We wanted points improvement, attacking football, entertainment, so we achieved all 3 imo. Set pieces, and all that shit can wait until next year. He’s always been better the 2nd year wherever he’s went

Ange deserves it far too slack for me, you cannot get away with it in this league, it would not suprise me if they did NOT look at defending corners during 2 weeks prep - not good enough !

No they haven't... We went 18 games of the season without conceding from a corner and were getting no end of praise for it 🤷♂️ Everton on match week 23 was the first time Vicario got targeted in a big way and then a few teams followed suit. This issue has only been under serious scrutiny for 10 games really, it just feels a lot longer.

Arguably 3 penalties and only gave 1 after VAR stepped in. Brennan gets fouled, nothing. 10 seconds later kulu picks up a yellow for a similarly timed challenge. Time and time again.
Ref is a Newcastle supporter and hates Spurs. The foul occur right in front of him, check the replay. VAR asked him to check the monitor. He’s a fraud. Will never give any penalty to Spurs

@vandammejam I'm not blaming the ref, just pointing out some key decisions that could have swung the game completely. People getting this angry in a rebuild season are crazy. We were shite, forms been that way for months. We got no teeth at all. I'm not disputing the performance. This season was always gunna be relatively weak. Clawing back 2 goals and going for a the equaliser shown the spirit that was lacking first half. At least that's something.
even the PEN M.OLIVER (the ref ) did not want us to have it . the SPURS keeper needs to be stronger from corners & take the ball & anyone who gets in his way.

It feels like a lot of fans just don't give managers/head coaches a chance now. It's not good for anyone being so reactionary as the club just ends up paying out for the manager anyway whilst also paying for a replacement & players are constantly having to adapt to entire new tactics & philosophies.
I think most people are children on here. I hope that's the case anyway.

The corner came about by trying to be too clever playing it out from the back when oppos were in our faces. Even Man C lose goals doing this.

Hes a MickeyMouse competition coach, thats all hes won...Japan is 2nd tier, the rest 3rd 4th 5th...It hasn't taken long for the tactics of the opposition teams to adjust to plan A ball, knowing it wont change during the game.
Our set piece coach is a scrub and needs to be fired immediately!

I mean, we know Arsenal is really good at corners. We also know that we re extremely bad at defending corners. Why not put Van de Ven in place of Ben Davies and bring Dragusin as CB, that way we have better aerial defense. How about training Vicario on how to deal with players harassing him in corners as well. We definitely lost on set pieces, 2 weeks and 0 strategy on how to prevent something so obvious.
We have no mid week games and still flopped

For a club that doesn't have European games or cup games with so much time to prepare, it's simply not good enough. Also I disagree that we controlled most of the game, maybe we define "control" differently, just passing it in the middle or at the back is easy. It's what happens later that matters the most and in offensive phases we go out wide and labor, players have nowhere to go coz the attack is dead so they pass back time and time again.
Arsenal controlled the scoreboard,99% possession means SFA if ya cant put it in the net....Form is played 2, zero points...2 for 7 against with around 70% possession, certainly controlled both games..lol
How can you not see that corners are a problem? We concede from corners nearly every match!
"If", the hell are you talking about, do you even watch the games? Set pieces are half the game, if you're good at them, you might win games that overall you're not good at.
There is always a player trying to interfere with the goal keeper during set pieces like a lot of modern football teams do these days and yet we've done NOTHING about it. The ENTIRE LEAGUE figured us out MONTHS ago and we've made no adjustments whatsoever. It is BLASPHEMOUS to plug in Ben Davies and expect him to play the same role as Udogie. We don't have a single midfielder who can possess the ball in tight spaces and make creative passes through the middle nor do we have a crack on either side of the pitch who can take their man one on one consistently although Johnson looked threatening at times today. Teams are happy to sit back and give up possession in their own half knowing that we aren't threatening when they do so and we are vulnerable in counter attack. MAKE ADJUSTMENTS FOR GOD'S SAKE ANGE.
Pull your finger out ange, we have weeks between games but show NO improvement on our weakness what are we doing with that time ?, our keeper needs to man up and get used being harrassed, they know your weakness - what you gonna do about it ? Not impressed Ange !
Ange postecoglou is out of he's depth Tottenham is to big for him and I think after today's proformance Daniel Levy probably seen enough I'll make he's decision during the holiday break he might give him another chance thank God for city all they have to do is win all their remaining games spurs fans can say the nightmares over we're all northern boys and girls ain't we 😂😂

It's not rocket science put a man on each post and attack the ball. WE need a CB to take command of the defense, at the moment at defending corners it's like "um um um what do we do oh to late they've scored ". Also teach the defense the rule of offside. Davis has been at fault too many times at playing to deep and playing opposing team on side which again he done with Saka's goal.

