  • wow, what a gift. I didt know Eckhart Tolle, fell into this video by chance and it totally resonated with me. He is like many Buddhist monks talking and how they laugh when they say the most obvious but profound wisdom, I love how its lighthearted and not to be taken so seriously. Life is hard enough. What he calls spaciousness, I have called my acorn, its that piece of myself that is my true nature. I am old now and can recognise in people and friends I have known for a long time whether they have found their acorn, whether they have stumbled upon it by chance or whether they are a searcher and realised it exists. Its a state of peace and contentment that exists, but life does interfere and that's not a bad thing, its just life. Loved his talk as he is so humble sharing it, so look forward to hearing more. Thank you Eckhart Tolle for your knowledge and sharing

  • Actually we allways are in the 4th state when we are immersed in something, very attentive, but without mind, e. g. When reading, listening, hiking, doing sports etc. The person is not present. We don't realize it, because there is no vehicle to know. Only later, when we come out of that state, we realize it was there and that it was beautiful, relaxing, whole etc. It was so beautiful, because the I wasn't present.

  • This is why minimalism resonates so deeply with me, because of the opposite approach - I'm now trying to fix a problem not by adding something to it, but by reducing or removing something that obstructs and has no purpose. However, our minds seem to be wired to do so... to keep adding stuff, even when we're trying to meditate and be at peace.

  • When I was small my father said there is a tiny space between being awake and asleep and, if I could catch it and stay in that space, I would have a new experience. It took a while but eventually I did catch it and found that I was free of my body and could explore. I have never tried to find out exactly what was happening but I called it floating. Maybe it was a dream that I could observe, I don't know, but I could go out and explore. I remember one particularly beautiful experience where I was in a cave that was above ground, overlooking the sea. A couple of large baskets were hanging inside near the mouth of the cave. They were empty so I don't know what they were for. It seemed as if I sat there for hours watching the sun dancing on the sea. I never met anyone else when I was in this state and I haven't done it for many years now. Eckhart has reminded me of that experience, I think I will start doing it again. Thank you Eckhart

Those small morning deaths accumulate and eventually what hasn’t killed me, just became successful at it. Sleep? Some without faith believe it to be the big dirt nap. • Mr. Tolle I've followed you around and read many books of yours for about 13 yrs. In this video about sleep I recognized something. And I believed it's the reason I've always understood your amazing teachings, and why they have helped me so much. But I recognized you as an INFJ, as I am. I then asked Bing Chat, and its reply was that you're an INFJ. Assuming that's true, of course. When I think back on your background stories about yourself, I now can see and understand very much about all that has led you to be the wonderful teacher you are. With adoration ...🌿

  • That is a nice thought. I'm going to watch for when that happens But i have thought lately about how it feels when I slip into sleep and usually I don't dream. Thank you.

  • All my life my fantasy was to not have to sleep - a 24 hr day to work AND play. But the way he describes the transition to sleep - disappearing, makes it so much more fascinating.

  • Fascinating that ET talks about sleep then shifts gears to this "aware" state. I think he's calling it Force State or Fourth State - not sure. Doesn't matter. What's interesting is that the aware state might be compared to sleep. To me, the feeling is one of "lights on." Being aware while forgetting the self is an awake state which includes peace. It's very immediate, and it's almost always overlooked by everyone. . . because there's so much darned stuff going on! Lol. Might be called hyper-lucidity. . . the opposite of dreamless deep sleep. And, in a metaphorical sense, it's absolutely dreamless. As in, this aware state negates all of the mud and flood activity of the dreamstate . . . dealing instead with what's right under your own nose. ;-)

  • I got to the fourth stage of consciousness just from a breakup... I can read energy in the background and its actually logic that you only see once your ego hits away... and you break through, then even random events you can see how it took place just like something that happens in the 3D
