All Russian T 90M tanks in Ukraine may have received Telnik shells

2024 ж. 26 Нау.
355 568 Рет қаралды

Imagine a single tank dominating the battlefield, capable of neutralizing entrenched infantry, eliminating light vehicles, and even engaging aerial threats. This vision, once a futuristic scenario, is inching closer to reality with the introduction of the 3VOF128 Telnik round. This innovative projectile, equipped with programmable detonation, promises to revolutionize the role of tanks and potentially rewrite the nature of combat. Rumors have been swirling about the potential armament of Russia's T-90M Proryv tanks stationed in Ukraine. While Moscow remains tight-lipped on the matter, evidence points towards the use of the Telnik rounds in October 2023.

    • @@williamzk9083 You are 100% correct. What they are not telling us is that the reason it's different is it's heavily integrated with drones as indirect/direct fire. Outside of setting /loading the round, the crew is literally (laying the gun only) hands off. Sort of how Longbow/Apaches work ..... Russia is working it's way out of the dark ages. No doubt about that. And tanks play a significantly different role than, say, even 3 years ago because they have suddenly become so vulnerable. Makes me wonder if the future is not "tanks" at all, but "mobile artillery".

    • Arguably it's more about not allowing the opposition the opportunity to built huge defensive lines of trenches, landmines, and towed artillery. Then continue to pointlessly attack those lines, like it's WWI. Despite having satellite intelligence and drone swarms. For example if the Russian Northern Offensive didn't collapse. Then they would have been on the opposite side of the Ukrainian defensive line. Which is how the Maginot Line was defeated. Luckily for Ukraine, Russia had horrible logistics and not enough personal to sustain that front. Which is a surprising blunder in itself.

Javelin max range: 2500M FPV Drone: 3000m TOW II ATGM: 3750m These ranges can be out matched by a tank firing a guided round with a max range of 7000m or an ATGM with max range of 10,000m you out range your enemy causing them to get closer to your position. BUT, Do you think that area is under protection of supporting elements? You put at risk your Jav team, ATGM team, and Drone teams. My answer stands: Stand Off Distance. It is not in circulation due to the absence of a training round and the lack of integration into current US training aids (AGTS, CCTT, and VBS3). While this is a true in a strawman sense, its not correct.