In our first game against aston villa I saw John McGinn constantly backing Vicario into the goal. I thought, what’s going on here?? Amazed it took so long for us to finally put a body to protect our goalkeeper, and then we make the same error this game!! Don’t think it is a matter of putting all our time and effort on defensive set pieces but surely getting a set piece coach can’t be that difficult.
Isn't King Ledley still knocking around in the background somewhere? I don't care if he has his coaching badges or not, give King the keys to the defensive coaches room ASAP!

Ben White interfered with Vicario for both set pieces without the ball. Those are clear fouls and should not be allowed.
But in the real world they ARE being allowed and they need to put our own man in front of the keeper they need to sort this out, EVERY team will do this and frankly Vic looks too timid and should be shoving the player to let the REF know what is happening - get more aggresive keeper !!

Apparently we can control most games but we can't control losing them. Every team now knows Spurs weaknesses are the high line, set piece defending and a goal keeper who doesn't like being physical and prefers to punch rather than catch the ball. In his defence the fans wanted attacking football no matter the risks.
Regardless all teams need to defend corner kicks. Ball gets drilled to the corner of the six yard box, just have your tallest cb in that position. Arsenal players position themselves on the blind side back post, them make the run to the front post.
We can't defend set pieces for life and other area to improve is when getting pressed like how Newcastle and Fulham exploited our inverted fullbacks with very high and intense press..

Vicario needs a weights training program in the off season to not be an easy push/block at corners. And Ragusin needs to play to help defend Vicario with the corners.
He's gone the other extreme of Conte and Mourinho, there is another manager out there that will have the perfect balance if we can find him. Still, it's best to give him another half a season as the team look exciting going forward. Feel sad to see Sonny not delivering leadership in these crucial games, he seems to have been drained emotionally by the Asian cup. Cuti showing real captain quality.

set pieces are not the problem. playing out the back and putting pressure in our own half and then putting it out for corners anyway is the problem. just boot it long ffs, we dont have the players to play out the back for every attacking phase of play

Arsenal scored from 1 in 3 of their corners today and it cost us the game. Really disappointing considering how long this issue has been going on for.
Have to disagree with Ange here. Of course it's not the main thing that will bridge the gap with the top teams but at the same time when it is clearly an issue, has been going for all season and is costing you goals, you have to work on it and fix it. It might not mean we'd win the league, but we might have been further up the table and had more points. The same with making the most of attacking set pieces. Sure we have other problems, whether it's playing far too slowly, turning back too often when we are in advanced positions and just passing the ball back or tip tap 5 yards passes out wide going nowhere, being left too exposed at the back if we lose the ball, not shooting enough etc, but set pieces can be worked on as well, changing from zonal to man-to-man marking is one thing that surely has to be implemented.

We were never beating them with Davies and Hojberg starting abso;lute garbage players who should be nowhere near the club, soon as the subs were made we actually looked like a team with Sarr and Bissouma and Johnson playing on the left with Richarlison upfront, we were just putting aimless balls into the box for Raya to catch with no focal point, as for the defending we need a defensive coach ASAP.
Do please put all your time in defending set pieces please, we will not progress otherwise

It’s is our problem; it’s been the problem for years. The annoying party is the quality of defenders has improved this season. With some of the defenders we’ve had in previous seasons conceding from set pieces pretty much every game was a given, fans hated it but expected it. With the quality we signed it should be getting better.
What happened to mark a man at corners and don’t lose the battle!?!? Half our team just marking space and trying to defend when half theirs have the run on us! It’s literally insane defensive set-piece tactics!

The negative comments I'm reading here are extremely short sighted and not coming from true supporters. Yes there are still things to be fixed and that will still take time. The good stuff however is as good as anything out there and that is what excites me. Arsenal are a class act at present and they were on their game today and save for some concentration issues we more then matched it with them. Just a little luck and the score was in our favour. I loved the comeback. This team will do us proud, they have the spirit and the talent and Ange will bring it through. Support your team if you are a true supporter.

Probably because he's been a manager for so long he's used to these situations. He has probably been ask these questions millions of times in the last 30 years. I agree he should show more ownership and responsibility in fixing our weakness in set pieces instead of being witty and avoiding the quesstion.
