    • Actually it does, that's the halo effect. Some celebrities look very attractive when they're alone in pictures, but next to some supermodels they look average. That's like being a millionaire but being int he same room as billionaire, yes you're still filthy rich as a millionaire, but next to a billionaire your wealth doesn't seem as extraordinary.

      @frenchgirl5878@frenchgirl58783 ай бұрын
    • @@frenchgirl5878 this is so true but then again you never know you can surpass that billionaire in some point too.. Or even if you can't you'll still be enough content with life I believe so in that sense eternal peace is what is needed!

      @Serenabuttercup@Serenabuttercup3 ай бұрын
    • @@SerenabuttercupHalo effect acts on your reptilian brain. If your brain is making you feel like you re in the presence of someone out of your league,superior,beautiful,attractive its nothing that you can do only to learn how to bury the emotion and stop brain overloading which won t happen unless you re exposed constantly to similar situations. Women bump up their attraction level artificially a lot which intimidates the men on her level. In reality its extremely hard to beat the odds and end up with a guy that is above you and sees you as equal even though you can fool men temporarily but since guys s analytical brain get what is happening unless they have social or mental problems of some sort. Once he sees you at your worst, without make up, not slept and so on that s how he remembers you and that s your level to him( basically when he saw you looking the worst that s your level) and this is a secret guys never tell women. The thing is in the end women always end up with a guy on their level no matter what they do or try, but years of artificially increasing her level and some of them even sleeping around makes them discard the guy they should be with as inferior so they will never be happy with him even though they marry him, women usually turn the switch off once they think they got you in the bag because of that. Women think they can fool men, but they dont realize that is never working and its actually very damaging on the long run. When men choose partners, especially for marriage they analyze like mad and wont get fooled. Men also lie a lot about how impressive they are, their achievements,their financial level,their status, their intentions with you especially and its so sad when good women dont realize they are just another b to some guy who doesnt care about them . People lied so much and now they wonder why the divorce rates, why dating doesnt work, why no confidence around eachother, why no friendships and so on and so forth. Everybody is so ok with being fake and lying I wonder where did it all gone so wrong!

      @kyrak.4143@kyrak.41433 ай бұрын
    • I disagree. We people compete for everything, whether it be looks, jobs, spots in top schools, friendships, entry in select clubs. Just because YOU don't want to compete doesn't mean people are not competing with you. Now there are different ways in which you can choose to compete, either you always compare yourself to other to improve yourself, or you close in and try to work on yourself the best way you can regardless of others and be happy with the results knowing that you did your best no matter your place in the beauty spectrum. I'm not sure which method is best, I do have a preference for the second one.

  • Usually I don't have an issue seeing other beautiful girls without feeling insecure, but my high school crush who used to like me and flirt with me all of a sudden started to flirt with a different girl from our class who was also really pretty. This was an experience that did make me feel heart broken because I felt he chose to stop liking me and to fancy her instead because he deemed her as prettier than me :( And the thing is, I am conventionally attractive, I like the way I look and I do get compliments from various different people all the time (regarding my looks as well as my personality and demeanor), but this memory still leaves a sting sometimes, not gonna lie.

If we add another beautiful woman to the equation who's confident, and steals all my attention and spotlight, I have nothing. Confidence was never my shield and it's just not easy having fun in the presence of threat. I would be lying to myself. I rather just leave the situation altogether and remind myself I dont need to be nothing but happy and comfortable.

Its an horrible experience, i feel like everytime i compliment people they reply in a fake way, as if I'm just saying it for convenience. It has made me so insecure and left me with no actual friends since i cut them off because they kept acting like I'm just so much better than them. It's tiring Edit: literally cannot exist without people shitting on me just bcs I said I’m pretty lmfao they ain’t even see me. Should listen to the video. I’m not going to insult myself and degrade myself so people feel good about themselves

Imo u have different stages of hating yourself, u can not like the way u are and still be nice. My friends I would say are more like their inner relationship with themselves dont reflect on their behaviours. Again imo yours are more like the "I hate myself and my behaviour shows it". If I am jealous of someone -> I am not going to be friend with -> I would reflect on myself first (like why am I) but those people seem to not have the power of stepping back

    • Hey, welcome to being a male or an old person. You're invisible most of your life, actually! Physical attractiveness is a short thing, reserved for a short period in a young woman's life. It is really only important for attracting a romantic partner of equal physical attractiveness. Don't base your self esteem or self love on physical attractiveness. When you're 70 you'll think your body is aged and broken, just like all of us. That's why self love has to come from something deeper, something more Eternal

This is not something that is often spoken about because sometimes low key when we feel insecure around other beautiful women we just try to find a flaw in them, ignore or pretend like we do not actually see their beauty in order not to feel bad but now because of your explanation we know not to hide from it or pretend, instead we call their beauty as it is while actually knowing that our beauty is still intact. This is a very healthy way of handling these situations so thanks again.

I am always female first and actively take initiative to support women and not fall prey to shadow feminine behaviour (jealousy cattiness etc). When I was a scraggly tomboy I never had issues with other women. As my skills in elegance grew and I learned what made me feel my best I noticed an extreme rise in other women’s mistreatment of me. I still work hard to make sure I’m representing myself with humble confidence and to help other women feel comfortable and beautiful where I can, but it’s important for all of us to realize we are in this together. I am always astounded at the strength and beauty of every woman I come across, and though I do my best to help them see it (if only in the smallest of interactions) I really want women’s culture to flourish in the foundational acceptance of appreciating our own diversity and the confidence to be found in it.
