    • Mice are capable of biting the same electric cable en masse, even while surrounded by the corpses of their kin It happened in a train station: one day the lights went out. When the technicians intervened, they found a room full of dead rats surrounding a recently cut cable: one by one, they bit it, they gor electrocuted, and still went on, until the cable was broken

  • Thank you so much for making this video! A mouse got into my house last night and ran behind the stove. Didn’t have any peanut oil so I mixed a teaspoon of chocolate almond butter into some corn oil. Put the bowl next to the stove with some books stacked like little stairs next to it. Found the mouse sitting in the bowl when I came downstairs this morning!! 😎

    @TripDogg5@TripDogg52 жыл бұрын
    • Compassionate, but highly unsanitary. Catching mice that have been running around in the wild, or in a barnyard and keeping them is not the same as buying them from a pet store. Wild mice carry some nasty pathogens, some of which are fatal and uncurable to humans. They are not suitable as pets and should be dispatched.

  • I made an oil trap a few decades ago, it reliably caught any mice in my shop and worked for a long time, it just needed an occasional oil change every month or so, I checked it daily and was almost always surprised by how many it caught. I put a small pillar in the middle of the bowl with peanut butter on the tip, it stuck about 6 inches above the oil and couldn't be reached by the mice since by that point they were soaked in vegetable oil so it didn't need replenishing, just an occasional change once it dried out, I usually changed it with the oil. I suspect that a very effective dead trap could be made using oil as well, with a deeper bowl or bucket, they wouldn't be able to swim in it since they are more dense than the oil and it's so thick. Maybe a bucket with a lid with a funnel inside (to take the place of the bowl) that's just big enough for a mouse to pass through sideways, so it sinks to the bottom. But when it bloats up and starts floating it rises to the top around the funnel, so there's less chance of them floating to the top. Fire and forget missile kind of thing lol, just dump the entire contents of the bucket in a fire every 6 months and refill the oil.

Pretty foolproof. On the offhand, talking about those mice channels with electric traps and such, where the hell do they get all of those mice?

    • Mice (and rodents in general) are nature's Pringles, their survival strategy boils down to "well if I produce a litter of 15 pups maybe 4 of them will survive to adulthood". As such it's really not that hard to breed and get a ton of them; they're used as snake food and quite literal lab rats for a reason.

  • I was gobsmacked to watch this video! So easy! When we emptied our outdoor coop, a hungry mouse found its way into our house, and we couldn't catch it with snap traps or sticky traps and I didn't want to use poison. So I put out a bowl with vegetable on it and some peanut butter smeared in the sides. Next morning, we had it! My husband was amazed!

    • Get a gigantic bowl of oil and a clear oil-proof case, put a bunch of cash in the case, and then leave it at the bottom of the bowl. Tell people that they can keep the money if they manage to get back out of the bowl, but no tools allowed. And tell them that if they try to cooperate with each other, there's still only one person who actually gets the money. Sit back and watch.
