This is attempt of restoration antique axe, that have been burried under ground for many years. That was not clear restoration, couse the axe had very deep rust at the edge area, so I had to leave it there. But after etching, I saw amazing damask pattern, what give it cool vintage look.

Good job mate. It looks awesome. I would love to restore a piece of history like you did. The only part that I'm disappointed in is the negative comments. Let's encourage each other and stop breaking people down. Grow up!
I love watching these kind of comments David liebenberg keep making these kind of comments please 👌
You tell everyone to stop with negative comments and lift each other up. Then you say " GROW UP!" lol..
@@LambeauLeeeper Isn't growing up literally lifting oneself up...? 🤔
Steel is amazing. No matter how fucked up an worn out it looks, a few millimeters deeper is always some fresh and shiny, brand new material
I love that you didn't totally kill that axe's SOUL with the restoration! Great job!
I think whomever made this axe would love that it was restored and used instead of hung in a shadow box covered in rust. Tools are meant for use not decoration. I say good on ya mate.
I like how you restored it, yet kept it looking aged. Beautiful job!
Если бы не такие люди как вы то молодёжь незнала бы свою страну историю чем жили нащы претки как жили хорошо щто ест такие как вы спасибо вам за всё что делаите за огромным труд ❤
Guys he tried his best and I don’t think you can do any better if you can then show me. People are so rude these days he’s just trying to make great content which he did so be quiet everyone and let him do what he wants
Posting content on a forum that functions on interaction is what this is all about, Why is there a thumbs down button and a space to comment if you think everyone should be quiet?
ThePatrick Show he removed so much material to do this .... no good
This isn't great content, he tried his best but ultimately failed.
Pieter Van Der Westhuizen p. I agree what's the point in being polite and saying it was a great job when you know it wasn't ,nobody learns that way ime sure he agrees!
What's up with all the negative comments? The guy just restored the axe because he likes doing it and made a video to share.
Vee.19 by how deep the pitting is and shape- the axe is definitely medieval age. Some things are not supposed to be restored. Just cleaned and waxed
Soarey I don't think its even 200 years old. If it was older, that would be somewhat unfortunate.
Jon Riley these axes used to be forged, cleaned and then preserved with wax. It is done with all the axes. Once a hardened material has been this rusted (meaning the blade) im sure that the axe is really old. If you want to clean it, you can make a nice video bout it. But a lot of people tend to get angry for destroying history
Vee.19 He didn’t restore this he ruined it.
Jason Krohn I wouldn't know. It's his axe though so he can do whatever he wants. I just don't get all the personal insults.
I enjoyed the video , It's yours so you can do as much or as little as you want. The bottom line is its done when you say it's done. Personally I like the way you did the axe. It turned out great. Thanks for sharing.
Relaxing guitar music while a dude works his ass off...how can you not love it... what a beauty under that corrosion!
I really appreciate your clips...I have any of those items or machines but I'd li ke to do the same work in my spare time (actually I have any of that for now). I think the most fascinating aspect of this hard job is in giving new life to something made by someone else a long time ago. In my opinion, you can feel yourself twice proud...once because you spent lots of time, materials and energies for restoring an old axe but, above all, because you gratified the soul of an ancient artisan.
“Because you gratified the soul of the ancient artisan”. That was a beautiful thing to say.
Some have hobbies making useful things. Some have the hobby of making snide and provocative comments so they can get attention.
Robert Tommer oh the irony
It would be interesting to weigh it before and after.
I swear these restoration videos are like lullabies to me. I watch them on my phone in bed and doze off after they play.
Agreed, I know it takes no skill to sand rusty metal clean and put a new handle on but I love these types of videos
I get that too just hearing the sounds of tools and the machines he uses gives me an asmr vibe
You did a great job. I wish I could do this myself. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Hello from Paris, i watch your video all the time, great content, you inspire me, i just started my canel TysyTube Restoration because of you and others, i love to restore thing, i hope one day i will be big like you. Good luck
Crazy how big your channel is now
I love seeing the pattern in the wrought iron, really interesting.
These are so good to watch when you're feeling down. It's like starting a new life by scraping off the old.
It’s so amazing how a piece of metal can look so tarnished and worn out to the point where it looks beyond repairable, but is still good after some sanding.
Its prety educational and nice to see which tool does what
Massive transformation! Excellent...
As soon as I see you have posted a video, I go to it right away. Always worth watching. Thank you.
I love bringing old tools back to life, although I'm not as good as you.
Nice work. I just bought an axe head to restore. It's old, but not as old as this one.
That bluing looks great.
A nice try This is the best thing anyone can do it with that rusted piece Well done
That my friend was beautiful work! My favourite one you have done so far😀 thank you for sharing your video with us bro, Anthony Kent
Satisfying to watch. Great job on the restoration.
Nice work, very peaceful to watch.
Looks great considering how tore up it was!
New life. Well played sir.
Now this is what i call a restouration!
