A few years from now some player will come up that could jump a little higher, run a little faster, run with the ball a little faster etc, be more physical. But it will be a VERY long time till we see a 17 year old dribble the ball the way Messi does. No stepovers, no bicycle kicks, no trivela etc- just football. I feel when everyone starts playing the game, they dream of starting from one goal post and dribbling past all opponents to score a goal with the ball on the ground but soon we realise that we aren't cut out for that and that's when positions come into picture. It will be a very long time till we get someone like Leo.
FACTs. Infact, when we start playing football. The goal post is never there. Its just about who will manipulate the ball and get past others. Thats the most basic form of football. Football at its basic form has no 11 players, its whoever wants to play even if its 30 vs 30 or 2 vs 2. And guys like Leo are the gods any day. They walk around you hear whispers and different treatment from others.

I just knew it judging by Messi's personality that he didn't really care about CR7 as obsessively as CR7 did. This rivalry was just a media and Ronaldo thing real ballers who actually watched them both knew their isn't any comparison since Messi has always been clear of Ronaldo.

Prince Boateng said that Messi asked about italy, if it is hard to score there cause CR was there. Their rivalry was fueled by both of them. Messi is more humble about it but no way two giants in sports can reach these numbers without racing against eachother.

He wasn't specifically asking about Ronaldo, when a newcomer comes you'd obviously ask about the league he plays in. Messi never really played while racing for numbers, I have always felt this when watching him play. He's been more of the kind to put team success over individual.

The step overs were cringe, they weren't even great tricks. Ronaldinho for example was a way better trickster than Ronaldo if you want to bring that arguments up. Messi was so good he didn't need silly step overs to destroy opponents. No one in the history of football had the pure control and vision of Messi. Maradona or Xavi/Iniesta/Pirlo had either the control or vision but Ronaldo didn't. Ronaldo had to rely mostly as being a goal machine up front.
