so it will always hold a special place in my memory. In terms of changes to game depth, I feel that update was the turning point for updates having a stronger impact on gameplay, and set the stage in a way for future updates to be bigger and bolder.

I'm 14 and have been playing Minecraft for 8 years and even though I'm just old enough to feel nostalgia towards the OG textures I think I still prefer the newer ones, at least netherrack doesn't look like bloody meat anymore lol Also favorite update is 1.12 I think, mostly because it's the first one I really remember being actually excited for

Most nostalgic version for me is 1.11, because its the first time i discovered minecraft :3 i remember watching smp's, damn i miss those times
I've been playing minecraft for at least 8 years, maybe even 9. I personally prefer the old textures and use a texture pack to use those textures in the new versions.
I loved the aquatic update because I love sea turtles in real life, and have never seen the beach but dream of it constantly, so getting all this beautiful ocean life just a click away is enjoyable. fun fact, it's also the final update the Nintendo DS editions received!

I'd like to give you a tip if you ever do this again - Use Betacraft, it archives up to release 1.5.2 and has a treasure trove of versions not in the launcher. And coal, iron, diamond and gold have always been in the game, have been since classic for 3 of them and indev for diamonds, they were just a signifigantly higher pain in the ass to find in Infdev

There actually was ore in InDev, but they were just harder to find and fewer varieties to choose from.
1.16 was the first version i had played when i finally bought Minecraft for myself, before that use to play it in high school around 2013ish it was so cool playing again with sooo many new features lol

This game is so important to me, the nostalgia from the old textures makes me feel like a little kid again. I love the old textures, but I'm so glad we got the texture update. The nether needed it
yeah, the only good thing about 1.9 was the end update. the combat part was meh. use to it now, but PVP is still best in 1.7 or 1.8

so fun fact the trees in your old chunks do that because when they added leaf variants a bug occurred where the decay values interfered with the values of leaf types due to how block ids were added the leaves decay values caused that multiple leaf varieties, if you had used shears on leaves or made slabs in alpha 1.2 or before. they would have the missing texture because if the block id change for wooden slabs and leaves. hope this helps

I agree with you regarding the textures. I like that pixely look to the blocks. The new textures are well made, but personally, I’m not a fan of how smooth and non-indie game they feel

8:20 armor pre beta 1.8 all had the exact same protection, just different durability, so if you had an undamaged full set of any armor it would always fill the bar up and the more it got damaged the more the bar would decrease
Personally i think 1.10 was the best i have so much nostalgia from playing on my Xbox 360 sadly it broke i have lost 200 plus hours of progress
i love how while man is farming and saying he needs to go mining and stuff, the skeleto accidentally shoots the creeper and the creeper just explodes the skeleton, saving bro from 2 causes of minecraft death while he was just grabbing wheat
1:13:40 could have just bridged out to the islands, honestly might have been quicker in this case

old diamonds are the best OG texture, i miss them loads... The blue on them was the BEST colour ive ever seen :')
For me the most memorable update is the nether update, even i started playing on version 1.5. THE NETHER update chance the game for de best in my opinion. When the End update arrives we will have another epic update.
