Kind interesting at the beginning of the last 3 decades the Daytona 500 win was their first win as well. Michael Waltrip in 2001 Trevor Bayne in 2011 and Michael McDowell in 2021.

From a german perspective NASCAR is like: 40 laps of crashes, 160 laps of wowowowowowowooosh, brooooom, wowowowowowowowosh, brooooom
40 laps of crashing on the autobahn, 160 laps of normal autobahn driving
Hahaha I feel you. It's hard for us Europeans to see the appeal of NASCAR. It's an American thing you know. Explosions, fires, crashes, TV commentators waiting for WOOOOH THAT'S A BIG ONEEEE. The fact that Indycar is very much less popular there tells you a lot.

That's cool to watch Michael McDowell win the NASCAR Cup Series 2021 Daytona 500 full race on KZhead and got his first career NASCAR Cup Series win from this race too.
The no.2 car looked like he slowed to block, the no.34 was not having it, bumped him once, and then bumped him once more sending him into the back of the no.22 car sending both cars out of control, no.34 goes high and shoots out of the turn into the straight taking the lead and then the victory. Took 14 years for Michael Mcdowell to win his first race of his career. Man oh Man.
And he had to take out the two cars ahead of him to do so 😂😂😂
@@murphmuffin9069 yup rip brad and joeys relationship
@@murphmuffin9069 What about the line of cars pushing McDowell? Its 100% on Joeys bad block. If he wasnt a shit teammate/manufacturer aligned driver, there wouldnt have been a wreck. Ford wants them to stay in line and get the best finish for Ford as a whole, not just a single team or driver. Joey has repeatedly pulled out on McDowell and Brad to get the glory for himself, so why should they stay in line with him? Race like a dick bag, get raced like a dick bag. He chose to try that block, it caused a wreck. How is that on McDowell, he didnt throw a bad block? He just went with the car in front of him against one that would have hung him out in the same situation and they got blocked.
@@AgtWashingtub when they wrecked no one was pushing Mcdowell, Chase had let off at the time, but Brad was still behind Logano and was lined up pretty well, it wasn't until mcdowell shoved Keselowski while moving down the track that they wrecked. I thought McDowell caused the wreck, but after watching the slow mo, it clearly was Logano's block that started it. Congratulations to McDowell, and that helmet is freaking awesome.
Well i mean, the last big race he won was 2018 championship, and it would have been his 2nd 500, but i see your point
I don't know about clearly Logano's fault, I've watched it from several different angles multiple times and honestly i think it was a little of logano and McDowell, i think just a little before brad and Joey make contract it seems brad squirels a bit from that big push from McDowell
@@lj5660 You can clearly see McDowell ram Keselowski who (due to the ram from behind) speeds up and then hits Logano sending him into the wall.

I still watch every weekend but I'm about the last out of everybody I know here in Georgia
Unconventional opinion : I think McDowell actually gave Brad one last bump JUST when Brad moved down to pass Joey, just before McDowell's nose came into view - that way McDowell would've hit Brad on the right rear instead of the middle (inadvertently), got him loose, Brad started to countersteer and basically overcorrected. That's the only plausible explanation why Brad veered off to the right in such a strange fashion. Contact from Joey wouldn't have caused that, see Kes v Edwards '09. AT THE SAME TIME, you can see Joey switching lanes to block Brad, so you can't say Joey was innocent either. -- I'm just saying that I think this was actually two wrecks happening milliseconds within each other - and Brad's (which was a VERY unfortunate racing incident with his move and McDowell's last bump) actually started a few milliseconds earlier. Without that last Brad-McDowell touch, Brad would've probably won the very same way he won against Edwards at Talladega in 2009 - though he would've had to block at least one more move from McDowell or Elliott.
Exactly I seen that and I think he did that on purpose. So sad this guy can only win after fourteen years by wrecking people !! I hope he gets boo'd now at every race !