I find videos like this satisfying
So relaxing, the song, the vid
People make a big deal about "losing it's atiquity" , but I think there is more value in restoring it to its original glory.
Zoinks Yeah whats the point of having a rusty old axe head lol
I wanna know where ya get that kinda belt sander
very nice The Axe has got a New Life..
Love the handle, awesome video.
Nice rustic look
This video made my day. I have been trowhing up all day because of too much drinking
Aleksi Niemelä hold your alcohol friend , better not to argue with police for that lmao
Simply art.
A nice wrought iron axe. Older that 100 years old for sure and judging by the eye shape could also have 200+ years. Reminds me some medieval French and English axes used in 13th and 14th century, but it's not that old. Or is it? ;-)
Man... what a soundtrack!
Awesome work !! Good job , bro
dude , i love how you didn't modernize the handle, it should look like this!!! boiiiiii you goooddddddd
There is more then one way to do something.great job!!! end of story;)
very nice indeed. what did you dip the head in towards the end?
Thanks, great work and impressive result. Btw good choice of music.
Loved the finish ... looked medievil and old but functional... great job 👍💯👍
thanks
Hey, OP: Great choice of music for the video. I really enjoy instrumental, and that track was actually kind of exceptional. There's two bands that I think you'd like based on the sound of that song: Pelican and Team Sleep. Pelican is an instrumental band, and Team Sleep is a band that has the same sort of feeling that song gives off, except they're fronted by Chino Moreno from the Deftones.
That was More than an attempt!! Loved the music and seeing the techniques you used...Amazing to find damask under all that. Any idea how old it might be? Reminds me of an axe used by a forest keeper I met in Germany. Thanks very much for showing us this restoration!!
Which disk grinder are you using to polish the axe head ? And also whiwh kind of wood ?
Nice work...cheers
Well done!
Love the job you did and the music 👍
Nice video New lease of life well done 👍🇬🇧
Very nicely done! Did you quench? Were you not worried about overheating?
Beautiful
Lucru bun! Good job! Хорошая работа!
Gut gemacht.
Beautiful job
Well done you keep the axe value at the end
nice job, I really like the music
He could have cut down on grinding time by using the electrolysis meathod or soaking it in rust converter. This would still allow it to keep the original shape while making the process quicker. He still did a good job aside from the loose fit on the handle
great job!!
looks like that axe head has seen its best days, but you made them far from over, good job, bravo.
thanks =)
Love that you kept some of the Latina. Looks great
The latina ?
Sorry meant to be patina
Too bad I would've prefered some latinas :)
nice blade !
Amazing work keep it up and you will have a million subs in no time
Good video. Perfect👌
a very nice antique axe! turned out real pretty! :D
That's a bit more than what I'd call "antique" I'd call that "ancient". Nice work sir
Very nice job! It seems like it might have some stress fractures between the eye and the blade, no?
traderjoes those are the seams from where it was forge welded and the patterns in the different layers of the wrought iron.
That music relax me
Great work, as ever. Thank you.
Me encantó como quedo 👍💯
Good job bro Thats a beautifull axe
Trabalho excelente parabéns😉
Thats a real nice video,,,,!
Great restoration! May I ask, what is green sandpaper for metal, and is that Etch and prep you soaked it in?
Nice work, you have done that old timer some serious justice. The music was just fine. What grit belt did you use at the beginning?
Beautiful work
Wonderful work .may I ask what liquid you dipped the axe in?
bill p might be ferric chloride, but I'm not sure
Que história de superação
um leão nao ama seu filhote kkkjk Eres un tonto güey Jaja Toca para basura
KKKKKK o boludo falou merda ainda
I take it this is wrought iron and hardened steel bit san mai welded together?
Looks that way.
Thank you for posting. Very cool ...
You had your work cut out for you with that one. Nicely done.
Fantastic
متابعك من العراق اليك👍
você poderia ter usado o processo de eletrólise para tirar a ferrugem. seria mais rápido. espero ter ajudado. o resultado ficou ótimo
what is the belt sander you use Koss
You can see how I made this grinder in this video - kzhead.info/sun/fa18gbOQcIiLgmw/bejne.html
Is this "restoration" or just grinding it down to shiny metal. I prefer the rust being converted rather than destroyed along with the character of the tool
old dog same no one would know it was an antique if it’s nice and shiny
He took something old a useless and made it worthwhile again. I think he did a great job.
To anyone who knows a thing about old weapons and tools, this stands out as a restoration job after the etch and clean up. There's ample evidence of hand forging and the fact that it's a wrought iron body and a high carbon tip evidence the fact that it's an antique.
What kind of attachment is he using on the angle grinder to buff the axe?
Q
That's vibranium!!
Jan Michael Pimentel WAKANDA POEBAAAAAAAAAA
Много добра работа ! Браво !:-) 👍
This is the biggest dilemma of restoration: preserving an ancient thing or transforming it into a new and different thing?
Que liquido e esse que voce mergulhou o machado?
Not sure why all the twats of the internet decided to target your video- nice job on this.
WOW!
bellissima...old school
